Help...Day 2 and failing
So, it's only my Day 2 on C25K and I quit half way thru. My ankles hurt and my calf muscles feel like they are going to tear. I don't want to be a quitter. Please give me some tips on stretching or whatever! I feel like I'm the only person that cannot do this program. I use the elliptical and treadmill and do 30 Day Shred…

NSV with the C25k!
Hi! I joined this group today and would like C25k friends, so add me if you like. I am soo happy to say that I have completed D1W1 of C25k. The reason I am sooo happy is that I have been working up to this moment for a year. Last year, I tore ligaments and tendons around my knee. My knee was so jacked up that if I stood…

C25k - week 7 -should i increase rest days in between?
I run monday, wed and saturday every week and until recently its been ok. The last couple of weeks i have noticed that its much easier on a sat and i think this is because i have had 2 rest days beforehand. On mon and wednesdays my legs are aching after a while. I warm up properly. Does amyone have any advice? Should i try…

10k?
Is there a similar routine to c25k for 10k's once you've completed the 5? I'm about to enter week 6 but my overall goal is to run a 10k for charity.

Week 9
I'm officially in the C25K homestretch with my first Week 9 scheduled for this afternoon! I have a 5K race in the middle of June. Now that I will have, after finishing week 9, the stamina to run 5K straight through, I got some time to work on speed.

New and question about "rest days"
Hi, I'm really excited to find this group! I just did W2D1 yesterday of C25K. Pretty big move for me because I've ALWAYS hated running, but I'm excited to someday call myself a runner :) Anyway, I know everyone says take it slow and make sure you get your rest days, but I'm wondering if a rest day is from any exercise or…

Just Joined the Group
I'm on week 7 already, but I just found this group. I'm doing the program based on time, not distance. Last year I participated in the Chase Corporate Challenge in Syracuse, NY. It was essentially my first 5k, although the race is actually 3.5 miles. A few week later I found out I was pregnant and haven't ran much since…

I did it!!
I ran my first 5K. I would never ever have believed it. C25K is a miracle for me. My finish time was 30 minutes 34 seconds. Don't know if that's good or what, but I DID IT! And, my local hospice, that took great care of my Mom in her final days, benefitted too.

Week 8
Just did Week 8 day one - got in 2.55 miles in the 28 minutes of running. Felt pretty good. I won't be up to 3.1 miles next week, but I'll be alot closer than I ever thought I could be when I started!!! Anyone else on week 8 right now?

Starting today!
So yesterday (because I was mad) I took the dog out and for the first time in my life I ran a full 5K. (Okay, so I walked about a half mile of it, but still, I'm not a runner and never have been so I was proud of myself.) I set a goal to run a 5K for pancreatic cancer here later this summer and decided this would be a good…

Week 7
I just started week 7 of my training program. It consists of a 25 min. run and two five minute walks - one before and one after. I truly surprised myself in that I did the WHOLE 25 min without stopping! I LOVE running. I was never a runner when I was younger. But as I have aged I have found that I truly do enjoy the…

Newbie :)
Hi all, I'm glad to have found this group. I used to be a runner in highschool, back in the day LOL....now at age 33 and overweight by 100 pounds  BUT I am doing something about it!! I've been thinking how I'd love to get back to running, and I was waiting until I got under 200 to attempt it.....but you know what?? I…

New to group, started week 3 today
Hi, I just found this group and joined immediately. I started this program two weeks ago and did week 3, day 1 today. I started the program about 2 years ago (on the treadmill, in the gym) but fell off the wagon. This time I'm doing it outside and I like that much better. Love to run in the park! Today for the first time…

New to the group
I used to run 4-6 miles of hills 3 days a week and I loved it. that's when I weighed 235. I was injured and told I would never walk again and I used that as an excuse to give up. when I hit 400lbs I gave up on giving up and now I'm down to 329 and still losing. I did a 5k last year without training and it was rough. I know…

Did I graduate from C25K early?
I completed week 6. What was supposed to be a 22 minute run I stretched it to 36 minutes. My reason for doing this was I had a 5K race coming up in 4 days. That was Tuesday May 1st. I did not start week 7. Instead I rested for the upcoming race. My main focus was to complete a 5K without walking. A secondary focus was to…

Post Graduation: Increasing Speed
Hello all. I am in the middle of week 7 so I am looking forward to graduating soon :) I am a VERY slow "runner" - about 4.0-4.5mph. I am proud I have the stamina now and I am looking for a plan post-graduation to increase my pace. Anyone know of a program or app that is like c25k? Should I just do c25k and instead of the…

Park Runs
Hey folks...I've done Week 8 Run 2 today, so I'm nearly at graduation!! YAY!!! Near where I live, they have proper organised park runs on Saturday mornings. I'm defo signing up to one after I finish the programme and wondered if anyone on here as done any? I've got 2 near me, Norwich or King's Lynn. I think going to one is…

Victory, but still some time until completetion
I finished week 7 today. My friend was at the gym walking on the TM next to me. I was able to carry on a decent conversation while "jogging". Usually I would be so winded doing work like this I would not be able to talk. Pretty cool to see that improvement in my fitness level.

Ankle pain when I STOP running
Hey Guys, I am on week 1 and I do not know if this is normal but I have ankle pain when I STOP running and when I am doing the walking intervals. When I run the pain subsides. Any thoughts on this? Should I push myself and just try and run longer distances (even at a slower speed). When I walk I am at 3.3 - 3.5 when I run…

New to the group and new to running :)
Brand new to running - I am going to start to running using the C25K App. I did day one today. My favorite prat of the app is that you can see your stats. Cannot wait to see improvements  Best part of todays run - as I complete a jogging section and begin to walk an elderly man on the path says pick it up girl, if I…

Looking forward to starting C25K tomorrow!!
I am so excited about starting the program tomorrow. I have done a lot of research and tons of people recommend this! I am very interested in how I will do because I am an ex-smoker as of 2 weeks ago. :) I hope my breathing doesn't cause me problems. I can't wait to see how much weight I will drop in 9 weeks.

Accidentally did Week 5 Run 3!
Went to the gym today, thinking I was going to do Week 5 run 2 - I've not been sticking fully to three times a week in the last few weeks and have done Wk5 run1 a few times, and one Wk5 run2 in the middle somewhere. I use the NHS Choices podcast and was relieved when Laura said that was 5 minutes over. I carried on running…
