  • OP - In the screenshot you posted where you said it fixed it, look at your steps and see how out to the right it gave you a 10 calorie "credit" and then next to the elliptical it says 51. Add the 10 and 51 and that's the 61 calorie credit that shows at the top (giving you more calories to eat, if you wish). MFP has a…
  • Any or all of this would get someone wrote up in the call center I work in...
  • I eat them for lunch when I'm at the office. I've lost 140ish, but I wouldn't say it's because I'm eating lean cuisines and smart ones. I would say it's more because I'm NOT eating a 2000 calorie lunch before having another 2000 calories for dinner. I hate cooking and the easiest way for me to have a low calorie…
  • IDK = yes, but I'd love to get some on the side you might know her = I deleted your number, so I don't really know who just texted me
  • I get it from some people and I'm still over 200 at only 5'3". It's really just people reacting to the change. You no longer look like they expect so you're "too thin".
  • I work in an inbound customer service call center, so we're very casual since no one sees us. However, no flip flops (safety thing/part of our insurance requirements) and no shorts because people can't figure out to keep their @ss covered. I'd say most people do jeans/tshirts every day.
  • Absolutely. I've lost the large majority of my weight with no or very little exercise. I'm sure I'd look better if I'd been exercising all along though.
  • Completely normal. I tend to lose very little for weeks and then will suddenly have a big loss, even though I am consistent with my calories and activity each week. Weight comes off when your body is ready to let go of it and not before.
  • I had to lose a LOT to go down a size. The smaller you get, the faster the sizes drop. Took FOREVER to go from 26/28 to 24, but very little time to go from 20 to 18 and barely in 18s at all and now 16s are fitting for some brands. I'm sure I was wearing my pants too tight at my heaviest, and probably too loose for a while…
  • I'm 5'3 and just now a little under where you started. I already have people telling me not to lose anymore. I've decided that it has way less to do with how much you may (or may not) need to lose and much more to do with them seeing a big change and not wanting you to change more. BUT, it's not up to anyone else. It's up…
  • I've lost 128 since Nov 2011. Not setting any speed records, but considering I weigh less at age 35 than I did at age 15, I'm pretty happy with it. I still have 72 to go to reach a healthy BMI. Consistency is the key. If you consistently track what you eat and consistently burn more than you eat, you will lose. Yes, you…
  • The only thing I've found to be true is that the more expensive the jeans, the smaller the size I can wear. I figure that's how they convince you to spend more money.
  • Our mind can be our worst enemy. Sometimes I can't see my 120+ weight loss. Pictures do help, but even in pics, I couldn't see it until I had lost more than 60, and maybe closer to 75. Try to be patient and take regular pics and keep comparing the beginning to the most recent one. One day soon, you will see the difference.…
  • See a doctor and get your blood pressure checked out, you've got to take care of yourself for your kids. Just taking one tiny step towards regaining control makes a ton of difference. Don't look at the big picture. Make one small change at a time, and celebrate every tiny victory. Before long, you'll build up momentum. I…
  • What I do is try to compare what I ordered to chain restaurant offerings. For example, if I go to a local mexican place and get chicken fajitas, I look at the nutritional info for Chili's chicken fajitas. It might not be perfect, but at least it gives me an idea. When in doubt, I always tend to guess high.
  • Six pounds in two months for someone with just 40 to lose is awesome.
  • 50 is awesome! I think when we look in the mirror we see what we expect to see. Even after losing over 100, I don't really see the difference in the mirror. It's just too gradual and all I can see is how far I have to go. Keep taking pictures and use those to motivate yourself when you are having a hard time seeing your…
  • I had given it a LOT of thought. Had a close friend have it done (and she looks fantastic) and was quizzing her on everything. Ultimately, I just couldn't. Fear of surgery and fear that I wouldn't be able to make the necessary lifelong changes and end up gaining everything back. I just realized that I would no longer be a…
  • I only have two of those close to me. Mcdonald's - I get a southwest salad with grilled chicken and the southwest dressing. Just under 300 calories as it comes including the dressing. Wendy's - Chili or grilled chicken. If I'm really needing a burger, I get a double stack (from the value menu) and add tomato/lettuce. I…
  • You look amazing and your story is incredible! Thanks so much for sharing and I've bookmarked your blog to check out later.
  • I get asked all the time. I find it awkward when they weigh about what I've lost. I also don't like that it's obvious that I still have a lot to lose and I've already lost a whole person. I'm sure they are dying to know what my starting weight was to have lost so much and still be so overweight, but no one's been bold…
  • I have a completely unresearched theory, although I've found it to be personally true. I think our bodies get "stuck" at certain weights. Not forever, mind you, but for whatever reason, they tend to like certain weights and just stick there and it's hard to break past them. I've lost a lot and I've had a few places that…
  • Some people are sensitive to sodium, some aren't. If I eat something like Chinese, I will be up as much as 5 pounds the next morning, but it goes away within a day or two. I drink a TON of water, so I don't worry about higher sodium in packaged meals or from eating out for the most part. The "monthly visitor" is the more…
  • I only track calories and so as long as I have the calories (and yes, I eat back exercise calories) then I will have something if I want it. The only exception I have made in the last 15 or so months has been Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. I tracked on Thanksgiving, my birthday, etc, etc.
  • Like others said, banana ice cream. I did 1 frozen banana (cut into slices before freezing), 2 tsp nutella and 1 tbsp peanut butter.
  • Just sync your fitbit to MFP, no syncing to your phone required. It's up there under APPS.
  • 118.6 so far without surgery. Before/current face pic in my profile. I still have around 80 to go.
  • I know what you mean. I hate being in new situations where I don't know what to do! BTW, 5 minutes on the elliptical for your first time is GREAT! That thing is a killer.
  • AMAZING!! Such an inspiration!
  • He won't like you any better when your thin. It's just an excuse. Leave him.
