I dont know what lunking is but I am guilty of grunting sometimes. Nothing excessive but there are times when the last few reps just require it.

In my gym a loud alarm goes off and we humiliate and escort out anybody who is not breathing or grunting loud enough. Because it's a judgement free zone.

I feel you mustgetmuscle . Lunking is the same as grunting and etc. Sometimes you have to in order to get that last rep or push in. Go hard and you won't regret it.

You got it taso42 . Sounds like Planet Fitness. I don't know who came up this this rule, but sometimes it is necessary to lunk. That's when you know you are giving it your all.

Grunting when you exercise isn't good for your vocal chords. Not that it is important to everyone, but if your speaking or singing voice is important to you, try to be sure to breathe through the exercise.
