What do you eat before running or working out?

So on my cardio days I start with running and since I'm jobless right now and it's hot, I like to wake up and go early. I've been eating a small bowl of cottage cheese with some fruit before my run. While it's fine for the run, I also usually do a ChaLean Xtreme workout and by the end of that workout, I'm dragging. Then I will make my usual breakfast of poached eggs, ham, a veggie, and fruit. Just wondering what other people who workout early eat. I don"t want to feel full during my run so I try to keep it light. I thought about eating again before the CLX w/o, but I prefer to do all my workouts together. I don't want to have to sit and wait for my food to settle before I go do an intense w/o like CLX cardio is.

Try a protein drink that also has carbs. I think if you are dragging, it may be you need more carbs, especially for cardio workouts.

I'll just have a banana about a half hour beforehand because it's light. If I don't eat something before a workout, especially one where I'll be burning a lot of calories like running, I get really light headed and cannot go on for very long.

I'm eating very small before my runs as it makes me feel horrible while running, however I'm going to have to change it up after I come in I feel really dizzy, so I'm still trying to work it out.

I sometimes have a protein shake afterwards, but a lot of dairy makes my belly bloated.

I've never had water cramps, but I usually chug about 20 oz of water during my run.

I always have a piece of fruit 30-60 minutes beforehand.
