does anyone ever keep the weight off? I know about 6 people who have had this done and not one of them has kept the weight off after 2 years.

they look SUPER thin and have health issues at first and then, they just start chubbing out again right around that second year.

granted my sample size is small, but even with 6, you'd think at least ONE would remain thin.

anyone know someone who has kept their super thinness?

None of the 4 people I know who have had weight loss surgery has gained weight again - all of them have stayed thin. The last of them had their surgery 2 1/2 years ago, the first had hers 8-9 years ago. I mean, surgery, that's a pretty serious (and final) step in my eyes, and here in Norway it's not something you just do. All of them had tried their best and this really was the final solution. They all eat their maintenance portions/calories and look great. One of them is even my ex, and he is very keen on maintaining his new, fit self :) So yes, there is hope. As long as people take it absolutely seriously and realize weight loss surgery is the last way out.
