Let's share! I love to talk about my furry babies.

Chua:

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/4760/chuacw7.jpg

Border Collie/German Shepherd mix? We adopted her from PetSmart when she was 10 weeks because she was definitely the floppiest out of her 6 brothers and sisters. Now she’s a year and a half old and still floppy and silly as ever. Not real good at listening to us on the leash, and she can climb a chain link fence like nobody’s business, but she’s such a sweet girl and SO awesome on trips – especially when we leave that stupid leash at home! It’s like she’s made to pull and just can’t stop…

Coy:

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/539/coybp2.jpg

Dachshund/Pitbull Terrier mix? He was our abused foster dog through a rescue organization a couple months ago, but he fit into our family SO perfectly that we couldn’t stand to give him up. Where Chua is loyal to my husband, Coy is all mine. He loves to snuggle up with me after Hubby leaves in the mornings and is all around a great little buddy! Still working on learning some commands and not to be scared around new people, but he is so so eager to please.

Monte:

http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/2382/montepo6.jpg

When I was working at a vet clinic last year, a guy walked in and dumped a very tiny (4 week old?) kitten with us that he found in the street. I agreed to drop it off at the no-kill shelter after work – when I got there they told me he would be put down because he has too many toes!! I couldn’t believe they didn’t realize how cute his humongous paws make him! He’s 7 months old now and sporting 2 extra toes on each front paw and 1 extra on each back paw. Little dude is CRAZY, but he has plenty of cuddly moments to make up for his shenanigans. He particularly loves sneaking up on the dogs and smacking them in the face so they’ll chase him.

Mr. Eko:

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/9702/ekoaf4.jpg

Our fat cat. He’s 2 now, but when we got him at 6 months he could barely walk two steps without having to stop and rest. Poor guy had been hit by a car and his leg healed very poorly. I saw him at the adoption center 4 weeks in a row and petted him – but when the lady told me “today is his last chance, nobody wants the poor guy” I just couldn’t leave him there! Even though I was a college student getting ready to move across country… Out of that cage he gained a lot of his strength back (and a lot of weight) and became our super awesome fluffy boy. He’s the only animal in the house that never gets in trouble. His favorite activity? Kneading your stomach while you watch TV.

ps - anyone know the coding we need to use to make the images show up in the post?

yep, coding for images is a follows

    <img src= "(url here)">

it stands for image source so it's easy to remember. you need the carrots and the quotes around the url but not the parenthesis. hope that helps... and hopefully it doesn't show jacked up when I post this since I put the coding in...

3 year old Yellow Lab. We got her in Italy, she's and Italian Franch mix, looks a little different from the US dogs. She goes everywhere with me. My husband and I even took a tour of the Napa (CA) wine country last summer, going only to winneries that were dog friendly... Pics in my profile

I have two cats. A black and white long haired male name Andre' Thomas and a female short haired striped cat name Judy Michelle (actually she belongs to my son but I keep her). I'll have to have my son upload some pics of them because I don't know how. I got Andre' when he was a baby from someone giving away kittens in front of WalMart. We got Judy from a friend who found her and rescued her. Apparently she almost died from flea infestation.

Meatball is my 4 year old male pug. He totally rocks. Probably the chillest most laid back dog I have ever had.

Mathilda is my 3 year old fawn pug. She's the Daddy's girl. She's laid back also, but is a little more skittish than Meatball. If she can get on your lap she'll find a way...seriously, it's amazing...she's like 'POOF!!!' on your lap.

I had a 3 year old Sugar Glider up until a little bit ago, his name was Sherman. I loved him, he was bonded to me and I carried him in pounch around my neck pretty much everywhere I went. He was awesome. A friend of mine 'borrowed' him to play with (happened a lot) and he ended up feeding him Coca-Cola. Sherman didn't survive. (No pictures posted of him, but here is a link to a website about sugar gliders just in case you haven't seen one, best pets aside from dogs, ever. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_gliders)

Aw, I LOVE this topic!!! My husband and I have two dogs, a year old puggle named Yoda (pug/beagle mix) and a 6 month old pug named Pearl. They are our babies and we love them to pieces. They are super spoiled too...lol. Probably have more toys than some small children:tongue: Actually, Yoda went in for his year check up and needs to lose 4 pounds. We thought it would be funny to get him a MFP page...lol. But we wont.

    Sarge,
Where do you buy sugar gliders? Can you get them at a pet store or do you have to get them from a breeder. I've been reading up on them and I think my hubby would love one. And his birthday is in June.

I got mine from a local breeder here in my area. Most pet stores can carry them if they have an exotic pets license, and they generally cost in the area of about $200.00USD. My suggestion is to look in the local paper, from time to time you can find breeders advertising them, just make sure you get a really young one. This way they can actually bond to you and your families. As unbonded adults they tend to be good pets but when they bond to you it is a whole new experience. Keep in mind that they are nocturnal and will bang around and play ALL NIGHT LONG. If you have people in your family who are night owls, it helps a lot, and the gliders love it. They are prone to depression if you don't spend enough time with them, and it can take upwards of 6-8 months for them to get over their 'wildness'. I can also tell you that if you can push through the time it takes for them to bond, you won't have a more loyal and fun pet. I miss Sherman desperately. :frown:

Nocturnal would work great. John usually gets home from work around 3:30 AM and doesn't go to bed until around 6:30 AM. We had a pet rat named Neeka and she actually ended up being one of the best pets we've ever had. We've considered getting another one, but they only live two years, so that's sort of deterred us. Thanks for the info.
    So sorry about Sherman:frown:

We have two dogs... Kody is a 6 year old Border CollieXYellow Lab. He's our 'firstborn' and, while energetic (understatement!) is so intelligent and sweet he's worth it! Blue is our new puppy, a Border CollieXBlue Heeler, he's almost 3 months now.

We have 3 adult cats, Katie is a light gray bobtail calico and her brother Simon is a beige tabby. Then there's little, orange, ordinary Gary (don't tell him that!) And Katie has 3 gorgeous kittens right now, about a month old. She was courteous enough to deliver them on our guest bed! Yuck!

And my pride and joy, Sullivan, is my 4 year old gelding, a PaintXBelgian cross, standing 16.2 hands high and weighing in at almost 1400 lbs. I also have his half sister, a registered 2 year old Paint filly.

That's it for now, but we're also known as the Zoo around here!

We have an 8 month old long haired kitten that is all black. He is super hyper and "bitey", but very sweet when he chooses to be. He hangs out with his tounge sticking out a little. Kind of funny to see a little black furry head with a little pink tounge in the middle.

Oops... he must have known I was talking about him and ran over the computer. Ha!

I have 2 cats, you can see their photos on my profile

The big white guy is Ciao, he is very sweet, loves to give kisses and be petted but he doesn't like to cuddle in your lap, which makes me saaaaaad  He is 3 years old and I have had him for 2 of those years.

The little grey kitty is Libi, she's just 6 months old, we got her at about 7 weeks from a humane society. She is so cuddly and sweet... and rambunctious! Just yesterday she had the big surgery, poor thing. But she's doing great today, even caught her wrestling with her brother

    Three for me!
Bodie - Black/Silver German Shepherd. My big baby. Keeps me company when my baby is away.
Sasha - Black/Tan German Shepherd. Just turned a year and has more puppiness to grow out of. But loves, loves, loves my boys.
Lucky - Maine Coone Cat. The laziest thing on four feet until it's bedtime (mine) and then, lets play. 10 going on 11 and talk about wanting his life!!

At some point will add another four legged critter, hopefully of the whinnying variety!!
