I remember years ago when I didn't have time to exercise (well, I did but I was too lazy to!) and I ate my maintenance calories, but I still lost weight after taking fat and carb blockers (6kg in 2.5 months). I wouldn't normally advocate taking diet pills because I feel a healthy diet and exercise regime is best BUT...…

Not quite sure why so many people are put out by the term itself... what does it matter? What a waste of energy on an unimportant issue! There are heaps of really good meatless recipes out there, but my favourites are: http://www.theglutenfreevegan.com/ http://www.yummly.com/browse/quick-and-easy (does all sorts and you…

Even though I don't eat fish (I'm a vegetarian) I would recommend you only buy locally caught fish if you can (I don't know whether you live by the coast or not but just in case) and only line-caught fish. It's also a good idea to perhaps buy the fish that aren't usually in high demand because those tend to be cheaper. All…

Seriously WOW! You've done an amazing job with all that work and dedication!

Try making your own breads. It's fun, burns calories and provides the type of flexibility you aren't likely to see in the shop (in terms of flavours AND calorie content). Suggested Ingredients to use: - Quinoa flour (this is pricey but really bumps the protein content up so you won't want as much due to satiety), - Oat…

I've have bouts of major binging episodes. I know it's been mentioned: Intermittent Fasting... but there is the One-Day diet that is apparently effective. You fast for 22 hours and then when you do it you have 2 hours in which to eat what the hell you want. Turns out that the quantity sorts itself out in the end... after…

The thigh is usually measured about 1-2 inches below your bum... your widest part of the top of your thigh.

I use walking a lot, especially if I have the whole day where I can go for a hike and explore my area. It may not burn off the most calories but it's gentle. I also use it as the perfect excuse to walk everywhere! If it takes under 30 minutes to get somewhere, I walk. If something is miles and miles away, I get off early…

I once unintentionally ate cabbage soup every day for 1 week because I literally only had enough money for 1 cabbage, 1 pack of onions and stock cubes... it was probably only 100 kcal a serving. I lost 3lb. :/ I wasn't even on a diet at the time.

now that you point that out, i'm not sure how I thought it could be the latter... thanks!

He should know better than to do that! There are a number of dangers to having a tapeworm in the body. I might watch it though... :)

I know I get at least 5/day but it's not unusual to fit in 8-10. I genuinely don't understand how so few people eat their veggies... seriously? How can you not know how to fit them in?

I can't eat gluten so I gave them a go but I do not recommend them at all. I didn't just try them once either, I kept at it for a week. The taste - or lack thereof - can just about be ignored. They do take on the flavour of whatever you put with it, but only an extent. It is the texture that really lets it down. I felt…

The obvious answer seems: Don't go to those places and eat your own food instead. But I'm sure you would be doing that if it was an easy option. So, I guess my only advice would be to eat salad if it is available (no dressing or on the side so you can control how much) or if they don't offer that (I am British so don't…

I'm 52.7kg (roughly 116lb). Measurements: 32-25-34. I'm small boned, have a just-healthy BMI of 18 (not that I believe it is a very good measure but hey ho), I've chunky thighs considering the rest of my measurements but I'm good with that (it's mostly muscle so..)

Hiya! I am gluten intolerant. I've not been diagnosed with anything but the evidence speaks for itself. At first I found it challenging (when the realisation of what the cause of all my IBS problems was caused by) but then I learned a new way of life. Now if I think, "Oh I really fancy that cake", my first thought isn't "a…

Oh to be at that stage would amazing... So definitely a good thing, I think.

Thanks. I will bare this in mind.

My staples are: Brown rice Arborio rice Quinoa Dried beans (need rehydrating) Oats Potatoes (white and/or sweet) Frozen veggies Fresh seasonal veg when can afford to: I buy bananas every week + 1 other fruit box for the week if within budget Nut butter (Wholeearth or Meridian = planet and body friendly: no nasty palm oil…

I'm of the mind that if you have the time and your body is asking for a rest, obey. You eat when you are hungry and move when you feel like stretching your muscles... this is no different. Sleep is just as important. I just woke from my 2 hour nap... I sleep in the middle of the day as much as I can... but not enough to…

I'm 5'7.5 and weight 120lb but am hoping to build on that with some muscle and get really toned. I don't have a goal... I imagine an extra 5-8lb should be enough to make me look healthy. (Not that I look unhealthy at this smaller weight as I'm really small boned and it looks natural on me.)

Maize is pretty good. It doesn't really have the full protein, per se, but it does contain each of the 8 essential amino acids (the special protein building blocks). I like to eat it in the form of polenta to be honest... then I can use it to replace potato.

In an ideal world I would be vegan but I love my real cheese and eggs too much not to, so I am going to compromise by having fewer of them instead. I already don't drink moo milk but that's because I genuinely prefer the taste of soya anyway.

Eat when you are hungry. Obey your body's call! If you're not hungry, leave it, your body doesn't need it, that's why you're not hungry!

Mini-Exercise: 1. While you wait for the kettle to boil do jumping jacks/star jumps 2. Squat each time your brush your teeth 3. Do 10 minute stretching exercises when you wake up 4. When sitting, try and walk around for 5 minutes every 30 minutes (meant to reduce celulite; not sure how accurate that is but runs on the…

Tell me if I'm wrong but I heard that you eat normally for the first 6 months of pregnancy and from then on only eat an additional 200 calories per day. I think I heard if from Dr Jesson (you know, the supersize vs superskinny doc).
