Wedding day successes!

I really think your goal is just as important if it's 10lb or 100lb! We're all here to get healthier at the end of the day!
Congrats ladies, lots of brides-to-be out there :flowerforyou:0 -
Wow to all those pictures! You all look stunning and I love love the transformation!! Beautiful dresses!
I got engaged a couple of weeks back and we have set the date for next year August, so there is plenty of time for me to lose as close to 100lbs as possible  I have started MFP a couple of weeks before my SO proposed, but it definitely has given me more determination to look good on my wedding day and finally get rid of all this weight. Especially seeing as we would like to start a familie soon after as well, and that certainly will be easier with less weight!
Apart from setting the date and booking the venue in Germany (my hometown ) we have not made any more plans - so all the exciting times lie ahead of me - can't wait to hear what you're all are planning for your big day (or for the ones that are married: what was the best part of your day, what would you do differently?
Good luck to all of us! :happy:0 -
I'm getting married in 5 weeks. I wont be at my final goal by then but I set a smaller goal of 164lbs i'm 11 lbs away but would be happy if im 170 on the day.
I just bought my dress on Sunday too! Get to try it on Friday when I get to my mams0 -
I just returned from my honeymoon this past Monday and just got back on the MFP site/boards...not because I'm not interested in finishing my weight loss journey...
...but because I thought my mother was going to kill me if I didn't maintain my size when she fitted my wedding dress! Yes, the blessed, holy saint that she is, my mother made my wedding dress by hand when I could find nothing in the stores that I liked. (Everything was too froofy for a simple country princess like me...)
I started my weight loss program in July 2011, after I saw photos of myself at my family reunion:
Here's one from February 2011; I think I may have been even heavier then:
The second is the one showing off my engagement ring (I was engaged on March 31st, 2012, so we could tell everybody on April Fool's Day and see who believed us.)
I would post pictures from the wedding, but unfortunately Facebook is blocked at work, so I'll get back to you...
I did not expect to get married when I began the weight loss, but I knew it was probably coming. My goal then was to reduce a lot of the health risks I had at the time (and am now medication-free!). As I got closer to becoming engaged, my focus definitely shifted to looking good on the big day, and 65 lbs. down was simply phenomenal (even though I didn't reach my goal of 90).
The family who had seen me at the reunion in 2011 saw me 65 lbs. lighter in 2012. THAT was the feeling I was going for!0 -
Ditto My day is August 31, 2013.0

Welcome back! Congratulations to you and your new hubby on your wedding!:drinker:
I hope you had a great time on your honeymoon! I can't wait to see the pictures of your success! Congratulations on your successes so far. That's a great accomplishment!0 -
bump I am getting married June 1, 2013. Amazing work ladies..You are all so motivating !!0

I went from 134 lbs to 120 on my wedding day. Granted I gained it all back and more, at least I looked good that day ;-)0
-
I admit it, I mainly came in to see the dresses :ohwell: haha.
Stunning dresses, stunning ladies, well done!0 -
You ladies all look beautiful!!
I managed to lose 55 pounds before my wedding and was the smallest I'd ever been in a long time, 50 pounds may not sound like much but I'm only 5'2" so it was the difference between being quite overweight and being thin. (there is a picture in my profile)0 -

I am taking the same journey. My wedding date is April 6, 2013! When I first started my weight loss I was about 140+ (I didn't weigh myself once I saw 140) and when I joined my fitness pal I was down to 130, now I am 120! This was my goal weight but I would love to reach my UGW of 115 for the wedding. Or if not, at least tone up!
Good luck and stay focused.
By the way I'm only 4'11'' so 140 was not good.0 -
I didn't start losing for a wedding, but my wedding is also in 2014. I'd like to get down 15 more but only if I don't look ill. I started out at 5'10 224lbs and now I weigh 166.90
-
Wow! That is awesome for all the women and men out there working towards this goal. I am in a great relationship and I do want it to end up in a marriage. Maybe in a way, I can do my weight loss for that possible day too. It would be amazing to fit in a beautiful dress of my choice, not one that I feel that I have to wear to fit my body.0

First off congrats to everyone on this thread that are recently married or soon to be married! I got married last August and lost about 40 of the 100+ lbs I wanted to lose before the big day. Was I at my weight goal on my wedding day? definitely not. Did I still feel beautiful, loved and unbelievably happy?? Damn right! I wish every single person here the best of luck on their journeys! Enjoy every second of your day regardless of what size your wedding dress ends up being. You will be stunning no matter what!
Now for some pictures!

Hi ladies, I'm joining you all - my wedding is 6.29.13, and I'm working to get at least 20 lbs off - 30 if I don't look ill. This is great inspiration. My dress is just a little snug on me, so I'm really hoping to lose the back and boob fat so I can fit into it! =p
I'm mostly dieting and doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. Anyone have any particular arm, chest and back exercises they want to share?0 -
I did it!
Feel free to friend me!
I started my journey in June of 2011. I received my pictures back from an engagement photo shoot and couldn't believe that the person in the photos was me. I felt huge and wasn't happy. My weight loss journey started with wanting to look good in my wedding pictures and I am continuing it because I want to be happy and healthy.
Wow! So beautiful! You (and your gown) are gorgeous! Amazing work.
Thanks!0 -
My wedding is 7.6.13 and I want to be a size 8. I'm currently at a 12, so I can do it0
-
Congratulations....you can do it.0

Congratulations to everyone! Honestly, while in my mind, I knew I wanted to lose weight to be healthier, I joined MFP because I wanted to buy a regular sized dress.
A little bit of background. This was me at my best friend's wedding in September 2011. I was 242lbs here, give or take.
Started MFP in January 2012 at 235. My goal was to be 199.9 on my wedding day, which was June 2nd, 2012.
Made it to 212 into a size 14W wedding dress. Woot. Small victories.
Still have a little way to go, but very happy and felt beautiful on my wedding day.
To all those on their journey, good luck! You're all beautiful!0 -

There was about 6 months between these two pictures. I'm happy I lost some of the weight, but I know I could have done more! Oh well, the pictures came out great and it was such a fun day! I's 5'2" and 180 when I started down to 160ish for the wedding.
@Chrysten - You look divine!!0 -
