Hi BlueJean! Have you talked with your cardiologist about starting an exercise program to see what kind of exercises s/he recommends? After my surgery, I had to take baby steps. I was in rehab for about 4 months and started with just 10 minutes of the treadmill, 10 minutes on an exercise bike, 3 minutes on the hand bike…

I do use a HRM. My defect was a Sinus Venosus ASD with PAPVR. It has been repaired. I also have arrhythmia. I used a HRM in rehab so I just kept with it. For running I use a Garmin with chest strap. For everything else I use the $80 walmart proform with chest strap. Both seem to work just fine. I don't know anything about…

I am! I don't know that I'm going to dress up in a costume. Depending on how my September 10k goes, I may need the Go! 10k for placement in the half marathon I'm doing in February and I don't want a costume to get in the way. But, I will definitely have a Halloween flair to my attire. I'll probably spray my hair with color…

Agree with the others. I don't deny myself anything. I try to make everything fit into my allotted calories but if I go over now and then I don't worry about it.

Hi Brandon! Welcome!
-
I've lost 39 pounds so far and I do eat back my exercise calories. If that stops working, I'll re-evaluate.
-
Me too. The more weight I lose the worse I think they look. I call 'em "saggy bags".
-
Oh my gosh! You look a-freaking-mazing! If I can look half as good as you I will be over the moon. Congratulations!

I like Organic Maple Buckwheat Flakes by Arrowhead Mills. Only 5g sugar per serving and 4g of protein. I've also been eating too much Chocolate Chex cereal. That stuff is like crack and won't be on the shopping list again for a while. :)

Congratulations!

Looking great! Keep up the fantastic work!

I can definitely see a difference. Keep up the great work!

I'm about 13:30m/mi. I'm hoping to get to 12m/mi by February.
-
Me too. I just get my mileage in and try not to worry about time. I figure it will help me run even faster on the cooler days.

After 8 days, I would skip the doctor and go to the ER tonight. Seriously. I had migraines on a regular basis for 23 years so I know how terrible this must be for you. I haven't had one since I was about 6 weeks post-op on a heart defect repair done 6/2011.

With an almost 5 year old and a 3 year old, I get the exercise in whenever I can. Sometimes I'm exercising at 9pm. Other times I'm out running at 7am. If I'm lucky they'll play nicely while I do a short DVD, but often I have to wait until they're in bed.

If I weighed every day, I'd drive myself crazy. I usually weigh once a week, twice tops.
-
I'm 5'6" and 170 pounds. I burn about 175 calories with each of the three 30DS workouts.

When I had shin splints a while back, I took about a week off. They were pretty bad and I limped around for a few days. I hated to do it, but the break was worth not injuring myself even more.
-
I was sedated because of the D&Cs and ablation. But, I have had four biopsies done with no sedation and even those weren't bad.
-
I've had two. One with a D&C and polypectomy and one just on Friday with a D&C and endometrial ablation. No ill-effects either time.
-
I eat my exercise calories most of the time. It has been working for me so for now I'm sticking with it.

Check with your therapist to see if there is another medication you can take. Don't stop taking what you are on, but definitely speak with your doctor about this.

Way to go!

We have to decide that we are worth the effort, and worthy of the results and changes that come along with that effort. My circumstances were different, but I had to decide the same thing. I deserve to be the person I want to be, the person I've always known that I could be. My body has carried me through the self-abuse,…

How is your iron level? Edit: I just saw your response. Iron deficiency can cause hair loss, but if you are not greatly deficient then I don't know that it would be the issue.
