Week 4 Hell..o.
Anyone else think Week 4 was a major jump from 3? I started it last night half-heartedly and didn't finish - it wasn't supposed to be my run night, but I can see I'm going to have to get serious about it if I have a prayer of completing it. Yuck. I need some good music to get my brain in gear and not whining about how…

Anyone doing low carb?
Hi. Is anyone doing low carb while they run? I eat mainly vegetables, nuts, and protein. Feel free to check out my diary. I don't eat carbs, grains etc., which have a net carb over 5. Any suggestions would be appreciated. P.s. I have hasimotos and hypothyroidism, so soy and carbs don't help me.

Week 4 is history!
Just finished week 4 day 3! It seemed alot harder than day 2 but I took a harder route so i guess that makes sense! I'm excited for week 5! This is weird to me to like running!

First 5k tomorrow
Wish me luck, C25Kk friends... I have my first race ever tomorrow morning! I'm really hoping to average under a 10 minute mile. I am very nervous and seeing my name on the long list of registered participants makes it very "real". I'm just hoping it will be less than 80 degrees!!

Just started yesterday- Hi All!
Hi everyone, glad I found this group. I just started yesterday and am full of motivation. My next run is tomorrow and I am actually excited for once. Really want to reach this goal and I look forward to reading all of your posts for tips & motivation.

Post Your 5K
I thought we ought to have a thread where we post our upcoming 5Ks (or results of our 5K) so that we can support one another! After all, the goal of C25K is to be able to run a 5K right?? I've got one on June 23rd in Fairfield CT (like a mile from my house!) and then I'm doing Run For Your Lives (zombies and obstacles) on…

About to graduate
:flowerforyou: Hi everyone!!! Just wanted to post that I have one more day before I graduate from C25k! When I started I could not even run for 3 minutes...now thanks to C25K I am running non-stop for 45-50 minutes and have lost approximately 20 pounds in 2 months (along with a 1500 calorie a day modified/partially…

W5D1....modified
Had a pretty good run this morning. I’m on W5D1 but I ran for 15 minutes straight (a peronal high), then walked 2 minutes, then ran another 11 minutes. Friday is supposed to be my 20 minute run. Gonna have to push myself on Wednesday!! My ankle is starting to get sore, but I'm impressed that it took this long for me to…

Shin Pain (with a side of Hubris)
Though it's my first time actually running - I've been one of the lucky ones and pretty much have been breezing through C25K. Not to say I haven't had shortness of breath or a bad run, but the most trouble I've had is mindset wise not pain or injury wise. This week I started Week 7 (25min runs) and I was fine doing them,…

Week 2
Had to have a couple of days off due to ankle playing up, but went and done D2W2 today and actually ran! Completed all intervals well under time, by halfway through the last run I was feeling it a bit, but no pain no gain huh?! Going to do D3 tomorrow, and then repeat W2 to make sure ankle and all is ok still, and that I'm…

My 5K Journey
I have never considered myself much of a runner to say the least. I am sure over half of you in this group would agree with that statement. However with that being said I have been working my booty off (literally and figguratively) on trying to get in shape to run more. A recent relocation to Raleigh, NC has put me back…

Good run this morning!
Got up at 5:45 this morning to run. Yeay me! Ran 12, walked 2, ran 12. The second run was definately a struggle....not really sure why. BUT, I took 1 minute off of my walking time and added 2 minutes to my running time. So Yeay! My heel is hurting today (from Plantars Faciatis), so hopefully taking some ibuprophen and…

What week should I re-start at?
I have been running each week of c25k for two weeks instead of one. I had gotten up to week 5 before my spring allergies got the best of me, and I got out of practice. I have run a couple of times since then, but not really with the program. Now, I am ready to get back on track, but don't know where to re-start. Do you…

Just finished week 2
Today I went out for W2D3 earlier than I have for all of the previous days.......and boy did I struggle for the first half. Usually I get up, have 1/2 a cup of coffee and watch the news before I go out for my (run? walk? ralk? lol). This morning I had to get out right away, or I wouldn't have had the time later. I did…

W5D3

How many miles should I go on a pair of shoes??
Here is a newbie question: So how many miles should I go on a pair of running shoes?? Do you go by so many miles or do you buy shoes every two or three months? So far I have walk/jogged about 20 miles. I am on Week 2 day 1. I did 5 days of week 1. Thank you in advance.

Another 5K?
So...I'm a planner. Always have been. Used to drive my husband nuts (as a spontaneous person), until he saw the benefit of it. Anyway...I'm signed up for a 5K on July 28th and that is my current goal. To run the entire thing (however slow it is...). But now thinking...what then? Should I find another 5K to keep me going??

Starting c25k and need advice
I have an iPhone but its isn't connected to a wireless phone provider. We use it for music and WI-fi. I downloaded Chubby Jones c25k pod casts but they are kind of confusing. I cant find week 1 day 1 so I started with week 2 day 5. I would like to know what everyone uses here. Maybe there is a better one?

Struggling on my days off....
For some reaons, I seem to have a very hard time exercising (getting up at 5 am) to exercise on my non running days. Anyone else have this? I can usually talk myself into going for a walk at lunch or riding my exercise bike in the evenings, but I just can't get up early like I can for running! Help!

W4D2
Today "felt" uglier than D1- however, when my 2 mile counter dinged- it said my pace was BETTER than D1....hmmmm......anyway- we are having "free ice cream" from East Coast Custard today at work, so I stayed a little longer and walked to make the whole thing 3 miles. (can't pass up free East Coast Custard!! the stuff is…

Anyone *not* running a race right after the program?
I'm on week 8 - almost there! I keep having people ask if I'm running a race soon, or trying to push me into one. My goal at the beginning of all of this was to a.) finish the program and b.) have a 12 minute mile (I'm slow! lol) - well I am almost done with the program and am under the 12 minutes (yay!) But I don't have a…

What do you do on your days off
What do you do on your days off? I feel like I should be doing something those days. Maybe the exercise bug has finally bitten me. :)

How to increase pace?
So I finished C25K right about a month ago. Since then, I've been running 3 days per week, 3.2-3.5 miles per run, and I can't seem to break my pace, which is consistently 11:30 minute miles. I'm not pushing myself too hard as I'm comfortable at this pace (and my first race isn't until October). I'm working on upping my…

Odd feeling...
but I'm actually ANXIOUS to get up at 5 am and run tomorrow! This is just WEIRD! :noway:

W4D1- wasn't pretty....
......but its done! I did okay-slower than my previous days, but I was at least able to get through all the runs! I kept telling myself-the time is not important- its making it through all the runs. And I did. Now for a good recovery day and on to W4D2!!

W2D1
Been at W1 for 2 weeks, as I wanted to get to grips with the hills in the park, probably repeat most weeks to be honest, no point moving up if struggling with anything. Found today that I could do the 90 seconds running, but I lost time in the walking, so am now below average interval time for walking, and under in…

Week 5
Just finished W5D2 and I swear you'd think I'd never ran this before .... ever. Wow was it bad. I couldn't focus and my dog was throwing me all off pace. Normally she doesn't give me any issues, but today she was absolutely ridiculous! Anyhow, I got 2.1 miles in 14:39min/mi

W3D3- Bring on W4!!
Well, finished W3 today! I did the whole thing and even added times to each of the runs to get ready for W4. The last run I ran into the through it and into the walk portion....ended up running for 5 minutes! I was so excited because now I know I can do W4! I've been averaging 2 miles for the actual days and today I ended…

Saw C25K and just had to try it out.
So I've been attempting to get back into shape for quite some time and always quit on myself for every reason under the sun. But I saw this program and its very simple guide to beginning and figured what the hell. I'm just coming in from my first attempt ever at jogging, I went for about 2 miles with 30 seconds worth of…

What's a good time for 40-45 years old?
Just curious. In a 5K race what is a good time for a 40 -45 year old woman?
