Punk rockers??

Okay... I just HAVE to find some fellow punkers, I know they must be out there. I can't be the only one who works out to Rancid, DRI, SNFU and the likes!

Music is such a huge part of my life and it always creeps it's way in and becomes involved with my other interests. So I'm hoping to find other MFP members who are inspired by punk music!

Anyone?

    ^hahaha!

Of the bands OP posted, I only like Rancid. If I'm listening to punk it's normally The Clash or the Ramones etc.

Not me but, my nephew is. He's a drummer, mowhawk, tats, no peircings yet. I have met a lot of punkers through him and they are a great group of people. If I had not met them I would have crossed the street when I saw them coming, they can look very intiminating to some one who grew up in the fifties. It has been an eye opener to meet this awsome group of young people.. Good luck on your search. Romanes (sp) are a favorite.

Are the kids all hopped up and ready to go? Are they ready to go now? Have they got their surfboards? And are they going to the discotheque a go go?

I grew up on Metal and Straight Edge punk :) As i've gotten older i've gotten more and more goth-looking and most of my friends tend to be goth too, I just never got into Goth music except for maybe the Sisters of Mercy and old stuff like that.

If i listen to music while working out it tends to be metal (viking-metal especially ... nothing like ice giants to inspire some good lifts), i think punk is better for runners in terms of soundtracks.

    Punk rocker!

Post Punk, gutter punk, pop punk, any punk. Though I do find pop punk has steady 4/4 beats more and easier to work out to.

Crass, subhumans, d'generation X (1st album only), Assorted Jellybeans, iggy pop... the list can go on forever.. oh and Atom and his Package. That is punk rock. :)

I got into the music via the Misfits (and early TSOL when they still did horrorpunk songs) <3

It's almost all I listen to when I work out. Mainly stuff like NOFX, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, Good Riddance, and older AFI. I grew up on it too being a skateboarder for so long.

I love punk rock, pop punk, ska punk.

Old No Doubt, Sublime, Rancid, Nofx, old Afi, Alkaline Trio, Horror pops, the distillers, odd bit of Green Day before they turned into a stadium band.

The only genre of music to work out to! :-D

I don't listen to much anymore but in my early twenties back in blighty I was the guitarist in a punk band called Hashwagon. I guess Misfits was our biggest inspiration. We had a blast... good times, good times.

    Social D
    Rancid
    Dropkick Murphys
    NOFX
    Dead Milkmen
    Dead Kennedys
    Misfits
    Sex Pistols

    And on and on.

Which reminds me of something. I was surprised as hell that a Misfit's "Where Eagles Dare" cover is in a Sailor Jerry's rum commercial.

But that's OK. Johnny Rotten was in a British butter commercial too.

Just saw Henry Rollins on tour a few months ago. If I could work out to spoken word without laughing and falling off the treadmill I would...I've had a crush on the man for over 30 years...sigh...

So, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Misfits...all good ipod stuff. Current pop/punk I LOVE right now is Billy Talent, good ole Canadian band...

Can I still say I'm punk at 43??? LOL

yes Flipper and Minor Threat and Black Flag and Cro-Mags and Television
also *kitten* Surfers and Birthday Party and Karp and i'll always have a special place in my collection for Big Black/Shellac, but that's getting off topic.

there are so many interpretations of what 'punk' is.
but that doesn't matter does it?
cuz punk is in the heart.

I saw Guttermouth and Pennywise... and some Rancid, that's good punk.

Some of the bands listed I'd call hardcore (Misfits, etc.). Either way, punk is not dead... glad to see there are others who work out to this type of music as well!

    Signed,

Lucky the Donkey (Guttermouth fans will get that)
