Help - I can't mentally do the long runs!
Hi This is the second time I have done C25k and I am falling a the week 6 hurdle I have managed all the runs to week 5 run 2 fine, and then I walked for about 1 minute on the run three for some reason now my mind is saying "no you can't do this walk" instead so I am now struggling to get through a 10 minute run. I have…

How long will I hang out in Week 5?
I haven't been able to get into the full 20 minute interval yet at the end of week 5 and this is my second week doing it. I max out at 10 minute runs right now. Is there something I should be doing differently?

Keep going or not?
I am bummed. Never thought I would say this: It took me 25:30 to get through 2 1/4 miles. I don't know if I should get it down to 22 minutes before moving forward or just work on distance. Thoughts? I wasn't exhausted when I finished. I was mad so I felt like I could have kept jogging. The other thing is how do I work on…

Running in 110 degree weather?!?!
I am just starting running. I am a bigger girl, just crossed into the 200s. Its getting up to 110-112 here in OK and I am terrified to run outside. Even closer to the evening it is still very hot. And I hate running inside, and I don't really have access to and inside track or gym. Any suggestions to running in the heat?…

Week 5 Day 3 Done!
Finished day 5 of week 3 this morning. I never would have believed starting this program at nearly 250lbs and not being able to run for 60 seconds 5 weeks ago that I'd be running 20 minutes straight a little over a month later. And...I lost 8.5lbs during the first 5 weeks of the program! If you don't think you can do this,…

Headache and dizziness.....am I the only one?
Just completed W4D1. So proud of myself for getting through those 5 minute stretches! The only thing is about 1/2 way through I started to get a headache. Pushed on through and completed the run. However, when I got home not only did I have a headache, but when I sat down to drink my post-run water I started to feel dizzy…

W7D1!
How in the world did I get this far?! 7 weeks ago the walk was killing me. Today I ran 25 mins and walked 15(warmup, cool down). 2 months ago, it seemed like running would be impossible and now I look forward to it! I'm still slow but I've got 3 weeks to speed things up!!

I'm Back!!!
FINALLY had a fantastic run today! A full 2.5 miles for 25 minutes. I can deal with 10 minute miles! The humidity was remarkably lower than on Wednesday. Back is still sore, but I definately have better range of motion and it feels decent. Going running on Sunday just so that I can enjoy running in COOLER weather! :glasses:

Heart Rate when running
I tend to have a naturally high heart rate, but never experience any issues with dizziness or chest pain. I have had a cardiologist run tests on me a few years back because my resting heart rate was about 90 bmp and I was told I was fine. Any sort of cardio (even walking) will cause my rate to jump to the upper 150s or…

W5 R3 Done!!!!!
Wow I just finished W5 R3 today. I can’t believe I finished it. I have been dreading this run since the end of week one when I looked ahead to see what I was facing. I found it hard, really really hard. I was fine till about the half way mark then I wanted to quite a number of times but the thought of getting as far as I…

Week 4 Done...moving on to Week 5!
anyone else at this same stage? I'm going to start week 5 tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous about the longer runs. Mainly because it just keeps getting hotter outside! Almost halfway

Starting Tomorrow
Hey guys, I'm new to this group, but not new to C25K. I started it around this time last year and loved it. But then I found out I was pregnant, and stopped running. I'm trying to lose baby weight, and I figure this will be a great way to start. I could use all the support I can get, and would love to offer some as well.…

NSV! Ran in the rain!
I didn't get my run in this morning so I figured I'd do it tonight. It started raining at 5ish and hasn't stopped, so I waited until the rain slowed and went out and ran! Like really ran! W6D3! Then after my 22 minutes I was still good and the clouds looked like they were coming back, I just ran the rest of the way…

W2D1
Just completed W2D1. I am so glad that I went this morning, rather than waiting for this afternoon........it's going to be 96 for a high temp here today! I felt great most of the time............every once in awhile I had pain in my shins, so I just slowed it down and it went away. Bring on day 2 on Wednesday!

Week 5 Confusion
So I am getting ready to move into week 5 - I have done week 4 four times now. I don't understand week 5 though. The first and second day I get...I see the progression. But then on day 3 I run for 20 minutes? That seems like a BIG jump??? And week 6 I go BACK to running 5 & 8 minute intervals. Can someone explain the logic…

Running in the morning...
Hi all! I'm just about done with week 2 and really enjoying the program so far. My question is about running in the morning. Normally, I prefer to run right after work and before dinner. But it's been 90+ degrees out and yesterday I thought I was going to melt, it was so hot. My options are to wait until the evening when…

Amazing run this morning!
Had an AWESOME run this morning! Thankfully it was cooler than on Tuesday. But I ran for 12 minutes straight (little over a mile), walked for 3 minutes, then ran for 10.5 minutes (exactly a mile). I'm SO going to ROCK the Packer 5K in 5 weeks!!

Week 3
Started week 3 today and I finally feel like I'm making quantifiable progress! Both 3 minute runs went really well. I'm so happy I started this program! When did you really feel you were making progress?

Just starting. I need friends and motivation!
Hello, I have been trying to get back into running. I've never been a "runner", but I used to jog a couple of days a week and have completed 2 5Ks, both at about 32 minutes which I think is respectable. But that was a few years ago and I tried to jog 2 miles last week and almost died! So now I'm using the c25k plan. I have…

Completed my first 5k yesterday
I participated in our local July 4th 5k yesterday. It started at 9 am. By that time it was already 90 degrees and 80% humidity, and we were under a heat advisory! There were 1,000 people in the race, a huge crowd! It was awesome! I had good intentions, I was hoping to run a good portion of it but that didn't work out so…

Modified Couch 2 5K
Hello all! I think I was a member of this group months ago, but I deleted everything and started from scratch a while back. Quick intro- I'm Mary-Catherine, I'm 28, and a couple of years ago I was a C25K graduate and frequent runner/racer. Not so much anymore- I've been making excuses for almost 2 years now! I am easing…

Weight Loss?
Out of curiosity, has anyone seen any significant weight loss while completing c25k?

Feel like I'm back peddaling! :(
I was on such a fantastic pace! Did I overdo it?? On Monday I only did 20 minutes whereas last friday I did 24:14. Today, I was only able to manage 16 minutes total, with 8 minutes of walking mixed in. I do consider 2 things to be contributors to this....I have a bum back right now (upper back) and it was about 110%…

How did you get your breathing under control?
I have been doing week 1 for over 2 weeks- well, I got through week 1, did W2D1 (and about DIED!) and had to take the time off for the shins....Since I've been back on it, I've been doing week 1 for a week and a half. I CANNOT BREATHE. Yes, I've followed my own advice and slowed down as slow as I can. Did W1D3 again today…

Doing C25K with a dog?
Does anyone have tips with doing C25K with a dog? I've done one day but he's still getting used to it too and loves to try to go hunt things so if anyone has any tips that'd be great!

W5D3
Ive just completed the 20 minute run! cant believe that i actually made it and it wasn't as hard as i thought it would be! I had to stop twice due to my shoelaces untying but that wasn't for more than a few seconds at a time so i added a bit more on at the end to make up for the stops! Still cant believe i made it! Anyone else struggled??
Hi, I started doing the C25k program in January and have been really struggling to make progress. My problem is that my legs have caused me a lot of problems as my hamstrings have been very tight. I find that I need a lot more recovery time between the runs. I am currently up to week 6 but this has taken a crazy amount of…
