Recipes with Boost nutrition drinks?
Looking for recipes that use Boost nutritional drinks. My doctor wants me drinking them to help me gain some weight but if I drink them straight it makes me nauseous because they’re super sweet. Trying to find something that will help mellow out the sweetness and make it taste bearable

How are you cooking?
As people focused on improving or maintaining a healthy body, we tend to spend a lot of time on ingredients and quantities. We tend not to think about how we cook. The methods, appliances we use are important to maintain the health benefits of our efforts. Eating needs to be enjoyable, rather than bland and tasteless. So…

When Correcting Nutritional Values in a food item
After Correcting Nutritional Values in a food item and saving it, why doesn't the program allow you to save the food item to your food diary? Instead, it leaves you with a blank food page to make a new food item?..you have to start all over again, type in the same search, find the same food you just corrected and the check…

Question re: calories and nutrition
So I am in the process of losing quite a bit of weight. I have been restricting my calories to between 1200-1400 or so and doing a lot of exercise so my “net calories” are usually quite low. The question is, from a nutrition standpoint, can I ignore the fact that I may be burning off much of these calories since my body…

Dietician During Major Weightloss?
I have a little over 100lbs to lose, and have a strongly renewed interest in getting to a healthy weight following a recent health scare. (Not actually caused by excess weight, but it was more that it was scary to imagine dealing with that while carrying the excess weight.) I considered weight-loss surgery, but decided to…

The Barcode Thing
So, I think this is more about principle. Whether you use the barcode scanner or not, think about the fact that the owners of MFP are willing to take away functionality for people who are trying to be healthy and lose weight. What does that say about their priorities? Do you want to keep supporting a company like that? If…

Mackie Nutrition Scale?
I came across this scale while looking for something that I could bring on the road with me: https://www.mackiescientific.com/ Has anyone used this before? It looks like it has it's own food database plus you can add your own foods and recipes. I know that free apps can do the same, but the nice thing about this being in a…

Calories, Carbs, Sugars Oh My!
For us nutrition newbies out here - is there some kind of "nutrition for dummies" or sort of explanation guide, video, or book that explains not only the importance of enough Calories, Carbs, Fat, Protein, Sodium, Sugar but how to make the right selection when planning meals?

Hello🍀
Not new to MFP, but newly dedicated to my goal (~75 lbs). Overall, I just want to get physically healthy for my family, and also to feel comfortable in my clothes. Perhaps buy something other than black t-shirts and baggy pants😆.

This time around... I cannot lose weight no matter how hard I try
50f, 5'11", 242 lbs. I've been using MFP off and on for a few years now but fell off the wagon after my mother died in 2018. Over the next four years, I devoted my life to caring for my father, and then my grandmother. Now that they have passed, I'm focusing on myself and my health. A couple of months ago, I started going…

How much of a deficit is too stressful on your body?
Hello all I’ve noticed as I get closer to my goal weight my body has become way more sensitive to strenuous exercise and I’m thinking about food ALL the time where in the beginning of my journey I just felt motivated. Now I feel tired, hungry, and anxious and I’m pretty sure it’s related from what I read. Have others…

Eating estimated calories burned
I'm sure this topic has been discussed ad nauseum, but I poked around searching and couldn't find what I wanted. I have always ignored any estimated "calories burned" from machines, MFP, and my Fitbit. I just assume they are probably wrong, especially since I am hypothyroid and my metabolism is a bit sluggish. That said,…

Low appetite
Does anyone else have a really low appetite? I really need to gain weight and my calorie goal is about 1650. If I eat 1300 in a day it’s enough to make me feel stuffed and bloated. High calorie foods like avocado/nuts/etc. just make me feel worse. Any tips for stimulating what little appetite I have?

Calculate a Serving "Size"
Greetings, Nearly all recipes you find are quick to tell you the number of servings a dish was designed to provide, but they never tell you just how much a serving is, whether in standard or metric units. Maybe MFP could have a bit of code that helps calculate this information based on the amounts of the ingredients in the…
