This is my 2nd time through! I am so happy to meet you!
Hi Everyone! I was so pleased to find a C25k group here on MFP! I have completed the program once last summer....ran on my own for awhile using the interval training programs off of runners world, then got diagnosed with Plantar's Fasciitis and had to stop for awhile. Needless to say, I gained all the weight I lost…

Week 6 day 3 - cannot get past it!
Hi everyone! I started out really well with C25k - made it through the first 4 weeks no problem. Then I was away for a week after one day of week 5 so restarted week 5 when I returned. Was really happy to manage my 20min run :) Then I got through week 6 days 1 and 2 but I cannot seem to get the 25min run. I'm using the NHS…

1st Day ended in a bang
I started the couch to 5K program yesterday. I was really excited. I even got the app. Sounded really easy to follow. But it ended with a bang, literally. Ofcourse I fell on a rock and sliced my hand open. ( I am a little bit accident prone.) So I am not discouraged, but I have an elliptical so I think I will try on it…

Anyone with athsma?
I did w1d3 today and jogged most of the jogging parts until the last two when my athsma started to act up. Hard to run holding your breath. But the good news is I knocked 2min off by best time for this loop, 36 min walk/running. I think I will repeat w1d3 until I can run all the running parts. Anyone else with athsma doing…

W2D1 DONE!!!
Well, I got up early- couldn't sleep so decided to get up. I went to our rec center to use the indoor track- thought it would be easier since I was sick the past few days. when the first 90 sec hit- i started running. Was very surprised when the ap told me to start walking. It went pretty quick! It felt good to get it done…

Started Yesterday
Just wanted to say HI to the group and introduce myself. I started my C25K training yesterday and feel like this is the program to get me moving. I haven't, in the past, been big on excercise but am finding relaxation in jogging. I am out of shape and this program seems to be a perfect fit to get me moving and running! I…

Knee injury
So I did it... :( Messed up my left knee..hurts to walk on it, hurts to bend it..so my running is on hold for a little while. Any suggestions on how to work around this? I was thinking of walking instead of doing the running.

W2D1 Complete!
I can't believe I'm actually able to post about week 2!! Seriously thought I'd probably quit after the first week. But you know what? The first 90 second run this morning felt awesome! Got harder after that but I survived! Tomorrow I bike in the morning then on to W2D2 on wednesday! Only 8 weeks until my first 5K!

Tomorrow is the REAL challenge....
Tomorrow is W1D3 for me....but the REAL challenge will be getting my butt out of bed at 5 am on a SATURDAY to do it! :noway:

W1D3 complete
Well, got up at 7 to do W1D3- mental note- do NOT walk dog for 2 miles night before a C25K day!! UGH....it was hard, but I did every bit of it. Feel pretty good though!! I didn't watch my time and wasn't in the right place to make it home by the time it was complete, so I ended up walking 8 extra minutes....which was fine.…

am i overtraining?
I starred new rules of lifting for women about 3 weeks ago, and have been keeping to the books schedule of lifting 3 days a week for about 30-45 minutes. Im doing c25k on alternating days. At first it seemed like the weight lifting was really helping with my runs, but I just failed the FOURTH day of week 8. I've tried…

Not as sore!!
Well, after W1D1- I can could barely walk the next day. I have a desk job and if I sat too long, it was hard to get moving. Today, after W1D2- not nearly as sore!! Muscles are a little tight, but I can move and not feel bad!! YAY!! Can't WAIT till tomorrow with W1D3!!!

W1D3...better than D2
Today I was up at 5:21 this am to run. That in and of itself makes me proud! LOL But...Day 3 was definately easier than D2. My last 2 run segments I actually 90 seconds instead of 60. The first time it was unintentional...I was distracted trying to run around a low reaching tree. So I decided I could do it again and it…

Lessons learned on W1D2.....
1. Rec center closes at 8pm. Make sure to get there to give me enough time to do cool down inside! 2. if I do this in the evening again....might be a good idea to do this before eating dinner,.......45 minutes not enough time to let food settle! LOL!! 3. indoor track better than outside on sidewalk, but miss the sunrise…

w2d1
WooHoo I did w2d1 of my c25k first try I jogged all the jogging bits and set a pb for my 2 mile run/walk loop of 35:00. After taking 3 trys to finish w1d3, a great moral victory.

Anyone training C25K on an elliptical?
Had been training C25k on a treadmill but my knee started bugging me around week 4, trainer suggested I train on an elliptical instead. Took me awhile to get used to elliptical (pacing - when I first started I had "all on" or "dead stop") so just restarted with w1d1. Anyone else doing this? What strides per minute do you…

Pandora is on my Sh*tlist!
Last night I ran late, W1D3, I'm so proud of myself, so it was dark. I've just been playing Pandora with my C25K app. It played "Every Breath You Take!" Grrrr! I was freaked out by every shadow, bunny and flickering light along my run. I gave the song a thumbs down!

Going from C25K to Ease into 10 K
I'm new here so please forgive me if this has already been discussed. I was wondering if anyone has experienced any setbacks in their endurance after completing C25K program and then moving on to the 10K program? Do you feel like you went backward in your progress because it starts with shorter intervals?

W1D1
I've done this jogging program several times before and I love it. I haven't jogged in about 2 years and today was a toughie (of course so was trying to wake up to start it). But I will do it!

Starting soon...
Hello all! I'm new to this group and will be starting this program soon (just started antibiotics for a URI). Any advice for a newbie? What are some things you wished you knew when you started?

struggling with week 8
I have run day 1 of week 8 three times this week. I still can't do all 28 minutes without stopping. If I walk a few minutes, I can run and finish all 28. Im thinking I need to take a day off between weight lifting and my running days. I hate to get set back so far into the program, but week 9 is a full 3.1 miles, and I…

W1D2...a little easier...
Did a bit better with this run from last run. Trying to work on my technique a bit and I added 1 additional 60 second run to this one. Hopefully Saturday’s run will be easier and I’ll feel okay to move on to week 2!

On W1D2...when does this get better?!
I hurt and I feel like I'm doing terrible. When did it get better for you?

At what point do you spend money on this new habit?
I started C25K yesterday. After nearly 40 years of being told I'm not athletic, I've got bad knees, a bad back and that running is really bad for your joints I thought enough was enough: I want to be a runner! Tomorrow is day 2 and I'm nervous as I felt like a complete and utter numpty when I went out jogging yesterday. I…

Is Interval Running better for weight loss??
Hi everyone, I am new to MFP and this board :) I completed C25K about 12 months ago - loved (and hated LOL) every step of the way til I finished - and then I stopped running completely - broke a toe and never got back to it. I have to say that the only time I have ever been remotely happy with the shape of my legs was when…

Day 2... and I was rubbish!
Monday was Day 1 and as a first time jogger I amazed myself by completing it all as prescribed and burning 430 calories (I added extra cooling down brisk walking on to the end of the route). Today I followed a route of similar length (admittedly a couple of small hills in there, which I didn't do on the first day) and was…

Terrified of W5D3!
Hi, all. I am new to the group and am terrified of W5D3. So far I've been getting through each week without having to repeat, but there is a real mental block surrounding the entire W5 for me. So much so that I even skipped yesterday's scheduled W5D1! I got up this morning and knocked it out, but in 2 days I'm supposed to…

Just do it
WooHoo, today I managed to jog all the jogging parts on my c25k program ( as he does a little jig with a heel click at the end) After a 13 hr nightshift I made myself get up after 4 hrs sleep thinking I would at least get some fresh air and some exercise. But after stumbling out the door fighting to get my music working…

Need some encouragment please
So I did week 5, day 2 today... And so that means my next run is 20 mins with no stopping and I'm scared!! I was even nervous this morning about day 2, but I thought just do it. And I did, and also managed to add on 5 extra minutes of running onto my last 8 mins. So added together, I've actually run 21 minutes today. So…
