This team is full of biggest losers! You all inspire us!
Losing weight is hard. But having people who are all in the same boat, makes it easier. We all have are slip ups, especially this time of year. But we all encourage each other to keep going. 2010 belongs to all of us!!! We can and will acheive our goals.
We already started our resolution to better ourselves, so we are ahead of the game. So, let's finish 2009 strong and go into 2010 like the champions I know we are!!! :drinker:

    Happy Holidays!

    What he said!!

Well, to follow up my eye dr. appointment from yesterday: Today I stopped in at my regular dr's to have my blood drawn for a diabetes check. My A1C (which measures your levels basically over the past few months) was 5.6. That is normal for a non-diabetic person! Granted, I am still taking daily medication, but still! I am pleased with myself. A year ago my level was 7.2 on the same medication, and the dr. was discussing sending me to a specialist. I told him to give me a few months before I would agree to go, and started a healthier lifestyle, and here I am! As I told my son in law today, if I could just get past this plateau I seem to be on and start losing again, I would be a near perfect woman!

Got to go log what I ate tonight. Best wishes to all!

Mary you go girl, I am so glad things are getting better for you.

Our new puppy is sleeping a little more each night so I am getting up less with her, just relearning the little tricks to dealing with a puppy.

We have our Christmas lunch at work tomorrow. I am going to have a little tast of things but not eat until I feel miserable. I know I have the will power to not stuff myself

Sounds like everybody has great plans for the holidays! :flowerforyou: I hope all of you get in some R&R. You deserve it!

I'm going to my mom's on Christmas Eve. We get up early on Christmas and open presents - just the two of us. Then later we go to my grandma's for Christmas with the family. They always have tons of food ... but I've decided to only eat the holiday-specific stuff ... stuff I can't get year-round. Christmas cookies ... mmm!! I'm letting go a little that day, but not stuffing myself like usual. My bf is coming to Christmas with me for the first time ... he has been to Thanksgiving for three years, but Christmas always felt like "family time." But, the family invited him and he was really happy... so I think it will turn out nice.

smadag1 - we're having our holiday luncheon today, too! Our second one. :grumble: But, I did great at the last one, so I have a plan for this one! Like you said - a little taste of things. I also cut back a few calories on breakfast and am having less snacks today so I can make up for going over if I do.

That is a good idea i did not even think of cutting back on breakfast and my mornin snack. My brains must still be asleep on my pillow

I would like to be asleep...Maybe I will go take a nap. Hope all is going well for all of you. The interesting thing I have found lately is that by not exercising I don't feel as hungry. Go figure. I really really want to go exercise right now, but since I can't I will just play on the computer.

Keep up the inspirational talk. I sure have needed it--Take care everyone!

I think it is my non exercised body that is currently talking, but I printed out training info for a 10k and half marathon last night. I have decided I want to run 13.1 miles??!!:noway: I may just be crazy! There is a half marathon in town during April and I believe that will be just enough time to train--if I ever get to exercise again...

So a question for all of you. You are walking in the kitchen and see your most favorite candy ever, just looking at it makes you salivate and remember the wonderful texture and taste. What do you do?? Of course you are starving, you haven't eaten for a little bit, you don't know what you are going to eat and it is there and tempting.

I would like to know your first reaction and then what you do about it. As I am a see food eater I need some assistance to figure out the best course of action...

    Thanks!!:flowerforyou:

Put the candy in a cupboard or the refrigerator or the trash immediately, then fix myself a cup of hot tea and sit down to think rationally about what I can eat. If I still think that I need it after taking time to sit and think about it, eat some of it, or I will pig out later. But 99% of the time, the time it takes to drink the tea is enough to make my rational brain kick in.

Sanifrey you are looking great. I have a question have or do you have any problem with excess skin?? I'm starting to get rid of mine I just hope that it keeps going down as I keep loosing weight.

Good news: I finally got my treadmill. Now to get it out of my Durango ahhhh. I love it when my husband works however that means he can't get the dang thing out of my Durango for me. he he. I'm putting it right in site #1 and also its going to be in front of my TV so I can walk while watching my shows or movies. I would like to do a 5k this summer and I can't wait for the challenge. I'm going to call my doctor next week and see if she will check my thyroid. I have been really tired lately and I can just tell a difference in my body. I have had thyroid problems for almost 7 years. Never fun.

Just thought that I would pop in and say hi. Very busy today, sewing pajama pants for gifts, making spicy pretzels for parties, and making suet pudding. Ho ho ho!!
I have a mental image of everyone on this thread in Christmas overdrive today, and it will keep me going. Happy weekend!

And - here's to smart choices!

Congrats on the treadmill! Be careful getting it out & be careful using it!! Don't push yourself too much. As far as loose skin, my only problem area is where my 2 c sections were, but that's to be expected. But, hopefully that'll all come together in time. It's getting better & better so I can't complain. You're doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

my c-section is where my big problem is also. I have the treadmill in the house now which I'm thrilled about. I still have lots of housework to do and running around so I don't know how much I will be able to get on it but after the christmas rush is done its going to be in use a lot.

I think you will love having the treadmill! I started getting up earlier in the morning to use mine and I felt so much better during the day and felt like I had so much more time too! You may want to try just 15 minutes every morning this week and see how it works, make it a habit and in the morning you have no excuses!!

I popped a couple stitches --I am so sick of this! I was just standing and fixing my hair and they went. :explode: I feel like I can't get anything done, it is driving me crazy!! I have them butterflied for now but I guess I will be heading in to the doctor on monday to see what they want to do. I thought I had been careful too, anytime I have felt pulling I try to sit or lay down and rest. I am afraid my weigh in won't be pretty tomorrow...I hope for the best.:ohwell:

So lastnight I found a home for my treadmill right next to my chair. I moved a couple things around and got it in the corner right where I wanted it. Well not its in the corner and I can't get the damn thing out of the corner. The wheels are on the back not on the front. So tonight my husband is going to flip it and see if we can put the wheels in the front instead so I can get it in and out without a problem. Lets hope that works otherwise I will have to find another home for it. I really want to keep it in my living room that way I can look at it and watch TV also. My husband suggested that I walk backwards  he is funny like that.

I have been working hard on the house to get it ready and right now that is enough exercise for me.

j-g, it sounds like you have everything pretty well figured out. Sometimes housework can be a lot more daunting to exercise to me  Thanks for your sympathy. Hopefully I have not been complaining too much. I have just been sooo frustrated with not being able to do what I want to do.

Only 4 more days and it will be Christmas, I hope everyone is ready. I think I am.

Happy weighin tomorrow. I am downing the water today to hopefully not have any water weight tomorrow. Good luck everyone!!

You are not complaining too much. We all have issues as I have for several weeks or should I say months now. You will get it. I'm not going to push myself too hard till after christmas now because I just have way too much to do.

I have had too many rest days over the past two weeks due to shopping hospital visits, snow, and now I hurt my hip sledding.....I'll rest it today and see how it goes - done ok with food so I am not worried just frustrated and missing that me time!

I must appologize to my team mates I fell off the wagon last week and did not exercise at all:blushing: . I am back this week though and am ready to get back to work. I am making a pledge to myself no more eating lunch out when I am at work. I will start bringing my lunch again and make healthy choices. I am so damn frustrated with not having lost in months that I need to do something before I want to give up again. I will do the shred tonight and probably my ab circle while the guys eat the stew that my DH put in the crock pot last night to cook.

Hope yall have a great day

It sounds as though we have all had a difficult week!! Lets dust ourselves off and start fresh! Amazingly I didn't gain this week. :noway: I thought I might have, although I did increase the number of vegies I was eating... hmmm. We can do this. We can make it, and we can still pull ahead of the other teams!:glasses: :smokin: Lets win this!:drinker:

I appologize to my Beautiful Blue team, I am up one pound this week. I blame it all on cookie baking all weekend. I guess I tried too many samples. :ohwell:

I'll work hard the next 4 days and take a little break on Christmas. I have a Christmas Eve party, but I plan on bringing a tray of veggies and shrimp. That way I know I have something to snack on. 7 large shrimp are 80 calories according to the food diary, so that's not so bad.

    Hi everybody,

I read somewhere that it is good to take a week off exercise if your body feels tired. It's kinda like a reset button after working out really hard for 8-12 weeks. It also allows us to analyze and see what we can do better or how to do things differently.

Here's to a good week all!

Here is the link to the board where we all post our charts. We are in third place as far as total percent lost goes, but last week we were in first for the weekly weight lost. Lets get it in gear and show what we are made of!!
