I am 5'8', 47, 220, female. I do C25K 3 times a week and JM Shred every day usually. I have been eating 1500 calories and eating back my exercise calories. I went to the site recommended and input the above info. My BMR is 1704, my TDEE 2642 and my calories based on -15% 2246. So does it mean that I should eat 2246…

Intrigued...
I started EMTWL yesterday after stumbling on some posts on the main MFP forums. Found the spreadsheet on Google docs, downloaded it, did all the measurements, etc and found my numbers. Tonight I found this sub group which I can already tell is going to be great. A little background on me. I'm 50, male, 6'1 and about…

'Endurance' vs. 'Heavy' Lifting
Those of you that lift, I could use some advice/resources. I have been lifting heavy since last April, but I am taking a mini-break to do Butt Bible again, which is more 'endurance' lifting. I've noticed that doing 12-15 reps is really hard for me at lower weight, even though I am fairly strong from my heavy lifting (I can…

activity level?
alright so here's another silly one for you all. it appears that i should not trust my polar ft7 for long term use (i figured as much but wanted to see what it said, sounded right at the time 128/hour average waking time) there are soooo many variances for what activity level is. the consensus seems to be that scooby is a…

EM2WL and Lent
Hey everyone, Lent begins on Wednesday and for us who celebrate this season, there is fasting on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays. Now that I am trying to feed my body proper fuel and don't want to mess anything up, how do I go about maintaining my calories during this time? For this week where I will be fasting…

Hi, friends! Just wanted to give a little encouragement (and brag a bit)! I have been following EM2WL since September and have lost thirty pounds! I upped my calories three weeks ago (and am continuing to up them to get to TDEE of about 2500), and I gained two full pounds this past weekend, while having gained three pounds in the first week. Five pounds up and am almost back at my starting weight from a few months ago :( It is really hurting me mentally, I know I…

Does this count as heavy lifting?
I have just upped my calories and will be eating between 1600-1800/day. (From Dan IPOARM) I turn 40 next week, 5'6' and 166 lbs with 36% body fat. BMR=1448 TDEE=2041 TDEE-20%1634 I teach preschool 3 mornings a week, and will do this strength MWF and will soon start running. I will re evaluate when I do that and up calories…

I need honest, real suggestions. I'm not sure I'm approaching the eat more concept correctly. I've been low cal for so long while on WW, I know I needed to change. Facts: I'm 34, female, 5'6", 150lbs. I run about 15-20 miles a week, take a boot camp class once a week and play on a volleyball league once a week. BMR:1451…

Need help, Been so discouraged
Okay, so I have done weekly measurements for the last 4 weeks during Live Fit, and I must say I'm actually a little disappointed - I was hoping to see some downward trend/movement (even if only slightly) but it seems I'm staying the same or even going up in some. I don't do supplements due to IBS issues and I can throw my…

Seriously discouraged and scared
Ok I'm sure others have gone through this, but I just feel like I'm doing this all wrong. I'm not losing weight anymore and the inches are even up and down (it seems). I'm scared to death of getting back to my starting weight. As the scale inches up, I get more and more nervous. I don't want to feel like this anymore.…

Not a newbie, but need advice
Don't really know how to start this lol! Urm I've been a member of emtwl for quite some time now, and I've researched it quite a fair bit. Basically, I have a history with anorexia, purging and now binging. I have been in recovery for purging type anorexia for almost two years, and I have gained alot of weight since I…

Everybody around me is having success
I'm so discouraged right now. On Monday, my weigh in day, I was at 168.5, then for the next few days I was at 168. Today I weighed and i'm at 169.5 :( . This coming Monday will complete my 4th week counting calories and about 2.5 of those at the more correct TDEE-cut, vs my first week or so with MFP trying to get…

don't mean to be dense but
i'm really trying to hit this 40/30/30 business, or at least make sure i get the 30% protein part right. When I look at my diary, i have 89 grams of fat, 157 carbs and 130 protein. so how come when i go to my pie chart for the day it shows 41% fat, 32% carb and 27% protein I have way more of both carbs and protein than fat…

I HATE MATH. alright so i determined with the HRM (polar ft 7) that i burn an average of 128 cals an hour daily (worn for 13 hours during a rainy blah do nothing day with my girl). common math (google research, i know bear with me!) shows that the average person burns approximately 0.42 * pounds per hour sleeping (adjust…

Is my calorie deficit too big?
Hi everyone! After gaining weight doing an 8 week metabolism reset, then losing it again and breaking through my 6 month plateau, I actually posted a success story in this group a while back.... but soon after I did, I stopped counting calories, became lazy, and I began to gain weight back... so I had to start again. I Need friends that eat more 2 weigh less

Personal Trainers and EM2WL
I'd like some opinions on Personal Trainers and if they are worth the $50 / hour in results. I've had a total of three and I'd say that 'what's funny' is that 'their' the one's who seem to be uninterested after a while in my results. I have a low thyroid and have abused my metabolism terribl\y in the past. I'm in menapause…

Looking for local EM2WL group members
Hello all! I've been doing EM2WL for a while now, and just went primal/paleo since Jan 7th 2013. I need to get into weight training and the intense cardio, but feel a bit discouraged. Looking to find someone or more than one person that is near me to maybe communicate a little more. Workout together, or looking for a more…

Quick Question
Hello, I find it easiest/best for me (for now) to eat back my exercise calories rather than doing TDEE -20%. Just because my calorie burn varies throughout the week. I had read to crunch your numbers on Scooby (using sedentary and 20% cut) take e bottom number and add back in your exercise calories. I found my BMR to be…
