You're NOT the only one--I'm only 10 pounds away from my goal, and I still feel like it might be nice to go back to the way I was, eating what I wanted and sleeping in each day. But you have to remember that you're doing this for YOU. I've gained a lot more than a small waist. I've grown in confidence and courage--once you see that you can lose the pounds, you really feel like you can conquer the world! (or at least my little corner of it.) I hope you keep with it; it's a daily battle, but in the end you'll come out stronger.0

I prioritize the small non-scale victories in order to realize all the changes in my body. I found they happened very quickly and continue to happen quite regularly. Things like not feeling hungry at bedtime, being able to push myself 5 steps further in a sprint, not being out of breath climbing my hill of doom etc. It gives me the energy and strength to keep going.0

Depends on what you mean by change. If you mean weight and measurements, then nope, you're not alone. My body is slow to show changes. BUT, you have to foucs on all the changes. I have more energy, I'm stronger, more flexible, etc. I can feel my legs holding me up better than they have in years. Please don't give up. I know how frustrating it is, but we have to keep moving forward.0

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU SAID LADIES !!!
Ive just joined myfitnesspal and never thought anyone would reply
Its so true , we gain more than just a small waist, we more strength and feel better about who we are !
soehlerking your so close ! I guess your body takes time to realise whats going on. Most of us think we gained weight so easily but no it was a process , it started somewhere , same as loosing it takes time but its worthit though.
I feel so encouraged now.. Lets keep going and keep looking healthy and feeling beautiful !0 -
my problem seems to have been portion control, so i have not had to change what i eat all that much. i can eat anything i want, so long as i plan my day's food in advance so that the numbers fit. i've probably eaten more chocolate on this diet than in a whole year beforehand!
so im enjoying the diet. it doesnt feel like a diet, and the weight is falling off.
Ive also noticed changes in my body. whilst the changes are not happening as quickly as i would like, im losing 2lbs a week and so i know i am going to reach my goal weight if i keep going. i measure myself and i take pictures regularly, and wear the same clothes in each picture, so that i can see that my body IS changing. im noticing huge improvements with regards to fitness, because im carrying 20lbs less when exercising.
by visualising how healthy i will be and how much better i will look, im getting along just fine. Maybe i just haven't hit that emotional wall yet, but I'm feeling great right now.0 -

I think about giving up all.the.time. But I take that thought and squish it!
I have been incredibly discouraged as of late but realized I am looking to the scale to give me affirmation. Yeah, that's not worked so well. Right now I am focused on non-scale victories. My son has cerebral palsy and requires crazy amounts of lifting. 2 months ago I felt like I was having cardiac arrest every time I picked him up. Now I don't. My clothes fit better, I have more energy, instead of reaching for a cookie I hit the gym. I even look forward to working out....gasp! I even look at a flight of stairs differently!
Sweat is your fat crying. Now I'm in the business of making it cry as much as possible!0 -
I have really found that the before/after pictures that people post keep me really motivated. I don't think a day goes by that I don't look at at least one transformation. I have lost motivation and thought that the 50 pounds I have to lose seems like climbing Mt Everest but then I see a before/after picture where a person has lost 50, 75, 100 pounds or more and I think "IF THEY CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT."0
