LOL, is this from the ad that has a picture of a banana and "5 foods you should NEVER eat"? I hate that ad.
Eat the fruit.
Too funny! That's the exact ad that popped up when I clicked on this post!!! How appropriate I thought!!!  :laugh:0 -

Well if you eat it, it's one less banana in the world to potentially add to my belly fat, so I say yes.0 -

*sigh*. There are no special foods that specifically add or subtract belly fat. If you've got the calories for it, eat the banana. If not, don't. Easy-peasy.0 -
Yeah avoid the banana for belly fat. You should eat something like fried chicken instead.

Don't sit around eating nothing but fruit, but bananas are great! Protein, fiber, potassium, vitamins, not to mention super yummy and tastes great on so many things or just plain by itself! Eat it! :bigsmile:0

I eat one sometimes two bananas a day, and have lost belly fat. A lot of it, actually. I guess I'm unique and special snowflake.
You may very well be a special snowflake. Snowflakes are low-cal though, right?
However, I read a book where it was saying that the fiber in bananas slows down the digestion of the starches in it, making it less likely to spike your insulin levels. They called it "resistant starch."0 -

Great, now I'll have "Axel F" playing in my head all day.
I'm counting calories for the inevitable toe-tapping!0 -

That's the only real difference between "refined" sugars like fruit juices and table sugar, and the sugars found naturally in fruits. Unprocessed fruit sugar tends to be attached to fiber, and the process of detaching it slows absorption.
Well, that and the fact that fruits usually come with vitamins and minerals, so there's some benefit to the body in addition to the energy.0 -
as far as I know bananas are good because the protein it has.
Is this some sort of innuendo?0 -
update: I decided to go for it. I ate the banana.0

If this was a sarcasm/innuendo thread, the whole thing was weak!

What if the OP was really looking for honest advice? There's a lot of conflicting information out there. And a whole bunch of you gave sarcastic replies. Less than helpful.0
