One of the Lifetime Fitness locations in the Mpls area offers them (St Louis Park). Right now with their 60 day challenge (so for this month) you get two scans AND two meetings with the nutritionist to go over the results for only $49. So if there's a Lifetime near you, see if they have an LT Clinic and offer DEXAs. I was…

"I hate to tell you this but statistically when a partner is unnecessarily jealous and suggests or suspects that you may be cheating it is very likely it is because they themselves are cheating. Especially if the behavior is new or recently increased. You may want to be extra aware of HIS whereabouts and behavior right…

What a tough spot. There are SO many red flags about this man. He can be wonderful in 1,000 ways but if he doesn't trust you, or treat you well, or let you be your own person and make your own decisions, this is not a good relationship. ("Let" is not a part of any good relationship.) He's not going to change until or…

You ladies know your stuff (although what is right for me, that's the trick). I'll be following, and I'm looking up whole30 right now, kmsnomaha. Thanks!

Way to go! You should be extremely proud!

I'm 5'8" and while I got down to 144 about 10 years ago, I'm now shooting for 150-155 for a reasonable range. 144 was too low for my body to maintain and still live my life. Also, I'm now well into my 40's which means 1) it's harder to lose, and 2) I don't care nearly as much, but I still want to feel good about my bod.

The more friends the better, so any of you can add me as well! 43, 4 kids (12, 13, 14, 15), love to cook, love a nice cocktail hour. Currently 170, shooting for the 150-155 range. 5'8"

You look fantastic and that dress is AWESOME! Good job!

But salt is so GOOD! Is the body indeed working to "burn off that salt" or does it just make the body retain water? I'm fine with having a few extra pounds of water if my food tastes good. I can avoid sugar all year long but salt-free? No way. Does it really make that much difference?

I'm late to the party but I like the weekly goal thought: I'm going out of town with girlfriends, so mine are a little weird... ~Ski or snowshoe twice on Sat ~Forgo dessert ~Bring healthy snacks and avoid the Gardettos ~Drink all my water! ~Follow my exercise plan What day is zero day, as in post-the-goal day? I weigh…

I wanted to do the Mpls but I'm out of town. In theory, I want to do the Irish for a Day 5K next month but the tech shirts are UGLY! What to do, what to do... The Get in Gear at the end of April can be great, if weather cooperates.

Bump. I just happened to take my pre-bikini pic, we'll see how that goes! (must transfer from phone, then I'll post it) 7 weeks to Spring Break!

Great attitude! I can't do 100 burpees....yet. I'm in! Nothing like doing a hard thing you hate to feel a sense of accomplishment. Off I go. Shooting for 25 today. We'll see...

It depends--would that be 8:15 pm? I'm much more of a morning exerciser, but I'm at XT all the time and I would LOVE a buddy. I'm starting the 10K training this week and I play tennis there a lot. Let me know!

5'8", 172, size 12 usually, L tops. Looks pretty static along the thread! Goal is 155, size 8 (probably), and just more room in my L tops. My shoulders are ginormous.

Thanks for the invite! I'm Sarah from the Minneapolis area. I cook, love my vino, entertain regularly, play tennis and kinda sorta run. I have four teenagers who are sick of me touting the goodness of protein and the evils of sugar. I can stay away from the sweets, but the tepanade? Good cheese? The wine? Not so easy. I…

Woo hoo! Nice work! I'm 26, working for 22.

Wow. Very interesting. Doing what I can to avoid MCI or Alzheimer's is at the forefront of my mind lately, so thanks. Yet another reason to limit carbs.

I built a simple desk to fit on my treadmill so I can walk (only 2mph) while I do all my computer-related work in the mornings. Last week, instead of sitting on my a*s while online, I walked 10 miles and burned a load of cals. $13 at Home Depot, people. Little things!

I'm 42, a stay-at-home mom in MN with four kids (two are steps) 11, 13, 13, 14. I play tennis, attempt to run and just started weight training. I cook and love a nice glass or two of wine. (sound familiar, 40s?) Please add me as a friend! Messages are motivating for us all! Thanks!

I'm just joining, and after a salt-filled yesterday I'm pumped to reduce that bloat! CW: 172.8 GW: 155 or so My current goal is to get into the 160s. I was 170.6 on Saturday morning but then...weekend. I wasn't terrible, but enough to make the scale go up, not down. I'm determined to get there this week! Playing an…

Richard T Anderson Conservation Area is a great hike right in the cities and not so well known. It's just past (1/6 mile) the Lion's Tap on Hwy 212 in Eden Prairie. Nice trails through the woods, pretty hilly, up to a scenic overlook that gives a great view of the river valley below (Shakopee, Valleyfair, etc.). It's a…

I LOVE my fitbit! I was using it extremely regularly, then I didn't for a few months and now I'm back, although I don't always remember to transfer it when I change clothes. It definitely motivates me to get my steps up. I just joined this group but love the challenge and the spreadsheet! Let's go!

I'm with you there! But really...100 cals a day (not that I actually only have one glass) is only 1 lb a month. We can work that off no problem (once we get where we're going).

There are a lot of "declutter" goals in here; do you girls know about Flylady.com? A little bit at a time, but manageable. I've gotten to the point that instead of hoarding stuff for the $100 I might make at a garage sale (for DAYS of work, mind you) I just bring everything to our neighborhood goodwill-type place. Gone and…

I'm right with you! Two weeks of being SO GOOD and I'm up a pound. I'm hoping the muscle theory is correct.

When you wake up, chug a glass of water with psyllium (stir quickly and chug it down) then follow up with another glass of water. After a little while you'll be good to go! Coffee is also pretty friendly in that department.
