What is your Take-it-easy Exercise?

While I love a good self-made kick in the *kitten* on a regular basis, there are days when my body needs a break! But my mantra is to ALWAYS MAKE AN EFFORT. What do you do as a "break" from kicking your own *kitten* when you still want to burn some calories and feel great?

Walking, coastal walking if I'm really treating myself ... sea air, can't beat it.

Walk or bike ride. Or picking a book up and reading it lazily on the couch. :)

Funny, I was just thinking about what I was going to do today to take it easy but still have a little calorie burn. I may either choose the recumbent bike or elliptical depending on how I feel after work. Then maybe some ab work.

Mowing the grass, riding my horse, cleaning. Pretty much anything that doesn't feel like exercise but still burning cals.

I am just getting started, so my rest day is consisting of stretching my major muscles to remind them that they still work for me!

Well, typically I do hatha yoga, but today I walked for 30 min. and now I'm adding some jumping jacks with frequent breaks for easy cardio.

Oh... and later I'm giving my dogs a bath... but not until their done with their Yoga!

Dog walk in the park, hatha yoga, casual bike ride.

Or just foam rolling the crap out of my IT bands. I figure the amount of grimacing in pain I do equates to a small workout.

Landscaping around the yard, whatever projects are around the house really. Although I'll readily admit that on my 1-2 days off a week I want to do nothing but rest.

It's weights day today but I'm still too sore from really pushing myself two days ago so decided to take it easy and just do 30 minutes of kettlebell swinging. When I finished, I then decided to do 30 minutes of HIIT on the gym bike.

The Core Cardio and Balance Insanity dvd. It's slower than the other workouts. I love it!

Mine is the elliptical. I don't find it as treacherous as the treadmill.

absolutely none. If you aren't prepared to set a PR on a lift or give 100% effort, you have no business being in the gym imo. Anything less than progress is failure.

If you need a break, take a break or plan a legitimate de-loading week where all exercises are low weight for the week. Otherwise, you are just giving yourself an excuse for mediocrity.

or cardio, which is completely different
