TOM problem...

So the problem is...that I don't have it anymore. Mine stopped about 2 or 3 months ago back when I was on a very low unhealthy diet. But now I'm eating normal again and everything else is back to normal down there too except that. I'm kinda worried and I'm wondering if any of you have had the same problem or know anything about it? Like when I should expect to get it back, how long I should wait without seeing it before I go to my doctor, will it come back and could it cause any future health problems?

My one experience with an unhealthy diet where my TOM stopped, I ended up being preggo I would say give your doctor a call, they might say hey give it another few months or maybe they will want to see you. I don't have any real good advice but when I saw your post it gave me a flashback of finding out I was pregnant. It can't hurt to consult a doctor.0

Call your doctor, even if there's 0% chance you could be pregnant. It could be caused by your previous unhealthy eating habits (even though you're "eating normal" again... what's your definition of normal?), or it could be something else entirely.
Rule of thumb: if you have to ask the internet if they think you should see a doctor, you should see a doctor.0 -
CALL YOUR DR!!
I only say this because I stopped getting my TOM... and didn't get it for almost two years. Not going to lie, I loved it (who enjoys their TOM?), but eventually I had to go in because I started experiencing additional symptoms (lactating for one, but I knew I could not be pregnant) and it ended up being an issue where I need to take daily medication.
Most likely, this will not be the same extreme but I have learned that if you are concerned DO NOT WAIT!!0 -
thanks for your answers...I am willing to go to my doctor, I would just prefer to put it off as long as possible because it would be awkward getting my mom involved and I don't really wanna pay 40$ unless I really have to. So I still need to know how serious is this?
I haven't really found any articles online about this so if any of you have more info that'd be really helpful..0 -
I stopped mine due to anorexia when younger. They should return when your body has a suitable amount of fat back and you have been eating adequately for a while. I would give it another few months. If you exercise a lot, that could also delay it. I have been skipping a few of mine lately because I dropped lower in weight and was exercising a lot, but I would not worry too much about it at this point in time. If they are not back after another few months, then consider seeing the doctor in case it is connected to something other than weight loss (although I doubt very much it is). They do tend to stop when you go below a weight your own body is happy with. For me, mine stop if I go too much below 126 Ibs and I am almost 5'10.0

Yeah I'm around 120-124 normally and this started when I dropped about 20 pounds.. So am I gonna have to gain weight back to get my periods? Because I worked pretty hard to get to this weight and I really don't wanna gain it all back0

Depends how tall you are. If you are not underweight, you shouldn't need to gain it back, but I note you are working out 3 times a day, and that right there could be an issue as well, and also be tied into your cravings. I am seeing a trainer and experiencing these cravings tends to be an offshoot of the period of restriction...the body is trying to grab back what it lost when you restricted a lot and also, working out so much, it is crying out for fuel. Give it a few months, as said, make sure you are eating enough to cover your exercise, totally, and I suggest not aiming to lose anymore weight for now until they return, you don't want to mess up your fertility for life.0 -
So... are you saying that you weigh 100 lbs right now? Unless you're under five feet tall, you are definitely underweight... make sure you're getting the right number of calories each day, and enough healthy fats. Not getting your period for a prolonged time is actually not good for your body, much as we'd like to think it's great.

Hilarious, but absolutely true!0
