What's something you've given up since MFP?

I'm about to enjoy my last coca cola/soda till I reach my goal weight.
What is something that was hard for you to give up completely, not talking about moderation?
Also looking for some friends add me, I keep my food dairy open for viewing. Just starting to get on the healthy eating wagon though! xD

I gave up pop/soda completely. I started my journey 5 weeks ago and thats the last time I had a sip of pop. Nothing but water for the last 5 weeks!!! I never thought that would be possible for me. But I'm doing it and everyday it's getting easier to live without my beloved pop. Good luck to you!0

Ah ha. I hope I don't have to do that. I like drinking with my friends..... at least I've switched to light beers... xD0

Thanks I like soda a lot but I LOVE water so I think the transition to just water, unsweetened teas, and occasionally coffee will be just fine, Congrats on your 5 weeks w/o soda!0 -
Every unhealthy food and drink for the last 1 and a half months, plan to continue the healthy lifestyle for a very long time.0

cocktails! i still enjoy wine and JD with diet coke but it has been hard to give up my cosmpopolitans and long island ice teas0
-
I gave up eating a lot of carbs and all junk foods. And I also gave up my boyfriend as of last night!!0
-
Twiztedbeing - nice, I don't think I have the will power just yet to cut out every unhealthy food. Slowly but surely my list will grow. So far no sweets, chips or sodas. Keep up the good work you look really good and healthy!
iqbalkaurthin - oh don't get me started mmm missing those long islands. Now its down to beer that tastes like water -__- for me hahaa.0 -
I haven't had sodas, fast foods, fried foods, and red meats in 502 days of logging into mfp.0

Aw, I hope it wasn't too hard of a break up?! On the bright side you could lose the "boyfriend weight". When my bf of 3 years broke up with me, I lost 20lbs pretty fast. Probably from the depression though. Ha0 -
Juice.
I realized it wasn't worth the calories, it doesn't fully quench my thirst or hunger so I been sticking to water. And after 2 weeks of sticking to water I found juice way too sweet...so no more juice for me0 -
I hardly ever drink alcohol anymore, absolutely NO soda, dont crave candy/sweets anymore (occasional piece of chocolate but not the way I used to eat)0

ugh yeah me and my bf of four years broke up 2 months ago. that's when i started here. hopefully i can get him back though.

Gluttony.
Greed, wrath, pride, envy, sloth and lust are calorie-free. I'm on my way to perfection!0 -

I'm surpisingly ok with it. It was my decision and its been coming for a while.
Thanks!0 -
lilorphann - wow good job too you! I couldn't imagine going without fast food for that many days. I'm cutting down to twice a month the after I do that for a couple months, I'll just eat fast food once a month. This is coming from someone who would eat fast food at twice a week!
Chameleone - I love juice but yea its not worth the calories, and its hard picking one that's actually good for you. I tried juicing, myself but it was just too much effort haha. Rather just eat the fruit.
LittleNicci - Can't imagine not drinking alcohol, let alone cutting back more than I have already!0 -
Nothing!0

Hard liquer, not because I believe its bad (I'm one of those everythhing in moderation types) but because I when I get drunk I eat like a crazy person lol0

Since joining this site I don't even set foot in the snack/chips/candy aisles at the grocery store. There's no room for Chex Mix, Combos, Cheez-Its, or Skittles in my new lifestyle.
I'm also fighting to give up Pepsi. Sometimes I can go forever without soda, other times I just give in. But I always log it and make sure I still stay under my limit.0 -
Beer, pasta alfredo, java rice... Man I love those three but they made my waistline expand plus their calorie contents are unforgiving even if its homemade (talking about the latter two, not the beer of course).0

earthtoemilyy - sorry about your break up they suck especially when its not mutual. I hope he comes to his senses or your find someone that see's how special you are. Mmm chocolate is good but luckily, I'm not a big sweet tooth person so thats easy for me.
MAC &&&& CHEESE omg ;__; the best thing ever invented in a box. I'm going to miss it!
primmmy - hahaa you sound like my guy friends, it could seriously be 3am everyones drunk and there all making bacon, Patton and eggs. Us girls are just like ew really xD0 -
i know you said, "not talking moderation" but i honestly haven't given up on anything yet. i like variety, so if i don't eat one thing today, i'll make sure i eat it tomorrow kind of thing.0

Nothing less than a good amount of my time.0

You don't have to give up anything to lose weight!!! if you like ice cream, burgers and pizza eat them but COUNT THE CALORIES!!!! that's the main thing! I managed to lose weight eating burgers and ice cream almost every day!0

I would have to say eating out, and only because its incredibly easy to go all out and eat over a days worth of calories in a one hour sitting. Yes, I still get fast food, but I am fully aware of what I put in my belly ahead of time! Otherwise, I would really only say I try to make myself more aware of the bad foods im eating. I want to say im lucky to eat almost everything I used to but I would probably be getting better results if I stopped eating the chocolate chips and yogurt pretzels and ice cream(mostly frozen yogurt) every day/other day. 1lb a week isnt bad though. I just try to eat under 100-200calories of those yummy snacks! Portion control is key!
One of my favorite "sweets" is the 10 calorie packs of jello, if you like them.. at night time they really help curve the sweet tooth and have practically NOTHING in them. : )0 -
Nothing less than a good amount of my time.
no kidding! me too0 -

Mmm Cheez-its sucks that most of the yummy things aren't good for us haha. Your looking really good! keep up the good work
TitanGM - nice pic looks like you've giving up plenty of time but its paying off!
ucpg - I dont have enough self control to do the "in moderation" thing. its either I eat too much of ex: chips or I don't at all.0 -

True, but I noticed quickly when I'm on a daily calorie limit that there were many high-calorie foods in my old diet that would not keep me sated long enough. Those things had to go.0
