Started C25K earlier this evening, around 10:00 p.m. W1D1, home treadmill, 200 Calories in 30 minutes, .550 distance (i believe, but i really wasnt keeping track of the distance…

W9D3 - Done!
I just finished my final run in the C25K program. It was an amazing run and I am still amazed I was able to acomplish this. I have my very first 5K scheduled for Wednesday so wish me luck. For all those that are just starting the best advice I can give is stick to the program. It's amazing how the body will adjust over the…

My journey
So March 25 I downloaded an app onto my iPod after reading several articles online about a running program that trains you to be a runner by using intervals. Although I never thought I would be a runner (I have used all the excuses) I decided to give it a whirl. On March 26 I completed W1D1 and thought I would die. I…

Just started C25K
Would love some friends who also just started recently. I did week 1 day 1 this morning and didn't think it was too bad.

Completed W1D1 - what do you do on the off days?
Hey everyone! I'm new to the boards, and to the site. I completed W1D1 yesterday. It was a tough run and I was barely able to complete it, but after a glass of water and cooling down... I felt great! Today I'm not sore, but I'm definitely feeling a difference. What do you all do during your off days? I'd like to maybe do…

Week 2
Did W2D1 today and I didn't do too bad. It was tough at the end but for the most part I think I did pretty well. I am feeling pretty darn good today. Now to shower and go off to work. Going to do D2 on Sunday.

Is this a good idea?
Hi everyone! I love this group. Here is my concern. I am in week 2 day 3. There is a 5k run on July 14 that I really wanted to do. That means I'll only be at week 6 training. Not being officially graduated I'm nervous. If I do this will I be setting myself up to fail? Should I just do whatever training day of the program I…

c25k- starting over - again@
hey pals, Just finished day one of c25k... felt like i was sandbagging! How's everyone else doing?

When did you actually run 5k?
I'm at week 4, day 3, and the most I've gone in the time allotted is 2.8 miles. I kind of thought that I would be doing 5k all along, until I realized that it is time based, and typically a 28 or 31 minute session. When in the process did you actually hit the 5k mark? How far have you been walking/jogging?

W5D3 DONE!!!!
I felt like quitting within the 1st quarter mile (it was so windy that it was hard to run in and my nose is SUPER stuffy today making it hard to breathe.....so I guess that DOES mean that I breathe through my nose....hmmm.....) but I persevered and completed it! You guys were my inspiration. I kept telling myself that I…

W3D2 in the books!
Well, I did W3D2 - my run felt more "comfortable" but it was a little harder- if that makes sense.....I was able to add an extra 90 sec run during the cool down which made me happy and according to the Nike+GPS- I finally have it under a 15 min mile- which is HUGE for me!! I feel like I am just shuffling, but I must be…

W3d3 with a jogging stroller
It is so much harder to do when pushing an extra 60lbs!

Just finished W2R6
It has taken me 3 weeks and 6 runs to finish week 2. This has been due to illness, horrendous weather and working schedules which were not the best. I needed the extra 3 runs as there was so much time in between some of them that I didn't feel that I was ready to move on. Now I am ready. Move over Monday week 3 hear I…

W3D3 - A peronal high
Ran 10 straight minutes today! WOOT! A new high for me. I think it was about a mile. Then walked for 3.5 minutes, ran for 5 minutes, walked 2.5 minutes, ran 1.5 minutes...I was done! LOL My knees are not happy with me today, but I iced them when I got home and have 2 days off before the start of week 4. Next week I'll do…

Heart Rate
Hi! I'm new here. I did day 1, week 1 last night on the treadmill. I have a heartrate monitor but didn't have it on. I put my hands on the machine's HRM and it calculated my HR to be about 122 just after the run portion. I think I will pull out my HRM to compare, but it should be pretty close. Is this normal? What is your…

Just finished week 1 :-)
So I just finished week 1, and I feel great!! There were a couple of times when I ran past the prompts to start walking again. There were also a couple of times when I felt some stiffness in my ankles, but I pushed on through by slowing down the pace a bit. Overall I felt great, and I'm looking forward to week 2, which I…

Today is my first 5k!!
I'm very excited but scared a bit. I haven't finished C25K program yet (currently at week 5) but a couple of days ago I beat the beast - W5D3. I feel confident I may do a good job today. Wish me luck!!

Can't make it through all the running segments on W1D1
I have done W1D1 twice now, the second time went better than the first but I think I slowed down on the running. I can't make it through all the running segments without stopping because I feel like I can't breath. Should I keep repeating day 1 until I can make it through the whole thing? I do have asthma, but it is mainly…

5K
So an email just came out about a 5K in my area, August 4th ....I am still in W4 as of now....would you sign up for it if you were in my shoes? I have never ran that much before and I don't know if I can do it. I'm just really nervous because I don't know if I will be ready by then.

Self-Massage!
Finished W1D2 today and my legs/ankles were killing me! Running was ok except near the end it was getting painful because it felt like my lower legs were completely inflexible. For my next run I'm going to try to stretch and massage my legs before running to see if it helps loosen me up. I've had Plantar fasciitis before…

First 5K tomorrow
I graduated the program about 2 weeks ago and am running my first 5K - Flag Day 5K - tomorrow to benefit wounded soldiers. Can't wait to cross that finish line!

W3D1
Well- I did it! Was really nervous about the 3 min run- but I did it! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be- I was even able to sneak in an extra 30 sec of running at the end.....actually felt better after this run than W2D3!! Not afraid of W3D2 now...... Oh- almost forgot the best part....according to my…

Graduate / First Time Post
This is the first I have posted in this area, but finished C25K about 2 weeks ago with a 33:00 / 3.1mile run. I have since kept doing it 3x a week with the hopes of just improving my time. I look forward to my runs now and love how sweaty I get. I wouldn't mind some fellow 5k-ers on my friend list, so feel free to friend…

My first 5K
Hi everyone, A few weeks back I got ill and ended up dropping out of C25K at week 7, which I'm really annoyed at myself for. I'm going to start up again but repeat week 5 or 6 rather than jump straight into full runs. BUT...... that's not the reason for this post  On Tuesday evening I ran the Race for Life in my…

Tips for running in hot weather?
I've been running for about two months and am doing quite well. However, the heat is tough. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for running seeing as how summer is upon us. Any advice is welcome.

W2D3b...
So I started and then my husband's work schedule was all weird so I had to take 4 days off after W2D1. So I got running again and got to W2D3 and was struggling. So I repeated it today. I don't feel as confident moving on as I did from W1 to W2. Is this normal or did my extra days off set me back that far? What do you…

OMG!!
Feel AWESOME! Today is week 3 day 2 of c25k, but instead of following the program (run 90 seconds, walk 90 seconds, run 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes - 2 times through)...I decided just to see how far I could go. I ran 8 minutes (1/2 mile), walked 3.5 minutes, ran 5 minutes, walked 3.25 minutes, ran 3 minutes, then did a cool…

W5D3 Today!
Doing the dreaded week 5 day 3 run tonight! I'm feeling pretty good about it because W5D2 went really well for me! However, the weather also decided to have about 200% humidity today for the first time this summer. I'll probably wait until later this evening to try and avoid some of it. Would love to hear some w5d3 success…

First 5k this Saturday! (Rebel Race)
So my buddy convinced me to do a Rebel Race this upcoming Saturday. I'm just a little nervous since this is my first 5K and this one is filled with crazy obstacles. Has anyone else done this race and any advice on how to handle this last week of training before it? Thanks!
