  • Well done! Keep up the good work 👍 Sounds like you’re enjoying the buzz 😀
  • Thanks so much for all your great advice. I really appreciate it. I'll build up to 10k and go from there. Thanks again :)
  • Natural almonds, raisins, celery sticks, carrot sticks and houmous are all easy and quick "snacks" for when the urge gets you :)
  • Congratulations!! You look amazing! Is that the same girl? You must be over the moon.. well done! :)
  • Congratulations! Wow well done you!! I like your 5 simple rules.. So true!! There's no point doing this and bending the truth and then saying it doesn't work!
  • Welcome! I felt exactly the same as you.. I started in September and loved the site straight away. It really teaches you where you're going wrong! I'm just maintaining now as I lost 30 lbs. Once you've lost what you want to you, your calories per day increases too :) Good luck!
  • Try a cup-a-soup if you fancy something warm and savory. A bowl of fat free yogurt with grapes and slices of apple and a squeeze of natural honey for something sweet. Nothing worse than going to bed hungry! Just make sure you save enough cals for the evening or go for a quick walk to gain the cals you need for a snack.
  • Good question! Got to have a day off the diet I'm thinking. Will still log everything I eat/drink though, so I can balance it out over the following week. 1 day can't make such a huge difference surely?! Don't want to lose my count of days again.. I got to 110 and went away for the weekend and we didn't have wi fi in the…
  • Drink lots of water and do some walking during the day to give you some extra calories to consume. As soon as you get to your goal weight and change your settings to maintain, you'll be allowed more calories.. so it's not forever. Also, I found it's like giving up smoking.. the craving for food does start to go once you…
  • Drinking lots of water works! Well it did for my little girl. Have heard fennel seeds work too but couldn't find any.. Have cereals high in fibre for breakfast too

  • Well done to you!! They say the slower it comes off the easier it is to keep off so don't worry. It's better than yo yo 'ing up and down like a lot of people. You should be very proud of yourself :)
  • Hi ya, I work in stones/lbs too. It's easier if you work it out like this. 10 Stone = 140 lbs. Then you just need to minus the amount you're under. So there's 14 lbs to a stone, if you're 9-11 then you need to minus 3 lbs which totals 137 lbs. You were 144 lbs so you've lost 7 lbs! Half a stone.. Well done :) Let's not get…
  • I know what you mean. I think people who say they eat nothing are kidding themselves or are just clueless as to what food is high in calories. They pretend in their head they've eaten nothing so they can blame being over weight on anything else rather than over eating. People who say they eat loads and have lost weight…
  • Just get some healthy alternatives in for you.. Let the kids enjoy their treats.. A few fun size chocs wont hurt you if you can't stick to your healthy stuff
  • There's no point.. You don't need to cheat. If you want to go over your cals one day, do it and record your food honestly.. you just need to eat lower the next day. Zig zagging your cals some days is actually recommended. As long as you even out your cals by the end of the week.. allow yourself a treat
  • If you like them, get them. They don't look very sturdy though so I wouldn't get them as your winter boots! All the new freshers are wearing them.. Try them on and if they're comfortable then why not! :)
  • Here are a few I have.. Hope it helps :) Low fat crackers with low fat cheese spread or marmite/slimmers cup a soups/rice cakes/celery with low fat cheese spread inside/raw carrots with low fat houmous/weetabix with milk/organic baby biscuits

  • Hi there, When do you walk your dogs now? If you're walking for 45 mins a day already then this is good exercise. You could walk them for 20 mins in the morning and then again for 25 mins after work while your dinner is in the oven? Not sure how you'd feel going out and leaving the oven on.. if not then could you eat your…
  • I do the same.. You have to have some days with a treat! I normally treat myself on the day or day after I've weighed in then I have the rest of the week to even it out. Good question! It's good to know a lot of others do the same :)
  • Is that how you spell houmous in the states? It's a shame it has so much fat/cals as I love it too!
  • Hi there, I'm no expert but it sounds like you're building muscle by going to the gym. When you were walking and doing exercises at home this burned off a lot of cals. Maybe continue with what you were doing until you get to your target weight then go to the gym to tone. You could start measuring instead of weighing then…
  • You defo should go out and celebrate with your parents. Just make sure your other meals that day are healthy and do some exercise so you'll have loads of free cals for your birthday meal! Happy birthday and enjoy! :drinker:
  • You've just got to read all the success stories to know that MFP works. This site allows you to pretty much eat what you want so it's the best all rounder way to lose weight. You don't have to deny yourself anything within reason. You just have to make sure you exercise enough to burn off any extra cals. If the other diets…
  • Have a sandwich with ham or cheese and loads of salad.. Drink a few glasses of water before and you will feel full and it'll only be about 400 cals (if you use low fat cheese and marg). You could always have a fat free yoghurt afterwards or a rice cake?
  • Go for it. We all deserve a treat now and then and it's better to have something with high cals than to eat nothing!

  • Thank you! Congrats on your 14 lbs loss too!! :) I hope your sister isn't going down the not eating route :( The only 2 weeks I didn't lose anything was the 2 weeks I under ate thinking I'll lose it quicker. The good fact is.. your body is like a machine. It needs fuel to work!! Thanks again and good work :)
  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!! That's one of the things I love about this site.. all the lovely people! Thanks for all your kind words and well done and congratulations to all of you and have a fab weekend
  • You do look really skinny but as long as you're healthy with it I wouldn't worry. He's probably just concerned that you'll disappear if you lose even more weight.
  • I find it easy if you think of "meat meals" and just substitute with Quorn products. My favourites to make are: * Fajita's (pieces or mince) * Lasagne (mince) * Chilli con Quorn (mince) with rice or a big jacket potato * Bolognaise (mince) with any pasta * Sweet and sour Quorn (pieces) with rice * Toad in the hole…
  • Instead of taking legal action which will probably distance the relationship between the son/daughter with their Father more.. Why not spend the energy and time trying to build the relationship back. Given time I'm sure they will forgive him for leaving their Mother and allow him to see his Grandchildren again. Children…
