  • I agree with this post. If you happen to find a pair of jeans that you really love the style of and they are on clearance then buy them, otherwise just wait. Certainly don't spend much money on a pair of jeans that may not fit the way you want them. Even if you buy an expensive pair of jeans in a size 18, and they fit…
  • I understand that healthy diet and exercise is the only way to lose fat and therefore cellulite. I have heard that massage, along with aforementioned healthy diet and exercise, can help aid in the process of losing cellulite by increasing the circulation to those areas. Is there any truth to this? Are there any other…
  • Let me rephrase the question. Is there any point in using a heart rate monitor that does not use a chest strap? Is it at all accurate to base calories burned on strades taken? Also I am curious if anyone has the S12 heart rate monitor?

  • Well, a long time ago, I read that you burn women 4% more calories during their time of the month. So that could cause you to lose weight during your time of the month given that you don't change your caloric intake or workout less. I have no idea about why you might gain weight after though.
  • Bump, again.
  • Day 1: Back on the wagon. I did eat well today. I don't think I am going to get in any exercise today. I had a long day between work and taking my husband to 2 follow up doctor appointments. I plan to go for a walk/run first thing tomorrow morning.
  • Okay, so I am sorry for falling off the face of the Earth. The past few weeks have been an insane roller coaster. I lost my internet threeish weeks ago and just now got it back. My husband has been in the hospital for the past almost two weeks. He had surgery last Tuesday. We were facing some really tough decisions for a…
  • You might want to look into Chantex as was stated earlier. I have heard about a new drug that really helps people quit smoking, and I think that was it. I don't think it has any major side effects. If you are determined to quit smoking cold turkey, I have heard that regular gum can help. If you cannot quit cold turkey,…
  • I try to avoid fast food on the whole. Every once in a while I do get a craving though, and the fresco menu is a great choice as far as fast food is concerned. Plus Taco Bell is one of my husbands favorite places to eat so I can eat there when he brings something home for himself. I think the fresco menu is one of the best…
  • All recent research says that eggs are great for you. They are high fat, but they have a good balance of omega 6 and omega3 fatty acids. They are also one of the most filling foods on the planet. I read that if you eat two eggs for breakfast you will usually eat 330 fewer calories during the rest of the day. I wouldn't eat…
  • I thought I had made a post decribing my past week, but I can't find it. If it is one here somewhere and I just don't see it I apoligize for repeating myself. Basically the past week has been pretty crappy. I had a migraine that took me out of commission from Sunday through yesterday. Everytime I stood up or even sat up I…
  • Yay!. I am so happy for you. Enjoy your new eyes.
  • Zucchini, squash, eggplant, bell peppers, that are brushed lightly with garlic and olive oil grills up nicely. Fruit salad. Three bean salad. Healthy deviled eggs, with non fat mayonnaise and spricy brown or just plain yellow mustard, paprika. My personal favorite is all sorts of raw veggies (baby carrots, celery, bell…
  • I voted for you yesterday and again today. Hope you win! You deserve it!
  • Jennifer, No rush at all, I am just so glad that I found someone with so much fitness knowledge that is glad to share it with me. Thank you so much for that! Day 12 - I went for a three mile run/walk. I am amazed at how fast running is becoming easier. This is the first time that I have tried running at my own pace, but…
  • That is great! I knew you could do it! This post makes me so excited to do my first 5K.
  • My challenge for the next week will also be no cheating. I have pretty good diet wise, but I would like to go a whole week only eating good clean food. My other challenge will be to add in some strength training two maybe three days a week. I also think I am going to start swimming with my husband. My husband's doctor just…
  • Jennifer, Thanks for the advice! I would love for you to suggest some core and upper body strength moves. Just to clarify, you do think it is okay to lay off the lower body strength training all together for right now, right? I do plan to use the Couch 2 5K program. I tried it once and could not make it through the first…
  • That is so exciting! Just think of how far you have come to make it to this point. I am sure that you will be able do the whole thing without walking. Good luck!
  • Voted for you. Good Luck! I know what you mean about never treating yourself.
  • I posted this question on the main fitness thread, and I only got one response so I thought I would try it here. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Okay so I am trying to get on a daily workout schedule. I am training for a 5K and therefore want to run atleast 3 days a week. I would prefer to workout every day if…
  • I feel the same way about Krav Maga. It doesn't feel like working out. I really feel like a badass when I get done with it. Which is a great feeling.
  • I have been crazy busy and have not gotten a chance to post my updates in a bit. I had to take my husband to the hospital this weekend. He had to be admitted overnight due to dehydration, but he is better now. He had been throwing up and wasn't sure if it was the Crohns or due the treatment for the Crohn's. Turns out the…
