It's a short 30min program mainly about people who live in wales. It doesn't really go in depth just skims the surface. He is trying to challenge government guidelines and goes LCHF for 3 weeks. It's ok but nothing special.

One stone is 14 lbs, and 16 oz is 1 lb etc.

Believe me, it IS boring eating the same things ay in and day out. I prepare my weekly meals on Sunday and spread the food out over the week because I don't really like to cook that much. I use a different food diary now, but I recall being amused every time I hit that button at the end of the day..... OP, congrats on your…

I'm 5”3’. 12 weeks ago I was at my heaviest ever (not counting pregnancy) 136lbs. I've lost 12lbs in 12 weeks, I’m now down to 123 and aiming for 112lbs. It is difficult because of the height restrictions! Two days of the week I’m am completely sedentary making my TDEE 1500 cals so i've only got 300 cal margin. If you’re…

I've been trying to hit my macros now too. After 12 steady weeks I feel like I'm in a good food and exercise routine and to start focusing on the macros. I find it really easy to hit protein and fat but always fall short on the carbs.

Yes, i know but after while it works out your pattern. When i check back the day after or after midnight it still will say over eaten. The 90 cals i was talking about yesterday now says 75 over and that day is finished. Yesterday my total burn was 2853, fitbit gave me 2103 to eat where as MFP gives me 2603, I would gain…

I think it depends on your height and weight etc. I don’t look at the MFP totals I only eat what the Fitbit app says in the actual app. I use MFP pal to log my food only then sync to my Fitbit app and I follow the Fitbit based on my actual TDEE. I am only 5’ 3” so being 123lbs set at sedentary MFP sets my maintenance at…

I only use mfp to log my food. I eat the calories that my Fitbit app tells me to in the app not here. The Fitbit app is my actual tdee so today for example up until now I have over eaten 90 cals as per my Fitbit app where as my fitness pal is telling me that I still have 800 cals left to eat. Mfp always seems to be way…

You can pick either but it's easier to drop the stone as it's just a multiple of pounds. So instead of 9st 2lbs 8oz try 128.8 pounds.
-
It all depends on what mfp has worked out your tdee to be or maintence calories. Once your exercise or steps goes over this amount you start to get positive adjustments. To find this you need to access the website not the app, click on the exercise tab, then in exercise diary under the cardiovascular heading there is a…

I love my charge HR and current waiting for the charge HR2 to be delivered. I don't think it over estimates at all. You may think you won't use the other features but they do become very addictive. My husband has just bought the surge after listening to me for the pass year. He said he only wanted to monitor his heart rate…

I've ordered my charge HR 2 just waiting for it to arrive. It said back order 3-5 days. It's now been three whole days. I've sold my old charge HR on eBay so have to disconnect, erease data and send off today. I'm lost with out my Fitbit. it's going to be hard to wait the next couple of days for my new one. Better get here…

I use it at the gym on the massage setting after a workout to stop the next day sore muscles. It helps with that but I can't say its good for exercise or weight loss. Massage tool only. It may also reduce the appearance of cellulite but I can't 100% say whether that's from the workouts or calorie counting.

I log food on here but only eat the calories stated in my Fitbit app. I don't follow the adjustments on here otherwise I would be over eating. Your Fitbit app show tdee eat a deficiet of that as that's your actual calories burned MFP is based on your assumed level of activity or a level you get it, not actuals.

Yes but I prefer to do the before and after because sometimes it much later. i.e when I'm in the office I will weigh, eat straight from the pot over a period of time and then re weigh later.
-
Weighing and logging everything is a diet must as eveyone has said. I think the main thing I've learnt is sticking to a routine that's works for you. Weighing and logging needs to be automatic and I have found that sometimes it can be difficult. I have taken to photographing everything I eat and drink. That way if I'm in a…

I would like a tracker more into fitness like the surge or blaze but I don't want a big watch type tracker. I already have a stunning omega watch one one wrist and don't want a sports watch on the other. Would you say there's a lot of difference between the the charge and surge function wise?

If I eat as per my Fitbit app tdee with a 1000 deficit losing 2 lbs I find it's very accurate. I love spreadsheets and have built a whole spreadsheet around my Fitbit and MFP data. I weight all my food and log everything. I only take my Fitbit off to charge (while a sleep) and when I'm in the shower. According to my spread…

Since having my Fitbit charge HR I only follow what my Fitbit app tells me to eat. I don't follow MFP any more, I only use MFP to log food which pulls into my Fitbit app.
-
I've had my charge HR for almost a year. I will difinately be upgrading to the charge HR 2. Counting down the weeks but I have fallen in love with the limited edition lavender and rose <3 which isn't released until November. Don't think I can wait and might have to just get the normal one.

When you view all food as calorie spend. How much do I have to spend? Sitting in a resturant/cafe calculating your total spend, entering it in to your diary then when you ask for the bill your mind thinks veggie breakfast 194 + extra egg 93 + pot of tea 11 = 298 and the waitress says that's £6.50 please. You double take…

Like I said. I have never tried it myself I was just mentioning something that I read in another post on here. Also they didn't say they were going to blow in all in one meal.

I normally get 3 to 4 days just out of mine. I charge it over night on the forth night. I find the battery dies quicker the more silent alarms I set. I don't have the wrist flick display on, and it's set to all day sync. I have heard but turning all day sync off you can get to the optimum 5 day.

I read a thread on here a few weeks go someone saying that they divide their weekly cals by 8 and eat 6 days at that level, then leave the remainder for the 7 cheat day. ie 1,500 per day = 10500 per week. /8 = 1312 @ 6 days and 2625 @ 1 day given you a total of 10500. I haven't tried it myself but this poster had said it…

As a rule of thumb I normally use a range of 7-8 cals for minute of high cardio burn. I have a Fitbit heart rate monitor and all my runs, Zumba classes,' body combat any high non stop cardio comes is 7-8 cals per minute. Never had it higher then that. I am only female 5'3" weighing 125 pounds though.

I love playing a game of lowest calorie per g of protein. ie. Prawns 4.1 cals, scallops 5.2 cals, fat free cottage cheese 6.9 cals, cod 4.5 cals, tuna 4.3 cals, billtong 4.9 cals. Great way to top up protein on spending the least cals.

Lyle McDonald on Metabolic Damage: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/another-look-at-metabolic-damage.html/ ...the science doesn’t support [starvation mode] in any way shape or form. No study in humans in 50 years has ever shown the claimed phenomenon. I mean not ever. Not a single study showing truly stopped fat…

I think we all understand you can still eat out and lose weight I think was the OP is saying is how under realistic most menus are. For example in the past I would going out and have a starter, main and pudding. But when you follow a calories restricted diet not even restricted but eaten to a maintence level I found that…
