Hi everyone,
Well let me start off by telling you a little about me. In the past 4 1/2 years i've managed to gain about 50+ lbs. My official weight is about 220 lbs. I think most of my weight gain came from working at the mall and CONSTANTLY eating fast food. I am literally DISGUSTED with how big I've let myself get. I'm wearing a size 16 now which is the biggest I've ever been. I've tried dieting/going to the gym before but after awhile I just quit, with no results.
Since then I've gotten a receptionist job where I sit on my butt all day lol. I am determined to lose weight this time. I've cut off sodas and fast food for about 3 weeks now. I started walking, did some Zumba and now taken advantage of my gym membership.
Also, the thing that really gets me down is I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 years ago. Basically I have cysts in my ovaries, I don't always get my period, I have a higher chance of being infertile and it's twice as hard for me to lose weight than anyone else.
This often gets my VERY depressed. I start thinking about my boyfriend of 4 1/2 leaving me. Eventually he is going to want kids(he is almost 25 and I am almost 22) and I worry what if I am not able to give him kids? Will he leave me? I want to be able to have kids so bad so I need to change FOR ME AND MY FUTURE.
I would love to hear Everyone's diet and workout plans just starting off. I don't want to go over the top and give up so baby steps.
If anyone else that has been diagnosed with PCOS please feel free to message/add me as I could use as much support as I can get. I will be there to support you as well!
Thanks for reading everyone XOXOXO

Hi, feel free to add me if you'd like, I have PCOS and am part of a group on here of other women with PCOS, it sucks but it's not impossible to lose weight, nor is it impossible to get pregnant, so do not fret, you are still very young and have time to work on things. I will tell you my experience, that I did the metformin, BPC, spiralactone, then I just got sick of taking all these prescriptions. Quit them all and went to acupuncture every week for 6 months, acupuncture worked for me, I hadn't lost a lick of weight but was finally ovulating and it was so relaxing (which probably helped as well). If you'd like an invite to the group, let me know.0

I have a friend who has PCOS and just became pregnant. She also has struggled with weight. I am also a size 16 and HATE it!!! I would love to wear cute skinny girl clothes and I WILL sooooooon. I have probably every exercise video out there, bikes, gazelles, weight benches and got rid of them all here and there. I am determined to finish what I have wanted for about 10 years now. I am always happy to add anyone that I can encourage and that can encourage me.0

Hi, I am 51 years old and way back when they didn't tell you it was PCOS they were kind of vague. I have two children who I had with no intervention, took a while to get pregnant but I did it naturally. I have a daughter who has PCOS as well and she had no intervention with her first and did 6 months of Clomid to get the second one. It is not always an infertility diagnosis.
Now the weight issues that go along with it. I strongly advise persistance and hard work. I have lost large amounts of weight in the past then I back slide and I always gain a LOT more when I gain. At my age its harder to lose, since the beginning of the year I have lost 20 pounds, my 31 year old daughter has lost 35 in just over 3 months. Its simply easier to do when you are young and your metabolism hasn't started working even harder against you.0 -
I also have PCOS & it does make gaining easy & losing hard. I gain weight eating healthy & working out if I just barely go over my bmr which is stupid that I can gain 10 lbs in a month by being healthy & working out. I can eat at 1200 calories for 3 months & the scale won't budge but if I cut back on carbs then the weight comes off. Only problem is that is not very sustainable bc I like carbs. I'm trying to figure out a balance bc I've never even able to maintain the same weight neither up or down. I currently take yasmin Birth control pills to regulate my periods & spironolactone to regulate my hormones0
