Stage 1 results - frustrated!
I've got 2 workouts left in stage one, and I'm frustrated. I haven't really seen any results at all, except weight gain. For the first 4 weeks of the program, I was following the calories listed in the book. Then I went down to the 'fat burning' calorie amount. I keep gaining weight. While I realize some of it is muscle, I…

I STARTED NROL4W!!
So excited to say that I finally started. I was nervous to start it at the gym, but then I found an amazing weight set on Craigslist for $150. It included the bench, 350lbs worth of weights, an olympic bar. Then my husband managed to get the guy to throw in a curl bar. Everything was in great condition. Thank God I did it…

What will I need?
I am getting the book tomorrow. We have a bench, some weights, 2 sets of dumbells, and bars...will I need anything else or should that be good?

Stage I Starts Today - Do Both A and B?
I know you're not supposed to. But I'm just coming off a week of recovery after completing P90X, and I'm so pumped! I'm looking at the workouts, getting familiar with Stage I, and I don't see why I couldn't do both A and B during Stage I? As the workouts get harder, maybe not so much. But...has anyone done this? It just…

HATE Lunges need alternative
Okay, I have knee issues. I am surprised I can do 70 lb squats and 60 deadlifts. I am in Stage 1 going on my 3rd week. I refuse to go any higher in weight with the lunges because it feels like my knee is going to be compromised. Any opinion on not going down as deep on lunges? Out of all exercises, I hate lunges the most.…

So nervous to start!
I'm a "do-Jillian-Michaels_DVDs-in-the-morning-before-work" kinda girl, but I know that if I want to make serious changes to my body, I need to start lifting some serious weights. I'm in decent shape, but it's a soft shape. I want to cut through this last 20lbs of chub and build a tight, fit body. I bought NROL4W a couple…

How many 50 plus women doing this program
How many 50 plus women doing this program, what stage are you and what are your results. Also, were you into fitness before starting this program. Thanks in advance.

So Frustrated!!
I recently went back to work (I'm a teacher), and my workout time has gone from 1 to 2 hours a day to 30 minutes. I have not been into the gym since August 26. On that workout I did my last workout A for stage one. I have one more Workout B before I rest and move on. Well, I've rested here for a while. I'm not sure if I…

Getting Respect in the Weight Room
When I first started venturing into the weight room at the beginning of Stage 1, I felt very out of place and just tried to stay out of everyone's way and not draw attention to myself. As the stages have progressed, I've become much more comfortable and feel like I have a sense of purpose. I go at the same times and see a…

Is this a good home gym setup?
Ladies, Please check this out and let me know what you think. I like the "spotter free" option. http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/spo/3255560915.html

Fitbit, TDEE and NROLFW
I'm a little confused about this. My fitbit says I burn around 1700 calories on non-workout days and around 1900 on workout days. I have set MFP up for me to eat 1900 per day, and I eat a few hundred less on non-workout days. For a cut, does that mean I should eat 15% below the fitbit numbers? Also, I have been doing…

More weight exercises
I am on my second week of Stage 1. I'd really like longer strength workouts on my weight days. The 5 exercises as part of this stage are less than what I wanted a day. I mean, come on, I bought all this fancy new weight equipment for my house  . Does anyone do more weight exercises on weight days that what is in the…

Kind of a Dumb Question
So, I think I'm doing this wrong. I did my first lifting working out Sunday. I was really, really sore the next day. The can barely move kind of sore. Then, it passed and I went yesterday for my next workout. I was fatigued, but not in pain. I made sure I ate plenty of protein and drank lots of water and never got to the…

Jeans/pants and NROLFW
Ok, on the brink of a breakdown here... I'm going through my closet and trying on jeans since fall is coming. I just tried on 8 pairs of jeans, in varying sizes, but all that fit me prior to NR - when all I did was all cardio, all the time. NONE of my jeans fit. NONE. Not ONE pair. I can't get ANY of them above my thighs…

Looking to add some new friends to my list!
Hey everyone, I'm starting NROLFW for the first time as soon as the semester starts at school. I'm in need of some more lifting friends, so feel free to add me! I've lifted before in a weight training class, but I have not done dead lifts before. I'm really excited to try them, but I would love some advice. I've done…

Love it!
I just started NROL4W and am "just" in my 4th workout, but I have already doubled the weights I am using. I find the prone jacknifes way too easy though, I just add more so that it's harder and add 20 min of low-impact cardio (like cycling) when I am done. On rest days I try to do HIIT, but usally I just rest. Strength has…

I woosed out:(
I made it to the gym tonight, but I just couldn't do it:sad: I couldn't stand in the centre of the gym, with everyone watching me, and make the attempt to do squats/press-ups etc.... I've never done any gym or weight training before so it was scary enough just to walk in there - but the set up of the gym meant that however…

Help a newbie out? :)
Hi All! I just started Stage 1 today and I have a REALLY dumb question - how long does the workout usually take you? I did Workout A and followed all of the reps and was done in about 20 minutes. I feel like I must have done something wrong because that seems really short to me! Any ideas?

Secrets from the Beautiful Woman at the Gym
So with my new school schedule I have to do some of my workouts at a different gym. On Wednesday, there was only one other woman at the weights with me, despite the 5 o'clock gym rush. SHE WAS DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. We're talking what every one of us probably envisions themselves becoming at the end of this. She was toned and…

Stage 1 results w/pics
Yay, I'm done with Stage 1! A little background for you - I was in pretty good shape before starting. I've run 5 marathons in the last 4 years, the most recent one in June this year. I've been lifting weights (although not as heavy as what I'm doing in NR) for a couple years as well. In January/February I worked with a…

Which stage(s) did you see the most change?
I just finished Stage 3 workout 2A and I'm feeling a little impatient regarding my results. I noticed a change after Stage 1, but things have been pretty stagnant since then. My weight is up (2lbs) and my measurements aren't really changing. Plus, I am retaining water like crazy and can't seem to get it out. I'm eating…

Question About stage 2
I just finished Stage 1 and the special workouts. Planning to start stage 2 from Next week however i have few doubts. Hopefully someone would clarify it for me. 1) As i understand you are suppose to do interval training only after B workout. As workout goes Week 1: A-B-A Week 2: B-A-B If i do intervals after B, so in one…

Two days after starting
And the DOMS is KILLING me! I parked on the first level of my parking garage just so that I wouldn't have to navigate stairs. Any way to relieve the muscle pain besides time?

Trouble Sleeping
I feel like I've been posting on here alot lately, but this is the only place I can come to when I have questions regarding lifting, so please bare with me and all my newbie confusions, questions, wonderings, and ramblings. I'm in stage 1 currently just finished doing my 3/10 for workout A/B, so I'll be moving on to 3/8.…

First Time Using the Rack
I just started NROLFW today and I think it went really well. I picked a time of day to go to the gym when I knew many people wouldn't be there, mainly so the squat rack would be free and also so I didn't feel like people were watching me as I fumbled around figuring it out how to use it. Well, the gym was fairly empty when…

zero weight loss
So I have 4 more workouts of stage one, And I haven't lost any weight. I am probably up 2-3lbs, but that may not be accurate due to my period starting in the next week. I have gone down about 5 inches total in my chest waist and hips, so I am feeling pretty good about that. Did anyone else in stage one find themselves in…
