^No fish for vegetarians. op: I don't think it is possible unless you restrict to solely oils, nuts and seeds. Why restrict so much ?

Weeks 6 and 7 were brutal for me. I think it was a mental hurdle. I can't rationalize it otherwise. Week 8 was super smooth and enjoyable

Thats how I feel about my stomach. Exactly. The rest of my body looks (now) thin and fit, and then there's my stomach :(

If you have to wonder whether people's reaction will be positive and supportive, then don't post. If your Facebook audience is a select group of friends that you know will infuse you with positive energy and will genuinely be happy for you, then by all means.

If gaining muscle is your goal, I will give you the standard "MFP fitness answer" and say "Lift heavy, bro." Seriously. Gaining muscle while losing fat is a difficult task, but not impossible. There's a great sticky thread here somewhere about "recomp" it has great information about workouts and nutrition. If I find the…

It depends on what your goals are. Cardiovascular fitness is super important to me, so I do cardio regularly. People tend to give weightloss and fitness advice based on what their own goals are. You just have to clear plan as to what you want to achieve and then you can go about the best way to achieve it.

Thank you for the tips. Now, If could only remember to turn Map My Run on and off :/ I either forget to turn it on, or leave it on for days -- that's why I was considering other options. But maybe if I try to make it a habit... IDK. This race just had a general grouping (sign) for 10 + So all the "slower" ones all grouped…

@Elise4270 Which one do you have now? (and like) You are right that I would rather spend a little more upfront than buy something poorly made -- that will have to be replaced quickly and won't perform as well. Thanks in advance

Yay!!!! Congratulations, Becky!!!

Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone! I ran my Turkey Trot yesterday and it was spectacular. The temperature was about 65, so total perfection and unnaturally mild for my location so I was on cloud 9. I was hoping to make it a family event and rented a double Bob Revolution for my husband to push our kids, but when we got…

The conversation should have gone like this: sister: You're doing really well! Nice job! me: Thanks! How are you doing? That's it. No more. Your ambivalence about whether you will be able to achieve your goals gave her the impression that you need or are asking for help.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I completed C25K today!!!! yay!!! After nearly 2 weeks of sucky runs, today's was amazing. This morning's weather was perfect: 62F / 17C (which only happens a handful of times here, since I live on the surface of the sun and all...) Anyway, I was able to run the whole 40 minutes (after struggling with 28) and even sprinted…

Amazing job! I think it is fantastic that you were so inspired by Vismal's thread. It really goes to show the power of this community. I think, in turn you will inspire other people to do the same and the cycle will continue. Thank you for sharing, you look fantastic :)

I have a 4 y/o and a 5 y/o (Irish twins :) I just started being able to focus on "me time" now - after all these years!!! Feel free to add me

Loved it - Thank you :)

I do yoga three times a week and there's usually a period of guided meditation at the end. Sometimes, at night I listen to an MP3 by Roberta Saphiro that's guided meditation and visualization to help fall asleep. I find it very effective. I've been meaning to get a meditation DVD by Gaiam / Rodney Yee because I really like…

Also fitnessblender.com - you pick exercise videos by workout type, equipment needed and difficulty - and it's all free!

The most important part of weight loss is your diet and being able to maintain a sufficient caloric deficit. With that said, I started to see a difference about 2 weeks in. I am sure it all depends on the person, goals, body composition / starting point, workout routine, intensity and all that. I also started C25K and I am…

I have 4 bulging discs in my neck. I find shoulder raises (front and lateral) difficult, as well as shoulder presses and snatch -- very hard. I still do them, but very controlled, and much lower weight than a "normal" person. I also have 2 herniations: 1 at mid back, 1 at low back. "Lifting Heaving, bro" is just not…

2nd. So true.

I don't go to the gym. It bores me to tears --So can't help you there. But this is what I do, and what keeps me motivated: • Running = I love seeing all the wild life when I am outdoors (I am normally *very* indoorsy) and I love the relaxed and mellow feeling I get after a run • Kettlebells = I feel powerful and my core is…

What a beautiful picture. My 5k time is going to be slightly longer than yours. I am on Week 8 Day 1 of C25K and I was kind of bummed when I realized that there's no way I will be able to do it in under 40 minutes. But then I started thinking about the fact that I am doing this for me. I don't have to run. I don't plan to…

I have one at home but I haven't been able to use it without compromising my back. Mine is the cheap one with two thin wheels and the straight handles. My core is not strong enough to be able to maintain proper alignment and stabilize myself. A friend of mine has the "deluxe" one, with thicker wheel, softer rubber material…

I record the calorie burn with my HRM and created an entry for KB as "Cardio". The program that I am doing now is continuous (no breaks between sets/exercises) so it definitely gives me a cardio burn.

Great job!!!
