I suppose it could be beneficial if you use it on your salad instead of a creamy dressing...

I had a whole tub of non-dairy Ben and Jerry's for brunch today :joy: :joy: No shame.

Once, my brother was reheating some leftover pasta in the microwave. He pressed the 'pasta' button, not realising that that was for cooking raw pasta, not reheating it... 25 minutes later, he realised that the microwave hadn't stopped yet. So he grabbed the (plastic!) bowl out and only the rim came out. The rest of it, and…

Not sure about the whole *clean/unclean* thing, but I use hemp protein powder. It doesn't blend quite as well as other powders, and I'm told it has a bit of a funky smell (I'm anosmic). I like that it is unflavoured and unsweetened, because I can't stand the taste of sweeteners like stevia. I've never had GI problems using…

Vegemite and raspberry jam on toast :p

If you don't like the idea of low carb, don't do it. You're more likely to stick to a deficit if you are eating foods you enjoy. And low carb won't help you lose any faster! :)

When I used to eat eggs, I'd feel sick if I ate them scrambled. Fried, boiled, poached were all fine. I'd also get the same stomach ache after eating pancakes, french toast, but not waffles. Maybe the milk + eggs + frying pan combination?? Idk, it's weird :|

For weight loss, the only thing that matters is sticking to your calorie goal. Personally, I try to meet my protein, iron and fibre goals, then fat (usually not hard lol) and I don't really worry about carbs or sodium.

I like plain soft tofu. No marinade or seasoning. I had a friend in high school who loved triple salt liquorice. That stuff is nasty :s

Last night on A Current Affair (Australia), there was a story on some 7 day diet. It was your typical rubbish; only fruit on day 1, but no bananas, you can eat butter and oil on day two, but still no bananas, etc. What horrified me was that they had an accredited dietician claiming that it could make you lose 7 kg in 7…

My main issue with making it myself is the mess. We end up with cauliflower EVERYWHERE! Woolworths here in Australia has riced cauliflower in the fresh section, but it's crazy overpriced.
-
I had this issue too. When I first started counting calories, I guessed my portions and was able to start losing weight. After a while, I started to weigh foods that could be easily tracked (not much point weighing out a serve of casserole if you don't know what and how much is in it) Finally, after a lot of argument,…

I don't believe that SSRIs themselves cause weight gain/loss. I experienced a loss of appetite for the first 4-6 weeks of taking SSRIs (sertraline/zoloft) and lost weight because I just couldn't eat much. On the other end of the scale, it may cause a increased appetite, therefore causing weight gain by simply eating more.…

I weighed in this morning at my lowest weight since I was about 13 years old. I celebrated by drowning a pack of oreos in a glass of milk. It was delicious. What do you enjoy? If you like being pampered, have a manicure or facial. If you enjoy the outdoors, maybe go on a bushwalk or hike.

The woman who wrote this it isn't an MD, however she was a naturopathic doctor, and now debunks naturopathic "science" and treatments. Here is her website: https://naturopathicdiaries.com/

I've been without a sense of smell since birth and I've always been overweight.. :|

Lately, I've been making a chickpea flour tortilla to go with my lunch/dinner, which is usually a stew or curry.

I'm not fussed with regular muffins, but an English muffin with baked beans is the best. On a side note, Wikipedia says that three states in the US have official state muffins: Massachusetts - corn muffin Minnesota - blueberry muffin New York - apple muffin Is a corn muffin anything like cornbread?

My IBS is "in remission" at the moment, but I found the best thing for my bad days was to drink plenty of water and eat really plainly, like rice, steamed veg, peanut butter sandwich, etc. I also took loperamide if needed. As far as calorie counting, I'd say just stick to your goal, and if you find that you're losing too…

Plain potato chips. I buy the small, single serve packs. If there's a big bag, I'm probably going to eat the whole thing.
-
Something you may not have considered is herbs and spices. Paprika, cumin and thyme all have quite a bit of iron in them.
-
The only cereal I am willing to spend calories on is weet-bix. One serve, which is two pieces, is just over 100 calories. I can easily eat four, which is around 250 cal and very filling.
-
Original potato chips (crisps). I try to keep only small packets in the house, because if there is a big bag, I might end up eating the whole thing :D
-
I have a PB smoothie/milkshake for breakfast every morning. 20g PB2, 20g natural peanut butter, 250mL soy milk, 10mL maple syrup and a few ice cubes. It's tasty and keeps me full for hours.

I am one of those young people. Damn those smashed avos for ruining my chances of buying a house. Nevermind the fact that the median house price in Sydney is now well over $1 million. :D

The USDA food database only includes the edible portion of the fruit: Peaches Apricots We DO have calculators though ;)

What do you need help with in particular? I've been vegetarian for years, and have gone through all the different types of veg; pescatarian, vegan, raw, and am now happily back to vegan. Feel free to add me if you'd like :)
