I play the cello now, but I used to play the violin until I gave it up for the cello. I also used to play the recorder.

I used to play the clarinet, then i moved on the acoustic guitar, then piano, now i sing! =)
  • I started with clarinet, switched to tenor sax and oboe, then went on to the bassoon as my majors. I play just about any now including brass, strings, percussion, orchestral and bluegrass....
    I love my music!

I love music an appreciate more than preform.

    I have playes/play:

Cello - but it's been a LONG time
    Trombone
    Piano
Guitar ( ummm, ot realle, but I like to pretend when around good musicians)
Bass guitar ( same as above)
Percussion (aha - drums. No good. Just for fun or when someone is desperate)

    I guess that's it.

    alto and tenor sax

I still play the piano, and the bells (xylophone type) and now I've added Handbells too - I'm the handbell choir director and the women's quartet (vocal) director/accompanist, and alto/soprano - depending on the song at our church.

I played the flute in 5th grade for about a half an hour.

Now I play a pretty mean classical kazoo for kings and queens.

I have this strange urge to take up the violin lately ....it just came out of nowhere ..

I loved playing the violin, I can barely remember how to play, because it was almost 13 years ago since I've stopped playing. I did love it though. You should try it!
I remember in band competitions when we would have to sight read I was always nervous....I know. now that it was because I play by ear. I feel so confident that I could learn by ear with violin!

I play a French horn in 7th grade, bass clarinet in 8th grade and I was a flag girl in 10th grade. That was the end of my music career.

I played the snare and bass drum in junior high (a LONG time ago). Currently, I am learning to play bass, although have stalled my lessons for a bit to focus on getting in shape.

I played trombone in elementary school, it burned in a fire. I took the hint.
Cello in jr. high, piano in high school and tambourine in a band when I was in my early twenties. I could really shake that thing! =)
I really do miss playing cello the most though.

TUBA -- I have friends in LOW places.
  • Man! I go way back , from the sixties rock and roll and I really haven't had a gig since New Years Eve 2000. I haven't looked for it but I still miss it. I looks like DJ's, Carioki and just computers have taken all the work. Oh, I play drums and still keep up and give lessons but I do miss playing for a crowd. I guess I always will.

I played flute and piccolo in band and piano at home. Husband played trombone and euphonium. Out of our 5 children, #2 plays flute, euphonium and sousaphone, and his wife is fond of clarinet, but as a music major, she can play just about all instruments, #3 plays clarinet, #4 plays trumpet and sousaphone, and #5 used to play flute but now has found other artsy things to do like drawing and drama.

I took flute and piano lessons  play piano by ear though.

and I had ONE WEEK of trombone! my music teacher was studying for her master's and had to teach a student to play an instrument she had never taught before. but we worked really hard and I actually got to play a song with her class (she really pushed me. all the others teacher's taught their student one note) haha
