I've got a Kindle Fire, and get almost all of my books for free through my library card. Yep, just finished 50 Shades last week.

Thanks for the reading suggestions! Adding them to my list!

Made for Sex by Joan Elizabeth Lloyd.

Trouble, Wicked, Sexy Devil, all by Sasha White.

One Wicked Night by Noelle Mack.

What Happens In Vegas by Jodi Kybb Copeland, Anya Bast, Lauren Dane, & Kit Tunstall.

    Tempted by Megan Hart.

    Going Down by Vonna Harper.

    You asked for it!!

Edited to add: these are erotica novels, NOT romance novels.

Also, 50 shades of grey sucks and does NOT portray the BDSM lifestyle accurately AT ALL.

My stepbrother's new wife was talking about 50 Shades of Grey and she made a comment about how the dude says he'd been molested as a child. Ugh. I do *not* get why so many "mainstream" books/movies seek to "justify" the BDSM lifestyle by making those who participate "damaged" in some way.

I agree, but he wasn't really molested as a child. He was neglected as a very young child, adopted into a rich family, and had an affair with an older woman in his later teen years which is where he was introduced to BDSM. Still, for all the raving over the books I was excited to read them and so disappointed.

Ahhh....ok, she didn't make that clear. But still...just, ugh. It has to be something weird, lol. Oddly enough, all the negative things I've heard have made me more curious to read it than the positive LOL. Maybe I can talk someone into loaning it to me....

Not to mention that she let romance get in the way of truly portraying what BDSM is. My opinion and what I got from it was that she didn't even WANT to write about it. She just wanted to skim the edges of a "shocking" lifestyle.

Obviously the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy( I gotta go to Target soon!)

Samson's Lovely Mortal - Free in Kindle store ( Vampire erotica - 200+ pages)

Forever Vampire- Michele Hauf- Again Vampire erotica- checked out at local library

I love supernatural erotica, the more the merrier!
  • I just finished 50 Shades yesterday. I enjoyed it, but I have to say I got tired of the sex scenes. It played a bigger role in the first book, in my opinion, than the rest. After that it was...again?? What possess someone to write stories like that? And I do not believe anyone's sex life is that perfect! Thanks for the ideas for some new books!

I am a huge 50 shades fan (don't judge me!). I loved Bared to You as well and actually listening to the audio while I do Couch 2 5k. Waiting on the sequel. Sleeping Beauty was just bizarre IMO.

For fun cheap/ reads (non-erotica) I like Heather Wardell and she just did a part of her series (although you do not have to read them in order) called Lucy Wagner gets in Shape, where the side plot (other than cheesy romance) is her training for a marathon. Kind of fun to read with MFP going on.

I LOVE the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy by Anne Rice. I read a ton of erotica but really hate romance as I don't believe in the validity of the notion.

ha ha love this thread. Am onto book 2 of 50 shades, it is ok, but want to finish it. The formula is normal for dysfunctional love affairs - rich young billionaire with dark past and young naive virginal college girl.......live happily ever after. Another book which stunned the reading world for a while (and the author was anonymous for a while, until she finally did decide to admit she wrote it) was The Bride Stripped Bare by Anonymous (Nikki Gemmel). My book club was not too happy with it, but it did give us lots to talk about. Also "God's Call Girl" by Carla Van Ray, actually an autobiography of a nun who became a prostitute. Intense reading and again caused some conflict in the book club.

I love a good smutty book. Favorite authors are Lori Foster, Vicki Lewis Thompson, and Gina Wilkins.

Also love Janet Evanovich. Not as much smut, but plenty of anticipation.

ha, I just read a few books in this series about a demon (succubus) who gets kicked out of hell (or something like that, maybe she ran away from hell?) so she becomes an exotic dancer.I read the first one quite a while ago and just read the next two. I don't read a lot of romance or erotica anymore but I liked these.

It's the Hell On Earth series by Jackie Kessler. The first one is called Hell's Belles

Does anyone read the Anita Blake books by Laurell K Hamilton? They started out as pretty good supernatural reads and deteriorated into pure porn. Still ok, but I liked the supernatural stuff! Her other series about the fairy princess (Meredith Gentry) is pretty similar. Both characters have many male partners...at the same time...and there are very important, supernatural reasons for it lol!

I stumbled upon Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty books in my mother's closet when I was ten. I was halfway through the first one when she finally noticed exactly what I was reading. I never did find them in the house again, heh.

Ha, that's funny! My grandma gave me Valley of the Dolls along with some other books when I was 10 or 11 lol. Drugs and sex, thanks Grandma!

Have you checked your library for Kindle? I just put the first Sleeping Beauty book on hold through my library for Kindle. I do belong to a very big library system, but even if your system isn't that big you might want to check it out!

ETA: My Canadian friend said they still don't have library lending for Kindle yet up there :(
