What's something you've given up since MFP?

Feel free to add me. I miss bagels. I really liked bagels. But when you run the numbers, I just had to walk away.0

I've given up the idea that I had to give anything up.
Although I did stop eating Pop Tarts.0 -
I don't drink juice much anymore since most of them aren't much different from Kool-Aid in their nutritional content. That and wings. But my god do I want some WINGS.0

I havent really given up much, just now eat it in moderation. Now that I see my daughter has some food allergies tho, I may give up some things i have wanted to.
I havent eated Fast Food much either...empty calories and JUNK meat!0 -
I haven't given up anything, but I have given up on eating meals out on a daily basis! I've limited it to maybe 2 times a week!0

Hunger. The constant gnawing hunger of trying to lose weight without any real consideration to how efficiently I was feeding my body. I was happy to give that up, though. Now there are days when I struggle to feed myself enough food.
Oh, you mean specific food items? Hmm, my go-to breakfast used to be a bagel with cream cheese. I gave that up because oatmeal and a fried egg are now giving my body more of what it needs with the same calories.0 -
Oreos!!0

I gave up soda/sweet tea awhile ago...mostly because its loaded with sugar and has no real nutritional value. I'd much rather put those calories elsewhere. I also have vastly reduced my fast food intake. I'm not talking about going to a nice restaurant and having a small steak or chicken but the junk fast food. It's full of sodium and fat...neither of which lead to good health. In general though i eat things i like in moderation.
What i've really given up is the "I'm fat..so whats the point, i will sit here and be fat" mentality. The success stories on here prove that you can change your life. Everyday ordinary people on MFP have lost weight through hard work and will power. If they can do it so can you and i!! And it's not just about weight loss...every step you take towards eating better and being active is a step towards a longer happier life! Our bodies are machines...abuse and neglect doesnt just lead to weight gain it effects your over all mental state and ability to deal with day to day stress.
Good luck with your lifestyle change...remember you are worth the effort!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
I gave up thinking it was an all or nothing attitude! I still eat anything, I dont keep stuff in the house that I think will trigger a binge, and I only bake when I am really desperate!
I gave up thinking that I cannot do this, that it is too hard or that I will ever reach my goals!0 -
Almost 30 pounds!0

I can't say I've given up anything since MFP but i do look at food a whole lot differently since I am adding calories. I try to balance everything within my calorie count.0

I gave up diet coke....I used to drink at least 2 - 3 cans a day. I have had maybe two in the last 10 weeks. I don't miss it and it doesn't taste the same to me now.0

pickles
pickles are good! no carbs, sugars, fat, HIGH potassium! they are actually one of the things i eat if im still hungry after a meal!
But they are crazy high in sodium. I don't snack on them any more either.. I have high blood pressure and the sodium makes it worse..0 -
Excess food. I still and drink everything I enjoyed before, just now in moderation.

Nothing....I just don't allow food to be my reward anymore...
I do not have a single item of food or drink though, that if I think about it a few minutes, and still want it, that I will deprive myself from...has worked so far...I no longer obsess about food!0 -
Definitely the fried foods. When looking at the calorie count, it is just too high for the rewards. In fact, this is something I've done across the board. I wish that more places listed calorie count, it is quite sobering to know what you are eating.0
