Before & After - 4 Months | -60 Lbs... How are others doing?!
About 4 months ago to the day I decided enough was enough. Logged back into MFP and started setting realistic, and progressive goals for myself and paying attention to my diet. I really enjoy running and got myself a Tonal exercise machine for strength/resistance training (which has been amazing, but that's another story).…

Hi! New member here. I’m a 56 y.o. female and I joined to help me lose about 20 lbs and keep it off.
I’m having a hard time knowing which item to choose from the list of foods when I’m searching. Some of the calories vary a lot for the same food item. Is there a trick? Also, any suggestions for someone who gets hungry 2-3 hours after eating? I’ve tried eating more protein, more fiber, & foods that take longer to digest…

Supplement Tracking
It would be awesome if I could track supplements (vitamins/minerals.) Maybe even scan the barcodes. If micronutrients were added then these values would be very helpful to show where you may want to supplement.

Help: Calorie goal is suggesting way lower daily calories than I've seen any other suggest
So I am a 29 y/o male, 6'0 tall, weighing 224.2 lbs at about 26% BF. I work a sedentary office job and I work out 3-4 times a week for 60 minutes a workout. My goal is to reach 180 lbs. I filled out the guided goal set up and input that information with an aggressive goal of 2lbs weight loss per week and it told me my…

Gastroparesis GERD & More
Hi, my name is ... ComplexSpoonie. Well, on some social media channels anyway. A microscopically tiny blogger & content creator writing this on probably the 80th night I was unable to meet any of my nutritional goals via oral intake. I'm a mostly vegan allergic to shellfish wheelchair using human with an incredibly broken…

How do I get passed this Plateau!?
SW: 323.5 CW: 240.5 NEXT GOAL: 220 ULTIMATE GOAL: 170 I have been on a pretty massive weight loss journey this passed year. Since June of 2022 I have dropped about 85 lbs. I am at my lowest weight since 2016 but I have been hovering for about 3 months now! I'm still following the same eating.. anywhere from 1100-1400 cals…

How much of extra calories earned should I eat?
So historically when trying to lose weight I would not adjust food intake to take into account exercise. Now I am trying to change my relationship with food, to not use food as a stress reliever and to really understand healthy eating with weight loss being a very handy by-product of that. Added bonus that if I can retrain…

My shorties, how much do y'all eat?
I'm 5'1 and 101 lbs. I've been slowly trying to up my calories/hover around maintenance. I'm eating about 1,700 calories (used to eat 1,500-1,600), lift 4x a week, and try to get my steps or light cardio in. Being short it's hard not to pack on the weight quick! Any tips for lean bulking without gaining too fast? I've…

What macro balance for losing weight?
Morning all I am new to MFP, and new to the idea of even thinking about macro balance. I am enjoying working to it and can get to my percentage targets within one or 2%. Usually under on fat over on protein and carbs, but mainly protein. Pre-MFP I would’ve had a lot more carb and a lot a lot less fat and it’s taken a bit…

Not meeting minimum nutritionals
So I created a new WLS group but we only have three members so I'm going to ask here. I am 3 weeks post-op from having a gastric sleeve and I'm only able to 'eat' about 600-700 calories a day. I was wondering if anyone out there might have some experience with post-op weight loss stalls after surgery and how caloric intake…

hi everyone!! :)
I'm not new to fitness, but I am definitely new to MyFitnessPal. I had a CPT who suggested using this, but I never got to it. I always thought it was too much maintenance, but now I have nothing better to do and I want to try to make change for my body and see if my eating is really the problem (it is). I recently became a…

Tracking Calories in a deficit
Wondering what other fitness professionals do. This may be along post, but would love to hear what you are doing. This is a sample: I set a clients calories at 3000, after about 3 weeks of maintaining weight, we decide to do a calorie deficit. So let's say I now have them eating 2750 calories. They are supposed to eat this…

How much should I eat before morning lift?
I normally lift in the afternoon/evening but need to switch it for vacation. I've struggled with morning lifts before feeling weak. If I eat a 300 calorie breakfast, how long should I wait to lift? 1.5 hour? Do I need more or less? (I'm 101 lbs)

Preworkout breakfast recipes?
I normally workout in the afternoon so I need some good ideas that will fuel me up 3 hours before my lifting session without weighing me down. I was thinking greek yogurt parfait? I normally eat a light breakfast so not sure how much to eat. :)

Friends Who Understand
Hello! I am new to this particular part of MFP. It seemed like a nice place to start, looking to meet people who understand what I'm going through. I have a goal of almost 100lbs to lose and no one around me is or has ever been my size. It's very hard to find true support from those who don't understand this struggle. They…

Intermittent Fasting and Working out
Hello all, I've recently restarted IF 16/8 and it has helped me get past a plateau with my weight loss/fitness. My fasting begins at 9PM and ends at 1PM to correspond with my work hours-ish. Problem is, I was going to the gym in the morning around 9AM, and I find that I am light-headed doing the workouts I was doing…

Increasing calories as you exercise more?
My doctor started me on a 1,200 calorie/day diet as I was very sedentary due to a severe back issue. My back is getting better and I have begun to do some moderate waliking 3-5 times a week. How do I know how many extra calories to add? Also, how much protein should I be striving for?

Does anyone else experience mental struggles in intermittent fasting or ADF
Intermittent fasting is seemingly as simple as a diet plan can get: Eat. Stop eating. Eat again. So, why all the mental struggle around eating or not eating within a short window? For me, there are two distinct struggles. 1) Calming myself that I'm not causing any damage from loss of nutrients during the fast. 2) Calming…
