Maybe it's the way you phrase your advice? Not having read your posts other than this one, I wouldn't know. I'm going to assume this post sounds the way it does because it's a rant. And some of the items - I agree. But not all of them. The 1200 calories? According to charts, I'm morbidly obese. When I put my goals in MFP,…

Or Spaceballs?  All Star Trek for me. My 11 yr old heart was broken when Spock died in Wrath of Khan, and I wanted a pet Tribble. Geek from birth here. Although, I think Firefly definitely should be in the running. And perhaps not in the caliber of these others, but I liked the other Roddenberry series,…

Seriously? Did you never read/watch anything about all of our prior presidents? Regardless of who was president, someone has always said things about them. You're the one who pulled the race card.

This. None of these companies claim they are health food companies. These are simply an option that, while not the best food you could eat, is still healthier than say a Banquet frozen dinner or McDonalds.

Today? Chips & salsa for lunch. Nothing else, just chips & salsa. Oh, and breakfast was two pieces of reduced fat cheese. On a regular basis? Frozen meals most days for lunch. Personally, I don't think it's that big of an issue but it does seem to be a major trigger on MFP.

I'm still trying to figure out where you get the idea that creationism or religion is taught in public schools? Definitely wasn't taught in mine. I don't expect the government to pay for my education. I expect the government to find a way to keep American jobs in our country rather than letting them be outsourced to other…

You look amazing! Wear the bikini, and have fun in it! By the way, I love your hair!

Divorce is only one factor out of so very many. It wouldn't knock anyone out of consideration for me. I'm more concerned with things like personal responsibility, work ethic, common goals and interests, the way he treats others, has or wants children, etc... Divorce is just a failed relationship, with paperwork attached.…

I'm still friends with my ex in-laws so I actually got to hear a couple of things that he told other people. I think the best one that my alcoholic, cheating, abusive ex told was that I cheated on him, and gave him HIV, so that they would let him move in (the sympathy vote). Went a step further and said none of his family…

Or the other parent of the kids.

Nobody said 'he couldn't have kids, but has to love mine". A lot of women just don't want children, so it would be a deal breaker. Or you are at an age where the idea of young kids in the house again is just not your thing. Both of which apply to me. If I were a single parent, I wouldn't 'expect' anyone to date me. I would…

I love that quote. :) <--Single in Nashville

Our trainer says all fruits should be avoided. Fruits. Seriously? I had a migraine one day, and he saw a grapefruit on my desk. He said if I would quit eating fruit, I wouldn't get migraines. I don't take nutrition advice from him.

I'm still trying to figure out how they became celebrities?
-
^ This. I live in Nashville. You run into country / movie celebs all over, and to be honest, most of us "Nashvillians" could care less. But you can definitely spot the tourists. Unless Bieber is in town. Then all the teeny boppers lose their minds. I don't undersand the fascination.

I have every intention of getting a reduction when I'm at the end of the weight loss journey. I've always been large breasted, even when I weighed 125. Now, I have back pain, neck pain and permanent indents in my shoulders from bra straps. I love yoga, but hate it when my own chest suffocates me. I would have it done…

Call your doctor, or talk to your pharmacist. Zantac doesn't normally have that effect.

I think both are beautiful!

I took a class once called Communication Skills for Women. The speaker actually addressed this situation. She said to rub the skin between your finger and thumb. Also, (if you can do it wihtout looking like you are rolling your eyes), look up toward the ceiling. And a deep breath always helps. I know it sounds like speaker…

I like Lean Cuisine, and have no desire to spend my day off cooking for the week so they work well for me. As for the sodium, most are around 500. A can of soup is around 1400. And Lean Cuisine has 90 meals that have NO preservatives. I do add some veggies though, because it isn't a very big meal. I guess my thought is you…

235 - Arnold Schwarzenegger? really?

I didn't even know what it was until recently. :) I don't think I could keep up with it, although I've recently added tabata training to my workout.

I've always lost back and belly fat first. Arms are the last unfortunately, as far as seeing big changes. But I think that it's just that I see the dramatic changes in those areas first, because measurements prove that I lose in all areas steadily, when I'm keeping with the program.

I always use my HRM when I try a new machine. Our machines here at work have been pretty spot on, but the ones in a gym I belonged to were always high. And MFP is usually twice as high.

Agreed. And sometimes depression runs too deep to 'self-treat'.

Beans, eggs, lots of stuff with protein.
