Hi..I'm trying to work the search aspect but if someone knows there is already a thread where women who are peri-menopausal or menopausal - please point me in that direction. Recommendations on adjustable weight dumbbells
Hi. I'm new to this group and had a few questions, if anyone could help me out. I'm wanting to start lifting heavy at home since to me, it's a little more convenient than going to a gym. I was wondering if any of you had any recommendations on a brand of adjustable weight dumbbells? And also any recommendations on an…

High Calorie Day vs TDEE every 4-6 weeks??
So, I was fiddling with the spreadsheet again, and noticed it recommends 1 high calorie day and 6 deficit days. Should I be doing this, rather than eating at TDEE every 4-6 weeks for a week? Which way did you cut?

Help determining TDEE... active job?
I work in a distribution center on a 'pick' line. I push a small cart down an aisle about 200 feet long. I"m constantly reaching above my head, down to the floor and everywhere in between grabbing small items and putting them in a plastic tote on my cart. Sometimes I'm taking baby steps between each pick, sometimes I'm…

Do obese people have more deficit "wiggle room "?
I read somewhere on mfp that if you had a lot to lose (as in, clinically obese, which I am), you could cut more than 20% from TDEE and still do fine. I'm 5'6.75" and currently weigh 225 lb. My #'s from the Scooby calculator are thus: TDEE: 2704 BMR: 1744 20% Cut: 2163 25% Cut: 2028 I do an hour-long yoga class 1x/week,…

Help...
When I started using MFP it told me to eat 1200 calories... So I did. At first it was difficult, then it got easier. Now, 27lbs down, I've hit a plateau, and people have been telling me it's because I need to eat more. So, I changed my weight loss goals to losing 1 pound a week instead of 2 pounds. In turn this has upped…

sorry if this is a repeat
Does anyone use sedentary for their TDEE and then eat back exercise calories? I have a HRM so I think I can get pretty accurate. How does this work for you? Have you done this and then switched? I ask because I have a fitbit. And my TDEE based on my fitbit is almost a direct match to scooby's site (yayyyy) for my sedentary…

Need some encouragment
Hi All, After having initial success at raising my TDEG from 1200 to 1600 (early Jan 2013) and loosing weight, I then started to gain weight. This suggested that my BMR had lowered and that I needed to do the full reset and get my metabolism working properly again. So that is what I’ve been doing for the last two months.…

Pretty new to this. How important are these macros?
After reading through some of the sticky threads, and seeing it mentioned that macros are good to be set at: Carbs 40% Protein 30% Fat 30% Fiber 30 Sodium 2500 I've looked through my diary. and it seems like I don't have a problem with carbs and protein, but I have a problem with fat. Sometimes I'll have an excess of…

TOM metabolism changes?
Can there be metabolism increases during TOM? I ask because I always feel hungrier during this time. It's not cravings; it's actual appetite increases. I eat my stash of healthy snacks and foods (protein dense), and I'm still hungry. Then I feel bad for going over my daily amount. Any resources or answers would be greatly…

HIIT in place of Weight Training?
Since i cant do strength training at the moment, a member here told me to do HIIT in place of it. For instance, jog 4 minutes than run up a hill as fast as i can for up to 45 seconds. since i have been doing that, my legs and abs are really sore. Does that mean its working? Is it the same as doing squat lifts?

I noticed fatigue and results were…

End Goals?
Hey y'all I hope you are well! I have been doing EM2WL since June 2012 and I am still loving it. However, since it is now a new year I made a promise to myself that I would give up calorie counting for good - now I know what I really need to do to feed my body and take care of it. BMR & TDEE = Somewhere in the middle.. (thoughts welcome)
Stats (per Scooby) *F, 29yo, 174lbs, 65in, 29%BF, 3-5day activity* BMR - 1575 TDEE - 2441 TDEG - 2075 (15%cut) & 1953 (20%cut) Question of the day: Is eating 1750 base calories daily (and eating back my weight training calories) going to do me a disservice, or expedite my fat loss? Kinda long... but I need some BMR/TDEE advice!
I'm just looking for a little help... I am new to the "Eat more to weight less" philosophy but it totally makes sense and I am sticking with it. You know you EM2WL when. . .
Thought it would be fun to make a list of the EM2WL characteristics. Just quote and keep only the list to add to so we can end up with a cumulative list. I'll start. You know you EM2WL when: You jump out of bed in the morning and instead of rushing to the scale, you rush to the mirror and flex

Hello! New here. Want to make sure I am on the right path.
Today is my 37th birthday! Whee! I am 5'2 and weigh 191 pounds. Over the last 6 months I have gained quite a bit of weight. Probably safe to say that in the last year and a half 30 - 40 pounds. So the "good" news is that I haven't been depriving myself calorically. So I am hoping that I don't need to do a reset. Couple of…
