ok i have started dieting and i am aiming for a loss of 1.5 lbs a week, the calorie is about 500, but i've heard that it is best to keep changing your calorie intake like a zig zag each day to trick the body, with the same calories each week but just different each day, if you understand what i mean. This is supposed to be more effective, is there a way of doing this on my fitness pal instead of it just being the same everyday??

I would recommend not trying to "trick" your body into losing weight fast. It's better to change your whole lifestyle in a healthy manner. The whole thing with eating a 200-400-600-800 cycle, for example, is a really ED way of looking at things, and it will inevitably fail (with either binge cycling or anorexia). Don't do it!!!

Fitness Pal gave you 500 calories a week? IF not, why did you choose that number?

I don't understand the 500 calorie. Is that what you are eating? What you need to burn?

I'm guessing the 500 refers to the daily deficit the OP is aiming for? It should be 750 for 1.5 lbs./week loss.

There is no way I know of to set MFP to zigzag your calorie levels but it's easy to do in your head. If MFP has you at say 1300 calories a day, do 1300 some days, 1000 some days, 1600 some days, etc. Just have it average 1300 over the course of a week or so.
