Regular beans that you cook fresh or cook from dried, like black beans, kidney beans, lentils and pinto beans are typically very low in calories for their added fiber and protein content.

Avoid canned beans. Even "low sodium" versions.

Also, don't put anything on them. Like butter, salt, barbecue sauce, and cheese. That just ruins what you're trying to accomplish.

Fresh peas are also an EXCELLENT source of protein.

For a list of high protein foods where you can also see calories go to http://www.highproteinfoods.net/

To get to beans, legumes, etc. go to http://www.highproteinfoods.net/vegetables/1207 directly.

    Hope that helps.

I use a high protein low calorie low sugar protein shake. Its around 290 calories i can get 45grams of protein. It works good for me since i leave at 7 am and get home at 10 pm. I also eat 3 egg whites with my lunch and a turkey burger for breakfast.

GREAT JOB ON THE WEIGHT LOSS.

tofu, eggs, fish, lean cuts of meat, greek yogurt, shrimp, canned tuna, chicken w/o skin (breast, thighs, drumsticks), egg whites, other seafood, sashimi!!!, protein powder... that's all i can remember right now :) i also have the occasionally protein bar but real food is better.

edit: if you make a 2 tbsp protein powder shake with stevia and 1/2 cup cottage cheese, it's something like 200cals and 40-45g protein. consistency is like a watery milkshake.

I like making tuna salad with no mayo- just add celery, tomatoes, dill relish, onions, pepper, Dijon and hard boiled egg whites for a big-time protein extravaganza! !!!
