Feeling like a lazy bum

When I first started my journey I was working out 5 to 6 days a week and LOVING it. Lately, I have NOT wanted to work out at all...and I feel like a bum. Anyone have any ideas of how to get out of this rut?! I have A LONG way to go and i'm not ready to quit.... :frown:

Some things that have helped me...
1)Sometimes, you do it anyway. Long term view, remembering the health goals etc., just enough to force yourself to start. Sometimes this is what I need to get going BUT then once I start I'm usually good to go.
2)10 minute rule. Make a deal with yourself that is you still feel crappy after 10 minutes you get to quit. 99% of the time you feel better once you start and will follow through.
    3) Make it part of your commute/routine. I try to ride my bike, run, walk etc. as part of a dailt pattern OR have a gym/pool en route to my job
    4) Try something new? New sport, new route, new location. I.e. change from street running to trail running, or check out a drop in class if you like group fitness.
    5) Recruit comeone to hassle you. My husband is pretty good about this, mostly because he's realized that I can get super *****y if I don't go running.
Hope that gives you some ideas.
NOW GET OUT THERE BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO AND YOU WILL FEEL BETTER AFTER, DAMMIT!

I am totally with you. It is hot hot HOT here right now, and it's SO hard for me to get motivated to make myself even more hot. Luckily, I have a friend that will beat me up if I don't join her for our work-outs. Maybe you need to find a friend with violent tendancies... ;-)

HAHA! Thank you :) I think my main thing is lately i've been so tired after work, playing with my two year old and then by the time he goes to bed all I want to do is crash. Def going to try the 10 minute thing though; and the just do it anyways!

    Thanks again!

Very hot indeed- today the heat index is like 105 here...the last thing I want to do is get even more sweaty than I already am after driving home from work in my non- ac having car. (LEATHER SEATS, Mind you.) Suppose i'll suck it up and do SOMETHING tonight. I tried the friend thing *with multiple friends- but they ALL bail on me after one or two workouts.... grrr*

I was on the couch to 5K program week 4 day 3 when baseball season hit my household and I had one night our of 7 free, then 105 a day weather hit so I couldnt run outside with dying. I lost my will to exercise because I got out of the routine. Football has now entered my every night but I am walking around the track each night for and hour while my son practises. Its not running like before but its something and I can tolerate the heat just walking. Good luck sometimes we have to go backwards to go forward.
