YOU ! but inverted.... Have you ever thought about stress this way ?
There is a theoretical model about stress called the inverted U theory, that states that Imagine an inverted U, you get a normally distributed curve.* On the left you have low stress that can be linked with inaction, letting go and sedentary behavior. * On the right you have chronic high level stress which is also bad for…

Menu Planning
I would like to preplan my daily food in the same setting as the diary. I suppose I could put what I plan to eat in the diary but i wish there was a way to indicate "this is what I plan to eat." Then I could adjust and check what I actually ate that becomes the diary. The diary feels like past tense. Indicating as…

How can I tell the bully in my brain to scram?
Every night I lay in bed and drift off to thoughts of bouncing out of bed, high-impact exercise, a cool down with my best dog buddy, shower & off to kick the day in the butt. But, in reality, I get out of bed late, brush my teeth, feed my best dog buddy and I am deflated. I get on the scale, no loss. I have a cup of coffee…

Does anyone else feel like they keep getting in their own way?
Lately I’ve been feeling like I’m getting in my own way of my weight gain goals. When I’m stressed out I tend to either eat a lot less or eat all the junk food and nothing healthy. Either option leaves me feeling physically ill, which in turn stresses me out more and it ends up being a vicious cycle to the point where it…

I am DONE!!
This is me about 12 years ago. I can see so much more self-confidence and self-reliance in my eyes. I miss that. Physical and mental health problems, nursing my Mother through dementia and grieving her death, along with comfort eating, have been the contributors to me gaining well over 70lbs since this photo was taken. I…

Pregnant, want to get/stay healthy
Any other currently/recently pregnant people? Last year, I lost about 70 lbs over a year. Felt better, looked better, sleeping better, etc. Doing really well. Then I got pregnant :) In the meantime, I'd really like to stay active and keep eating healthier even though I know I will be gaining some weight back. I'm having…

Operation: Fit into my jeans
I don't want to buy new clothes but my jeans (and skirts and pants) don't fit anymore. I gained the COVID 20. Very much like the freshman 15. I hope to get a few people to laugh and chat with about success and setbacks. Anything to keep me motivated to use this bloody app! Will love any takers.

Let's Pretend I'm New
I've been on MFP for years and it worked. Then I went MIA for years and recently started gained back some of the weight I lost. Now I'm looking for new friends who aren't afraid to check in on me (and vise-versa) to ensure we're sticking to the goal. A little 'like' on a status goes a long way (I'm only just realizing that…

Do you have one (and care to share)? Is there one that you would recommend? I love blogging and use it more as a diary but I love reading others as well and need some new ones to follow. Personally I use Wordpress but anything is great.

Fibro and Fasting
I have just begun an extended protein sparing fast. I have multiple food intolerances, so fasting takes a lot of the guessing out of it. I am hoping to lose weight and also to decrease my inflammation and pain.

Serial Starter looking for some people to help me stick with it till the end this time.
If you go back in my profile I have said this a few times and I can't lie, it's frustrating as hell to admit it but I need to admit it. Hopefully the fact it's coming back into summer is going to be a kick up the backside I need to be able to get an actual kick start on this so in the winter I can slack a little whilst…

From 180 to 171 over the past 9 weeks, I'm not new at this (not water weight)
Nine weeks ago I weighed in at 180.3. On Saturday it was 170.6!! BYE BYE 9 LBS!! Happily so!! It's been a long haul. I started at 288 lbs. , now with 118 lbs. gone I can move around easier. But, it's not been easy! If it were easy, there'd be no overweight people. My journey actually began back in August of 2010. Please do…
