Finally got my surgery date so nervous now!
I finally was able to schedule my sleeve for 10/13/15 and the nerves are kicking in. Any advice on making the pre-op diet tolerable? Thanks in advance.

SIPS / SADI / LOOP procedure
I was just curious if we have anyone in this group that has had the SIPS / SADI / LOOP procedure?

Getting Closer Every Day
I have had almost all of my appointments prior to getting insurance approval for the surgery. I have to have my psych eval as well as a sleep study....then I can schedule surgery. WooHoo!!! I have already started changing my diet so that it will be easier after I have surgery to adapt to my new lifestyle. The worst part is…

Introduction - 3 Months Post Gastric Bypass
Hello everyone. I'm new to the group as of the other day. I figured I'd finally introduce myself. I had gastric bypass on May 26th. As of now, I am down just about 50lbs. I had a very rough start in the beginning - complications from the surgery, an allergic reaction to a medication they use during surgery, 12 days in a…

Buyers remorse
my husband had RNY 1 week ago. He's frustrated or upset at this point and regrets his decision. I see my surgeon in 2 weeks. How many have felt this way just after surgery

Couch to 5k?
So, I'm about a month out from surgery, and am considering doing one of the couch 2 5k programs. Are there any you liked? Some seem a bit ambitious, even for day 1. Anyone want to join me?

Thigh numbness
has anyone experienced numbness, tingling and slight pain to thigh after surgery? My husband is experiencing this. I feel it may be related to anesthesia. I'm a nurse and I know the signs of a blood clot, which he has none. But he keeps complaining about it. I plan to call his dr to ease his nervousness.

Good visual!

New to group
hello! I'm new to this group. Sleeved November 2014. I'm down 96 pounds but feel I'm at a stall. I think my carbs are too high. I never tracked before but I'm willing to try. When you set your diet guidelines on here, what percentage was your carbs, protein, and fats? Thanks in advance

New to surgery and the group!
Hi all! My name is Laura and I just had the sleeve surgery on 8/24/15. I'm 20 years old, 5'7" and weighed 324.8 lbs on the date of my surgery. I'm 4 days out and have lost 8 lbs, which has pushed my BMI under 50 for the first time in a few years! My goal weight is around 150, and I would love to find some friends to be on…

RNY questions
my husband had his RNY on Wednesday. He's following the clear liquids. He's complaining of feeling bloated. Wondering if it's just gas or him drinking too much. He is using a measured cup so that he doesn't over do it. Any ideas? I keep telling him it could take a few days for the gas to go away.

2 years and gaining
Taboo topic for WLS forums but, a word to the wise, it is possible to slip back into old habits, and regain the weight! History: November 2013, 300 lbs, sleeved, lost 120 lbs in 9 months, held steady another 6 months, then over the course of the next 6 months gained 40 pounds back! On the road to re-losing the gain but…

Anyone else struggle with pre-op weight loss?
I am about 4 months from the point of scheduling my surgery and I'm feeling a bit frustrated with how much trouble I am having with my pre-op weight loss. I have lost about 10 pounds these first two months. I know that 27 years of over eating habits can't be fixed in a matter of two months, but it makes me nervous that I…

6 months since surgery - 102 lbs down
6 month surgiversary! I suck at photos and have a talent for not being in them so it was hard to find an accurate before. I've got 8 more pounds till onderland! Viva la VSG!

100 pounds lost -- progress picture
I'm currently at 102 pounds lost, with another 70 pounds to go. I started at 337 pounds and I was in a size 26 dresses/bottoms -- now I'm in 18's (and some 16's). I was wearing (or trying to wear) Maurice's size 4's at the start, but they barely fit (most actually didn't fit at all, but size 4 was the largest they went to)…

Slight Fear of Eating
I'm about one month out from VSG and I'm starting to get these odd fearful feelings regarding food. I need to eat in order to get enough protein and meet my nutrition requirements, but seeing my calorie consumption go from 250 a day to 450 and yesterday 700 has really made me feel strange. Especially since it's pairing up…

"Whine" and Cheese!
Helping out with 5 of the grandkids today, last minute, no notice and the cupboards are bare. One Mom brought two boxes of Mac & Cheese (chemical storm!) Another brought bagels, apples and PBJ's. I have rice cakes, frozen veggies, protein powder plus some canned goods (stewed tomatoes and sauerkraut) oatmeal and dry…

How to approach "but you're losing so much now you won't even need surgery!"
So, I've been pretty open telling people I'm having WLS in January. I'm close to 60 lbs down in my preop stage, and hope to lose another 40 or so before then. I talk to different people about weight loss and what I'm doing and have several times gotten the reply "but you've lost so much you won't even need surgery!". (I…

Doc jacking around my diet
So, I've been happily low carb since my January RNY. I have occasional crazy carb days, like my birthday two weeks ago, but most days were 30-45g. In the last 2 months, I've gone full keto. If my net carbs make it to 30g, it's a high day. Yesterday, my net was 12g and that makes me happy. Due to a requirement by my…

How long did you take off work
I have a job that I really enjoy, that isn't physically demanding, and that I can telecommute to for a while after surgery. Just wondering how long I'll really need to be out.

Progress Notes
This is a portion of today's blog post at 2poufs.blogspot.com/. I did a post last year on my birthday and another this year for comparison. RNY was January 19th. ***** These measurements were taken over a three-day period (18th, 19th, 20th) and averaged to account for fluid retention and other variable factors. All…

Isopure drinks, side effects?
I am in the beginning stages of getting surgery approval and tried an Isopure Alpine Punch protein drink today.. just half, and it is having EXPLOSIVE results. Literally. Sorry if it's TMI but has anyone else had this effect? I tried a drink to see how things would go before buying powder in bulk.

What's for lunch?
What are you all doing for lunches? Leftovers? I'm just coming off my post-op restrictions, so now my options are a little more open. It's still hard to come up with ideas on how to get in all the nutrition. I've been in a meat/lowfat cheese/yogurt rut. I need some better options that still fit the guidelines, now that…

What's your daily vitamin regimen?
Just curious, since most of us have such varying surgical program layouts. For my RNY I'm having to take: 3 Centrum Silver Chewable Mutivitamins (no iron)--Breakfast/lunch/dinner 1200-1500 mg Calcium Citrate (I usually do 2 500mg Bariatric Advantage cinnamon wafers for Breakfast, Lunch... I usually forget my nightly 250mg…

The right way to exercise
I have a question for all who have been exercising for a while. I have started slowly with walking and also strength training. My problem is my knees are so bad and my achilles tendon in both ankles are so tight that I struggle to make adequate process. I'm actually thinking it's my form and (excessive weight) that's…
