  • I just started tracking sugar, and was amazed at how often and far over I was. I really had no idea I was getting so much sugar from unexpected places. Since I'm at a horrendous plateau, I decided to monitor my intake and not go over for a couple weeks and it is HARD. Generally though, I think it's more important to watch…
  • I just started to count sugars, and kinda wish I hadn't
  • I've just started doing this too, but it's too soon to know if it will have good results. My thinking was a lot like yours, but also I know that some days I overeat, and I'll lose weight the next day, then other times I do great, stick to my calories, and nothing for weeks. Hoping that the calorie cycling will help jolt my…
  • I did it all the way through once and am on my second round. I noticed great results with strength and endurance, and inches lost. I get soooo sore when starting each level, but it feels a lot better after the second or third day. You can also check out the 30DS success stories (lots of pics). They really motivated me to…
  • This was great! I'm slowly starting to run, and I love being able to do it, even though it's such a huge challenge. Loved reading this
  • I got it a few months ago but only used it for a couple weeks (didn't feel like I did it often enough to really get a sense of the results). The first day it didn't feel like I got a great workout, and I was considering not doing it again, but the next morning I woke up and everything was sore. The workout goes by a lot…
  • Huge difference! Good for you - you look great
  • I've been doing it for about two weeks, so I can't report on the results yet. It's taken some getting used to though, because I have become so accustomed to lower calorie days that if I don't plan ahead I end up with too many calories later on (and I want to try to not just binge on junk to make the calorie limit). I think…
  • Good for you! I think that's when I knew I'd finally "gotten it" too - when I realized that it's not going to deter me if I don't lose everything within a week, or a month, or six months. As soon as I accepted that it would be a long process, I knew if would be a permanent one. Best of luck to you!
  • Fantastic progress! You look wonderful :)
  • I really appreciate the advice so far, it's definitely helping to put things in perspective. Apparently, this girl has been in foster care before and is back with her mom now. I don't want to assume anything, but I know at the very least, I would not ever accept my son being out alone at night (and the area they were in is…
  • I thought about that too... I'm sure there has to be more to the story, but this girl looked so scared. When I asked how they were feeling (meaning were they feeling sick from drinking) they said they had just been crying all night. I don't know how the night started, but she looked devastated when we picked her up.
  • Thanks! Talking to the school counselor was what I was leaning towards. The fact that they were kicked out and it has happened before makes me feel like talking to the parents isn't going to be enough. I'm assuming that can't be a safe place where the kid feels comfortable talking to her mom about the mistake she made of…
  • Oh I like the idea of a rest day between levels! The first time I did it, I went straight through, mostly as a challenge to myself, and also because once I got started, the momentum kept pushing me and I just couldn't take a day off :) I've been planning on doing my best to go straight through this time too, understanding…
  • Done! This is my second round (did one in September) and even though it's so much easier, it still really kicks my butt! The anterior raises with side lunge completely kill me, so today I just did the move with no weights. I think I'll do that a few days, then try for 5lb weights the last few days of level one.

  • Just started my second round yesterday too, and love having other people who are doing this. It keeps me really motivated. I'm Crystal, 5'8", I started at 225 and am down to about 185 now, with my ultimate goal around 155 or so. I was losing consistently but the past few months my weight loss has slowed to a crawl. I know…
  • That's how I was in the beginning too (and definitely still am when I try new things). I think it's an issue of building strength and stamina. I was actually just thinking about this yesterday. I started my second round of 30 day shred, and realized I am moving at the same pace as them now, where as the first time I was…
  • Do you mean on the weight loss ticker? Go to the Tools tab, then select the weight loss tickers, then you can change the style, and put the actual weight in there. Hope that helps!
  • I'm just about to start zig-zagging my calories too. I've made a "zig-zag" cardio entry so I can add it to my diary for the higher days, and one for my foods so I can add it for the lower days. This should adjust some of the carbs/fat/protein automatically. I honestly don't pay too much attention to those, though, because…
  • I LOVED it! I lost more inches during the month I was doing it than I did in the several months previous combined (but didn't lose a significant amount of weight compared to before I started). Plus it feels good to start and finish a program, and to really see progression in your strength and stamina. Would definitely…
  • Same with me. I've figured it's probably because my weight was distributed pretty evenly around my body, as opposed to being situated in just one spot, like stomach or hips. I have always felt pretty lucky to not feel "fat" at my weight, but couldn't understand how I could look healthy at 150 pounds (I was 225 and 5'8"…
  • Girl we are having the same problems! I've been doing this for 11 months, and the past three months or so it's like all my drive is gone. I've been thinking about it a lot, and I think a big part is that now that it's becoming a lifestyle I don't have to think about it as much. I don't have to consume every day thinking…
  • ...still be over 200 pounds, "wishing" I could change my body, buying too-small clothes I see on sale because I totally plan to lose weight soon...would not have the confidence in myself and my abilities, would still never have run a mile or seen progress and strength with my body...would still be kinda lost. I LOVE this…
  • Love having and giving support on here! I'll send you a request :)
  • The support and motivation on here is the only thing that's kept me going :) Happy to have new friends on here - I'll send a request
  • So bad about that too! It's almost embarrassing how fast I eat my food, especially when I am done with my meal way before the guys I'm eating with. I never think about it until the food is almost gone, too, which is super annoying. The only thing that slows me down a little is jumping on the computer or app to record my…
  • Huge transformation! Good for you - you look fantastic!!
  • It could be a few things. It's important to eat enough, so make sure to hit the goals MFP gives you. Usually starting a new workout can cause your muscles to retain water, which is released after a rest day or after you get used to what you're doing. If Zumba is new for you, that could be a reason. Make sure you're not…
  • I finished 30 DS and then moved on to Ri30. Ri30 felt harder, like levels 4-6 compared to 30DS. I didn't do it as consistently (about 3-4 days a week for each level), so my results weren't as great as 30DS, but I liked the progression from one video to the next.
