Facebook Hacking

Ugh. my facebook keeps getting hacking attempts by the same person OVER AND OVER AGAIN. It's been over a dozen times now.

Has anyone here ever caught or figured out who was doing it?

It's so annoying and I hate dealing with it but I don't want to delete my account. I have family in Europe that I talk to and use it to share pictures of the baby.

I have security measures already in place and they pretty much need my cell phone to actually get into the account. I get a notification anytime they do it.

They have succeeded 2 times before I set those security measures into place.

Somebody has a serious fetish about me. Lol help.

Your password has to be a mixture of Cap's, lower case, numbers & symbols....ever since I've gone to that I have never had that problem again.

at this point they can't get into my account. It's just a nuisance.

I'm probably going to end up in a Lifetime movie one day.

Have you contacted facebook about it to see what can be done since it's constant? I'm sure if it got serious enough, it can be traced back to an IP address.....
Maybe make it so others cannot search for you? It might help.

I've tried! If you call their number it says: sorry we don't have customer service. They don't really have any other contact info other than their help section.

Yeah I caught who hacked my FB...it was my ex, who deleted friends, added people I didn't know, stupid things like that. When I got control of it back, the ex created fake accounts to message my family and friends to attack them and spread horrible lies.

It was fairly easy to find out who hacked it since I got notification from FB that someone from Clairton, PA signed onto my account.

    Some people are dilholes.

There are new privacy settings that only allow you to log in from "allowed" locations, like your family computer, your phone etc.

You could set that up, then you shouldn't have a problem.

Also, as someone said above, password to contain upper/lowercase and numbers.

One time a facebook email provided me with an IP address of the person's location but it bounced around so that wasn't helpful.

I know it's somebody I know. It has to be.

The last 10 attempts of theirs have failed. So I'm definitely doing it right. They are basically doing the "contact 3 friends for help" thing.

I have my email hidden. I also have my email and facebook set up that if I want to sign on under a different device it text messages my cell phone a code. So this person literally needs my cell phone in their hand to do it.

HTTP and https is a difference of "s" for secure ...but that's for when you enter credit card info to order stuff. Like extra coins n crap on farmville..make sure its HTTPS...
Other than that...take your number OFF your fb account. Make one up. Use 555-555-5555...your family or friends can inbox and ask u if they need it. Your password ..what was mentioned before..also add other.characters in there..like this
p@$SWorD4o3. See? Mix of everything. And CHANGE IT OFTEN!

I've been hacked 3-4 times. Now I am private, password changed every month, no phone # or fake # and even my city is not accurate.

And if you order anything online, make sure HTTP has the S. https, for secure.

    :)

yeah I don't have my number either. Everything is set to private. I doubt the city matters, I'm sure this loser knows where I live.

    Stop downloading porn.

Other than that, make sure your password is a RANDOM string of 16 characters that include special char's (!@#%$%%) and upper and lower case leters (aZaZaZ) and numbers(12345)

    a76^%vBnEEr987&)*

^^ thats a secure password right there.

Also check your computer for Viruses. If someone has a keylogger on their it needs to go. Regardless of what pass you pick they would know. Run some antivirus and anti malware.

This is 100% bull****. There is plenty to gain from accessing nearly anyone's personal information.

The personal account hacks aren't Facebook's problems but reside with malicious software on the client side.

You need to set up their text messaging service, If anyone trys to log in from an unknown device it will send me a text message with a code that I have to enter. One time I got a text message at 3 am..too bad for the hacker because they didn't have the code.

It would be a crazy coincidence otherwise. They always pick the same 3 people to send the notifications to. It's about once a week.

I've also gotten anonymous messages on my blog that are personal and they are on the same days on the facebook attempts.

Seriously, one person is doing this?
    OUCH!
I have never had any such issue. In fact, today, I deactivated my facebook page. Can anybody else relate to this?
You make newer connections rooted in common interest like health and fitness, and then you realize that people you've known forever don't relate or understand. I will keep the great memories, but it was time to move on.
    Arrivederci!
Anyway, I hope you find a way to catch this guy...
