5’7”... HW was 212. I plateau every 15-20 pounds, and have spent most of my life at 170, 155, or 135. 155 and under looks fine. I’m 149 now and the problem with this weight is I’m smack in the middle of a US size 10-12. Nothing fits!!! Don’t want to go back up, so might aim for 135 and a size 10.

I’m 41 and lost 60 lbs. Don’t know if it counts cuz it’s taken 5 years. Don’t give up. I had a 10-month plateau and a 7-month plateau. Just keep going. Small habits. I went from whipped cream on my daily Frappuccino to no whip on a nonfat latte. Three cans of pop a day to one can a day five days a week. One piece of fruit…

A couple of pairs of my eyeglasses keep sliding down my face. My coworker who lost weight has the same problem. Now he scrunches up his nose when he talks. It’s cute (in a platonic way).

7 lbs. in a year. 51 lbs. in 54 months, at a pretty steady rate.

Love that dress on you, pretty lady!

Got a good deal on the trousers, too.

Good job! Keep going!

It's amazing how much social time is spent around food. You don't want to give up going for coffee or to restaurants. Here's what I do: -- split meals with friends. Instead of eating an entire entree, my friend and I order a salad, an entree, and a dessert, and split them These days restaurant portions are so huge, it…

Put off what I want til later. Then after a day or two passes, either I don't want it anymore, or life is telling me go ahead and enjoy myself. Applies to food, spending money, dying my hair purple. Someone once said, "If you can wait, you can do anything." Specific to weight loss, I weigh myself every day.

Thanks! I like the idea of aiming to RE-set. Also agree with getting sloppy -- 170 is a milestone for me so I slack off a little. Here's to discipline for future to bust through the 170 point.

So true. People can't just think themselves out of major psychiatric illnesses. See a doctor, meet a therapist, and follow their advice. Don't blame yourself if you aren't happy all the time.

You can't buy an old tattoo. B) (Quote from a country singer whose name I forgot.) And... all tattoos are temporary. ;) I have thick arms, and my tattoos there look fine after a 50 lb. pregnancy gain and loss. Belly would probably be different, especially if you are going for details and fine lines and anything geometric.…

My mini goals are the next weight "decade," 190-180-170 etc. Then healthy BMI (realize it's imperfect, but will make doctor happy), then 5 pounds under that to make me a size 12, then re-comp. Also, healthy BMI - 5 lbs. = weight in college. B)

Haha, same. The two or three days after my period starts I lose a whole pound. And no, not from THAT. :p

Yes, I always know if I overeat I'll feel bad later. But that never stopped me. Now I think if I don't overeat now, I'll feel good later. I have a friend who's addicted to various substances. She said that when she makes the decision in her mind that she's going to use that day, there's nothing that can stop her, even…

Thanks everyone. It felt good to read the support. That's so true... at least the habits that led to my highest weight, are gone. Lol about chocolate -- supposedly has antioxidants so it's healthy right? o:)

Anyone can add me. Turning 40 in October and hope to be maintaining a healthy BMI by then. Two kids, stressful job, parents in poor health. Happily married in the U.S. Was it always this hard for 40 year olds? People tended to have their kids earlier.

I only make suggestions when he says something disparaging about himself. Otherwise he would find it rude.

I lol at "brick of accomplishment." Fun story. Now "brick of accomplishment" is one of my mantras. :D

I used to weigh weekly but would get so frustrated if I was up a pound. Weighing daily I might be up a pound one day but will probably lose that and more by the end of the week. I like having the downward trend. All it takes is two weeks of weighing daily and you see you are losing, whereas two days in those two weeks…

Nice B)

Different people are hungry at different times of the day. It doesn't matter when you eat so long as you consume less than you burn. But from a behavior perspective, try to eat during the times of day when you naturally like to eat. I'm hungry from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm but couldn't care less about supper, so I eat every two…

Log your weight every day and give the process six weeks -- you will probably see a jagged but downward trend. Buy a new bra every 15 pounds. 10 if you can afford it.

I am weighing myself every day. I downloaded Happy Scale and it is motivating to do well every day so that the next day I can record my weight, and see that even if there are minor fluctuations, there still is a downward trend. I used to get frustrated weighing myself weekly because due to minor fluctuations in…

Do you really want this?

Glad to see you here. 212 was my highest non-pregnant weight. My first goal is 159 for healthy bmi, then 135 final goal. My advice is to count calories, and also pick one small habit to change one month at a time.

Every 15 pounds-ish

Be happy with yourself for stopping the downward spiral and stepping on the scale before things get worse. :D

^ :'( Yes, I feel like that sometimes. It helps to think about long term progress. Even if you don't get results right away, if you keep working at it, you will at least get a little better. Hang in there.

Yeah my belly will never be the same. But I am going to follow the example of all the awesome ladies who lift. They tend to have good results.
