Anyone else doing the Keto Diet?

Just started it after months of the scale not moving. Already lost 4lbs in 4 days and was wondering if anyone else is having success with this diet as well?

I did a ketogenic diet for 8 weeks, last week I reintroduced dairy. It worked pretty well for me, thats how I have lost what I have lost.

Dairy was the hardest thing for me to give up.

I did it for about 4 weeks. Lost about 12lbs. Problem is, its a diet. Not something I could stick to forever. As soon as I intoduced the carbs and dairy gained 15 back. Ended up worse than i started. For me I find it much easier just eating healthy.
  • Yes, doing it now and have done it in the past. The most important thing with keto is that you can't resume eating carbs the way you used to before keto when you reach your goal weight. That was my biggest mistake, and why I'm here now starting over. It definitely works though, and I really enjoy the food involved. You have a very diverse amount of recipes/types of food to choose from. =)

Cant you just reintroduce carbs progressively and in moderation?

I am doing transition right now, 4 weeks, reintroducing dairy and stuff like lentils and more fruit. Then i will reintroduce carbs, i am thinking of only eating them on weekends and mainly for breakfast.

In theory, as long as you are still at a deficit you should lose weight. I am not in ketosis anymore but still lost fat this week
  • Well, yes and no. From what I've seen, as long as it's in moderation and gradually, you should be fine. Just monitor your intake and watch the scale. If you start seeing a gain, you know that's your max amount of carbs your body can handle, and that's the number you should stay below to maintain.
  • Yeah milk has been the hardest for me to give up. I'm seeing a consistant 1/2 lb weight loss everyday after 6 months of a plateau. I've lost 90lbs just eating low cal and then my body just stopped losing no matter what I did. This seems to work so I'm going to stick to it.
