I am back on MFP after being on a long hiatus. The general forums get to me so bad because of the conventional wisdom that people think passing on is so beneficial and it is not. At least not for us that have autoimmune diseases and endocrine disorders.

I like the 8 hour eating window and 16 hour fast way of doing intermittent fasting. I basically set myself up to eat between noon and 8 pm. That way I eat at work around noon or early afternoon; then drive home, cook and eat supper. I also find that IF work best when you eat higher fat, protein and a bit lower on the carbs…

I wasn't giving advice............throwing out suggestions is all. If she can't tolerate or doesn't want to do artificial sweetners; then she ignores the suggestions.

Hi. Up your fat intake to help lose sugar cravings. Also, sugar free jello, pudding, etc may help get you over the hump.

Everyone is different. Great, that works for you. Does not work for EVERYONE.

That is simply not true; but I am not going to argue that with anyone..............if that were the case; I would weigh about 80 pounds instead of 260. I barely eat and I am gaining.

Both coconut oil and olive oil have their place in our diets. I prefer to cook with grass fed butter or coconut oil and use olive oils for salad dressings.

Exactly!

In the absence of carbs; you MUST raise fat intake for energy sake. There is nothing bad about saturated fats. They are natural occurring through animal fats or tropical plants such as palm or coconut. All good fats. I would stay away from Polyunsaturated fats as they increase inflammation in the body (what I am going…

Early humans would have eaten what ever plants were growing and in season...........in areas where the growing season was limited to spring, summer and early fall they would have eaten whatever was growing during that time; then relied on meat / fat over the winter months when plants were scarce. Over the years I have…

Where did you get that Paleo is very low carb???? The majority of the people that I know that are Paleo are NOT low carb...........yes, lower than the SAD, but not Atkins like low carb. Personally, I am on the lower carb portion of Paleo because that is what works for ME and ME ALONE. We are all different and different…

It really depends on your body.......... Have you had blood work to check your cholesterol and triglycerides? If your LDL or triglycerides are high, then you would be best advised to cut out a LOT of the fruit in your eating except for the berries, apples, and fruits like these. Do you have metabolic disorder, insulin…

It could be ketogenic for YOUR body depending on how active you are. If you are very active, then it is possible that those ratios are ketogenic for you and wouldn't necessarily be for the next person; such as myself.
-
If you are keto, then alcohol should be a no-no until you are ready to pull yourself out of ketosis. Fat burning stops when you drink alcohol because the body burns off the alcohol first.

People continuously provide and have provided plenty of evidence for people to only poo poo it. So go research it for yourself. We were never intended to eat sugar. And especially not in the quantities we eat it in today. Do what you like though. I try to abstain as much as possible.

Quality trumps Quantity in my household.

I eat raw beef liver quite often. Best source of iron and its yummy. Grass fed and finished of course from a local farm source.

Lack of fat will make your monthly cycles go away

I stand corrected on the time line. You know what I was getting at though. It is disturbing how cooking from scratch seems to be a lost art. Hardly anyone knows how to cook anymore. I just shake my head.

Everyone knows that by processed they are speaking of foods made in a Corporate manufacturing, factory environment. These overly technical terms are nonsense. We weren't eating boxed, packaged, manufactured food like substances over 50-60 years ago. Foods were made from scratch. Go ahead and eat those preservatives and…

Eggs aren't exactly high in calories for the nutrition the whole egg packs. This is what I mean about people just being too hung up on calories alone. You cause your body to miss out on vital nutrients it needs to function optimally.
-
We eat the whole egg goodness. The yolks are where most of the nutrition is at.
-
I would suggest splitting your calories between the 2 meals and mostly eat whole foods and only small indulgences into the fried foods that are traditionally eaten.
-
We don't eat there because we thought the food was gross and don't understand what all the hype is about.
