I don't think I've posted a link in here yet, but I started my own Podcast! bariatricrunner.libsyn.com/ The name kinda speaks for itself, but it's about bariatric surgery, running, and my journey from 403lbs to Full Marathon finisher. I started it with my girlfriend a few months ago. Unfortunately we recently broke up but…

Confessions of a Scale Junkie!
Hello everyone. I have a confession to make. I'm addicted to my scales. I get on the scales first thing in the morning and again before bed. I actually stress out if I'm out of town and can't access my scales. I've traveled with them, stole the batteries out of the remote when the scale batteries died, and worst of all I…

Ok so had my Peloton delivered yesterday. My husband who NEVER works out got a ride in within an hour of delivery - he had no real intention of using it but he broke a sweat doing a 10 min scenic ride. Yesterday and today I woke up with a migraine but was so looking forward to my ride. Took a ride live which finished just…

Hi All! I am sure many of you have done a pouch reset... can you tell me what that consists of for you? “Insert” your cuss word!
I know MFP bleeps our cuss words, but it seems to be a lot of us, just had a bad freakin day, month (so far) or even year! I stay away from the “social” message boards because it can sometimes get too raunchy, but maybe can keep it clean in this group? I just want to vent, but I don’t need some pervert chiming in... “So,…

Colonoscopy after VSG or Bypass
Has anyone here had a colonoscopy post surgery? I have one coming up for next week and I'm concerned about the fluid to clean my system out. They did give me something for bariatric patients but I'm concerned about how fast it will pass through my stomach and cramping.

Anyone got good tips for the puréed portion?? I have the usuals, low fat soup, shakes some soft meats but I am hoping for some variety... after 3 weeks of boost and 1 week of broth and jello I am now going to have to work at those healthier choices. Also I was not prepared for the emotions... not like “why did I do this?”…

Peloton?
Hey there - curious if anyone has a Peloton and if so what do you think of it? I pay WAY too much a month for a family gym membership and if I took my husband and daughter off of it i still will pay more than if I were to get a Peloton bike. Do you miss eating for pleasure?
This is a question that I probably know the answer to, but it’s one of my biggest fears about having surgery if I’m being honest w/myself (and all of you!). I’m a big-time pleasure eater & it seems like I’ll need to figure that part out. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Getting too comfortable
I haven’t been on MFP a lot these days because I tend to change my diet/lifestyle in the summer. It gets hot and humid and I usually substitute juices for solid foods. I don’t like to track my juices, even though I love my food scale, I hate measuring apples and pieces of ginger. Anyways, I always see on the forum that I…

2018 might do me in
I had my gastric bypass in March of 2015. I lost over 100 pounds, and felt great. I got off a lot of the social media (MFP included) because I just felt I spent too much time on them. Now, 2018 has just about killed me, but I am getting back on track. My mother passed away in February, and then our dog passed the next…

Reboot Time!!
So I’ve been in a funk and not trying/caring after my insurance denied the surgery, even though I knew I needed to stay on track with or without surgery. So it is Reboot Time! I had already started back and within a few weeks found myself already eating things I shouldn’t be eating! I am basically starting over and and…

Which is harder, losing weight or keeping it off?
I thought this was an interesting article. https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/which-is-harder-losing-weight-or-keeping-it-off/ Based on my previous yo-yo dieters experience I agree with the article about my focus and not having a plan to keep the weight off. Having a plan has made a difference in my 2-year weight maintenance.…

Hey everyone I’m so ashamed I did not lose 100lbs and my 1 year anniversary is coming. Yes I follow the program and yes I exercise 5 times a week average 30 minutes. I’ve only lost 61 pounds. I had a blood clot in my spleen at 4 mos post op. Ever since then I’ll lose the same 2-3 lbs. Like I lost 3 lbs last Friday by this…
