Anyone been to see the new Batman movie, yet?
Just got back from the movie theater, and I have two words to describe it....SUPERFANTABULOUSLY AWESOME!!!!! :glasses: By far one of the best action/adventure movies I've seen in a long time....maybe ever. It was really exciting when I found out halfway through the movie that Tom Hardy was Bane. I have NO IDEA how I didn't know that! I LOVE Tom Hardy! He was fantasic in the role, by the way. If you haven't seen it, you should.

It was pretty good, except the voice of Bain. It wasn't "menacing" sounding, it sounded more like a mix of Sean Connery and Charlie from charlies angels. Very distracting.0

I saw it this afternoon and while it was good, I found it to be the weakest of the trilogy.
The Dark Knight was EPIC and Batman Begins was more engrossing with a better story and flow.
Still, that's like saying it's the worst slice out of a tasty pizza. =-)0 -
I saw it in IMAX at a midnight premiere on Friday; the Universal Cineplex in Orlando held a special screening of the first two-thirds of the trilogy Thursday night, before the premiere. $40 for all three movies, in IMAX, and two sweet posters. So worth it. TDKR was amazing. I never really got into the comic books, so unlike my superior-geek friend with whom I saw the film, my prior knowledge of the canon didn't spoil it for me within the first 40 minutes. He was able to guess the twist, and so spent the ensuing 90 minutes basically playing Plot Point Bingo in his head and knowing what was going to happen next, but he agreed the film was well done nevertheless.
I give Nolan credit for totally reworking the end of the trilogy--if I recall correctly, the Joker was going to be the central villain, but then Heath Ledger had to up and die like that and no one else can follow up that performance. Not for another several years, at least. They had to basically rewrite the final act from scratch. The only thing that bothers me is that Coleman Reese from TDK isn't heard from ever again; there were a lot of folks expecting him to be the Riddler in the third film (his name is Mr. Reese, get it? Say it aloud quickly a few times). But whatever, I liked the third film. The stunt work was incredible...and also gratuitous topless Christian Bale didn't hurt, lol. ;D
SPOILER ALERT!! Don't read further if you're one of those people for whom learning even the tiniest detail about a film you haven't seen will permanently ruin it for you forever more. Oh, also, Snape kills Dumbledore.
I liked Cillian Murphy's (Dr. Crane/Scarecrow from the first film) cameo as the judge in the people's makeshift court.0 -
I'm really surprised that all of you have given some pretty strong criticism. I was blown away by it, but then, I've stayed away from the trailers and entertainment news buzz about the details of the movie. I have to say I disagree strongly that it was the weakest of the trilogy. I was more entertained, more moved, and was kept guessing right up until the end. I didn't have any problems with the flow of the story line. And, I LOVED Tom Hardy as Bane. The voice wasn't distracting to me at all.0

No, Im kinda scared of theaters right now. I can wait for the DVD.0

Just saw it and it was pretty AWESOME, the best trilogy films by far.0

I have to say I thought it sucked. Start to finish. I just couldn't get past the plot holes and bad acting. They should have stopped at 2.0

Meh. I thought it was kind of sh*tty.0

Saw it Friday night. Outstanding!!!0

yeah its silly to think that wearing half a mask and talking in a ridiculous voice is enough to fool people.0 -

It was good -- fun, nonetheless. I had my gripes and concerns.. parts lingered on... others slightly convoluted.. but a fun experience altogether.
I recommend seeing it.0 -

SPOILERS, STOP READING NOW....
Don't want to give away too many spoilers...the biggest ones for me were why did they wait 3 months to set the bomb off? Why did they send the entire (3000 people) police force into the sewers? And how did he get back from that prison in the middle of nowhere?
There are so many more.0 -
Saw it. Thought it was good. Good way to end the trilogy. Still think The Dark Knight is hands down one of the best movies of all time.
Still think Batman 1989 is THE best Batman.0 -
Saw it yesterday. Liked it for the most part however I am more excited for the new Superman next summer, he was always my super hero of choice.0

yeah logic doesnt really follow there except for getting back from prison. im sure he has accounts he can tap into that nobody knows about so all he had to do was get to that city we saw in the distance and he could be home in hours.
but all of these kind of movies had so many gaping plot holes i just choose to acknowledge them then move on.0 -
and just once i'd love for a villain to tell his plot to the hero and then execute him in the next breath so he didnt have a chance to thwart his plans.0

Totally engrossing, and another great script from Christopher Nolan.
A wise decision to rest it after 3 films, but a door to another film was left open right at the end. I hope everyone ignores that and thinks about a new interpretation in 10-15 years time.
Nice to see Cillian Murphy popping up for a couple of scenes.0 -

That was my biggest complaint. They reveal Robin, then leave us hanging. Aaaarrgghh!0 -
Fantastic movie. Its in my top 5 of all time, above Avengers and below Top Gun.0

My wife and I have a 6-week-old daughter, so not yet. We tried to go see it at the drive-in on Saturday, but it was sold out long before we arrived. We did get to see some idiot get his pimped-out yellow pickup truck stuck in a ditch while trying to do a 3-point turn around on a narrow two-lane road, though. :laugh:0

I loved his voice! It sounded somewhat sophisticated and combined with his brute strength I think it made him an enjoyable villain.0 -
I thought it was pretty craptastic movie; Drawn out, and slowwwww.0

I enjoyed it but still think Dark Knight was the best of the trilogy. (then again, I think all middle films tend to be the best of a trilogy because they don't have to clear everything up. Matrix excluded).
Bane's voice was funny at times but it made sense because Bane is not supposed to be just a brute. He is supposed to be Batman's equal in both intelligence and combat.
My main complaint about the movie was that the climax seemed rushed at times. Especially Bane's end.0 -
Fantastic movie. Its in my top 5 of all time, above Avengers and below Top Gun.
I looooooooooved avengers.
I am trying to get to see this batman but finding the right time is troublesome lol.
I loved TDK and I'm expecting great things about this one too. : p0 -

We did go see it. We went to the batman marathon. it started at 6PM with the first one, then the 2nd one at 9PM and the last one at midnight.
However, since I was up at 6:00AM that morning and did not get to rest beforehand, by the time the third one came around I literally started to nod off. Could not keep my head up or my eyes open even though the bits and pieces I did see were awesome.
I feel like I need to go see it again.0
