Repeating week 3?
Well, everything was going along well until W3D2, I fell while running and got some bad road rash. I kept on going though...finished the next 22 minutes of the run! But here I am at W4D1 and not sure I'm ready for what it calls for. Has anyone else had to repeat week 3? I'm thinking of doing this to be more "proficient" at…

W5D2
well- its done. that's about all I can say for today! I have noticed I am moving slower than I was previously. my left leg is STILL bothering me during and after. (may have to see the dr.) AND not sure I will be able to do the 20 min run Thursday. We will see....I suprised myself running 10 min last week. I'll see how far…

Tried to keep up on vacation
So I went on vacation this week. I decided to repeat week 2 rather than move on to week 3..........and am I glad that I did! I only got out two times, (Monday, and then again today. It was just so hot where we were camping, and too hard to get up in the morning after staying up too late by the fire. Next week I will be…

25 minutes straight!
I just completed week 6 after taking a week off due to injury. I purchased new shoes and oh, what a difference a day makes. There was no pain at all. The time just flew by and I was able to run 25 minutes straight! I was so excited.

When do you Graduate?
Do you consider yourself graduated when you complete Week 9, Day 3? Or when you run for 30 minutes straight? Or when you run 3.1 miles straight? Or when you run 3.1 miles in 30 minutes?

Road Run
I did my first road run today. Up until now, I have been running on the track or on the treadmill. It was definitely more challenging in some ways and easier in others. I found that I had a hard time keeping to a slow enough pace and even the small hills on my route were hard for me. I had to walk more than ever so I…

Not a fantastic run...but I ran!
Not an overly wonderful run today, but I'm pretty proud I got out at all. Woke up 10 minutes late (which everyone knows just totally throws you off anyway), it's humid, and I'm hurting. Either from golfing on Saturday or from the yard work yesterday, this stupid muscle/nerve (whatever it is) along my spinal chord is flared…

almost ready
I think I'm almost ready to start W3. Just did W2D3 today but I think I will redo it tomorrow and do W3D1 on Monday. Not sure yet tho.. I wasn't able to run for 5 days due to my crazy schedule at work and today just about killed me. Do you think I should redo W2 and do it more steadly before I start W3?

I am new to this, need encouragement!
Hi all!! I've been on MFP since April, but just now used it from the computer so can access message boards. I've heard of C25K before but never had the energy to do it. I'm very interested in it and just need encouragement from others. Does it help? I used to run 2 miles in 15 minutes but then I had 2 kids (1 a c-section)…

WEEK 5 Complete
With a little apprehension, I started and completed the 20 minute run. I can honestly say it wasnt that bad. My legs were tired more than being winded. I sprinted the last minute. Now I finally feel like I cant make it to the 5k. If I can do it anyone can.

Who can run in this heat?!
Just as I was making progress, 100+ degree weather. Seriously??? My question is: will the program be as effective if I do it on an elliptical? And please don't tell me to get up at 5-6 am, it is just not gonna happen.

now run 20 minures straight...
And I did! W5D3 goes down! Minutes 3, 11 and 16 were th:wink: e worst but I picked spot in the distance and figure if i made it there I could walk and I was always better at that point so i didn't walk! Now that i know I can do that I can run this whole program is going down!

indoor to outdoor running
Hi all! Newbie here with a quick question. I've signed up for a 5K in early September to really get my motivation going (it's a color run, too, so I'm super stoked!!), and so far, it's really been working! However, where I live, the temperature has been in the triple digits for the past week, so I've just been going into…

OMG the pain!!! Why me... oh... the humanity!!! HELP!!
Sooo, I need robot legs! Yup that would fix it! Until then…. Today I finished W2D2 and my legs hurt so badly. Almost feels like the pain is in my bones. I don’t know really. So, I started off, felt it a little bit in my shins so I slowed down. Then during each running portion the pain seemed to get worse, hitting my knees…

W5D1- with new shoes
Well, finally got some new shoes! I ended up with Asics Gel- (not sure the number) not sure how i feel about them! I was hurting yesterday because i ran W4D3 in **walking shoes*** :embarassed: bad idea! I was in a lot of pain yesterday, so I went to the store, tried on the ones I had before and didn't like the feel of…

Help! C25K Week 7 Hip Pain
Last night I completed C25K Week 7, Day 1. I ran 25 minutes (almost killed me) and the last 5 minutes I started feeling some hip pain. Last night and this morning I'm in significant pain - not your normal "hey, I can tell I worked out" pain. Before I started C25K I searched on MFP - and took everyone's advice: * Got great…

Week 3 done!
You know, I have done this running program before several times and finished, then I always quit running afterwards. I really don't know why I stop every time. Starting this program (yet again), I remember how much I miss running (or jogging at a very slow turtle pace lol). I haven't jogged in 2 years and somehow every…

Advice needed on whether to progress this week
Hi there, I've just completed Week 4 and feel able to move onto Week 5 BUT I've got a REALLY long working week next week (56 hours). Do I push onto Week 5 even with the extra work or do I play it safe and repeat the week? Thank you in advance for any advice. Nicola xxx

Still Sore
I finished W2D2 Tuesday after doing Zumba on Monday. It's time to do W2D3 and my legs are still kind of sore. Do I forge ahead, take it easy and just walk today, or rest another day?

Just downloaded C25K!
Hi guys! I planned on beginning today but I overslept. lol. I'll be starting tomorrow morning! So far I've heard great things about the program, so I'm really looking forward to it! I'm also considering working that in with Zumba and Insanity. I need some C25K beginner buddies so we can motivate each other! :D

W5D3 completed....a day early!
I got up and ran this morning with the goal of going 17 minutes straight in mind. And I went a full 20 minutes!! I got to where I did on Monday (actually a little past) and looked at my watch thinking I was close to the 17 minute goal mark, but I was only at 13:45 (which clearly means I went faster...which explains why it…

W4D3- done in a BIG way!!
Well, I was concerned after being off for 4 days and not feeling good or eating good the last 2! Well, guess I didn't have anything to worry about!! I went slow- very slow- but made it through all the runs. I decided- knowing what week 5 is bringing me- to add some extra time to the end of the last run- the 5…

Recommendations please - reduce speed or repeat week?
I just finished w3D3. It was HARD!!! Is it better, in your opinion, to repeat the week at the same speed or to move to week 4 and lower my speed if I think I absolutely have to? Advice would be appreciated!

skipped W5D1...
And went straight to W5D2. Didn't realize it until I was done and thought, "I'm supposed to have one more walk and one more run" So I guess 5 min run, 3 min walk would have been easier than 8 min run and 5 min walk. Yayyy! I did it anyway. So now what? Do I repeat W5D2 or do I just move to W5D3? I'm not scared of W5D3 now…

Starting Again - 05/31/12
I joined this group like a month ago and never actually started the program. Boo!!! So tonight - I COMMIT to starting. And I'm gonna report back to this thread to update my progress and keep myself accountable. I completed Cto5K last summer/fall and ran three 5ks in the fall. I felt AMAZING. Strong. Successful. I loved it.…

Tips for C25K-ers
I thought I'd post the tips I had here on it's own, so if anyone wants to read, it's easier to find. This is what I've learned after trying C25K about 2 years ago and quitting due to hurting myself...and from restarting this time around. I hope it helps! 1. Never be afraid to repeat days or even weeks. I had to take over a…

Which part of the run is the hardest?
Hello fellow runners! Just finished W6D3 today...all straight running for the next 3 weeks!! So, what do you find is the toughest part of your runs? (ie. beginning, middle, end...etc) I just assumed it'll be the end but I find the first 5-10 minutes the hardest...it's when my breathing gets rough, I already break…
