If you could take a pill to get you where you wanted to be, knowing that it may hurt you would you still take it? Assume that it will hurt you. Its just the amount of damage that is in question.

It simply means that I think of the exact same thing0 -
Ok then how about this...what if you were marked like in the scarlet letter. It didn't hurt you physically but everyone will know you took the magic pill.0

This is complex. If my 'magic pill' gave me the body I want, then I would be in fantastic shape. I think that yes, I would sacrifice pride to be perfectly healthy.
*Just to clarify--when you say magic I'm thinking Harry Potter and dragons. If you're referring to diet pill that actually works--then no because I don't trust science in this day and age enough to really believe that there wouldn't be any consequences.0 -
No - just like I've never taken anabolic steroids in an attempt to build muscle. I know the results would be significant, but I know the damage to my body also stands a good chance of being very significant. Not worth it to me.0

You brought up a point I hadn't thought of- If said magic would get me to my fitness and health goals, not just my weigh loss goal, then maybe. I dismissed it because I can't imagine something giving me strength and speed and endurance, but if those things are on the table, and harry potter is involved, I would have to think seriously about it.0 -

Lets get this as simple as possible. If those "magic" pills or any other weight loss gimmicks were indeed effective then everybody would be walking around with beach ready bodies. However that is not what you see in real life.0

I hope I don't get too bashed for my honesty but somedays, some struggles. Yes, sure I would.
Most days though I know that only I can get me where I'm heading and I'm happy on this path. I want my kids to know they have to work for what they want but I have severe moments of weakness when I doubt my own abilities to do this. On those days I would take a magic pill at many costs (not any!)0 -
